  1. Exactly! In the first page you can write a description of the software and all is necessary to introduce it. Then you can add some guides and tricks. The rest of the topic is for announce updates, make discussion and provide support.
  2. Great, I really appreciate the portable version! Perhaps you would like to organize e single topic for your software where describe it and post the updates. If you need some help, ask to me.
  3. Don't worry, he is working on a guide, I hope we can publish it soon.
  4. I don't agree with that. The worst thing TLG can do is to "armour" LDD or even dismiss it. LDD as we know it today, especially after the end of the DbM mode, is in part a gift to lego fans. So the problem is not related to some phantom pressure that TLG can do over forum staff, but to the lost of the communication channel we have with the LDD staff. That's why I think that who is really interested in the "reverse engineering" work should directly contact TLG asking informations about that. Querying the question in the right way, the answer could be surprisingly positive.
  5. The problem about the Plate 4625 and Cockpit 4474 has been reported in the topic of the LDD 4.2.5 bugs?
  6. I try to repeat the request... any volunteer for the step-by-step guide for dummies? In order to avoid the "pollution" of this topic, we could discuss about it in private or create a new topic.
  7. You don't get confused: the brick 4737 was another one available in LDD3 and vanished in LDD4. My Polaris Lab well knows that In the LDD4 version (still not inserted here, I have all my sets updated to the last LDD version, but I'm waiting to have decent screenshots ) I had to replace it with a jumble of slope bricks, and the geometry not exactly the same.
  8. Window 4741 was available in previous versions of LDD. I hate when a previously available piece is removed!
  9. Probably the render has been done with powray. It would be very useful if someone would realize a step by step guide for dummies. Any volunteer?
  10. Is this the preference.ini file in the user directory? (in win7: C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\preferences.ini)
  11. This "discouraging" politics is related to the good terms this forum is with TLG regarding the LDD support. It seems TLG is not sure that share the techniques to disassemble parts of LDD is a good idea. So to maintain the aforecited "good terms" has been decided to avoid this kind of arguments here. I don't think it is a "judicial world" related issue. Did you try to contact TLG asking about what they thing about this argument? With a positive response, I don't think anyone here will remonstrate if someone will open a topic specific for this argument.
  12. toa, the last image is oversized! EDIT: perfect!
  13. You mean that without the registered version it is not possible to build models such as this?
  14. Oh I know! The first 6382 (Fire Station) was made by me. As the right tyres was missing, I replaced the whole system system (122c01+4084) with other quite similar elements (4600+50944+42611).
  15. This is the kind of sets I love because date back to the period of my infantry! But... do you want to leave some of that so incomplete? I even see missing tires that has not been replaced. PS: have you got a list of inaccuracies? It could be useful to share it!
  16. One thing I don't like about the "legal way to build" is that are considered illegal many technique used in many official sets in the past, for example vertically insert a tile between the studs of a brick or use the grid of a fence to connect a round brick. That limit prevent me to accurately reconstruct official sets, and I think it is a pity. An "old official techniques" compatibility mode would be really appreciated! (by me, at least)
  17. I think they will not support it anyway! After all this happens already: some set uses techniques that LDD will not support and probably will never support. It is not a matter of opportunity. There is an exhaustive document that examine and explain illegal techniques. So, why does LDD not support that, even if these techniques are widely used by MOCers and even in official lego set (mostly in old sets, anyway)? I think the reason is that they want LDD to be a tool for make lego creations using legal techniques. What I mean is that with LDD they want to promote the use of legal techniques only. I'm one of that LDD users that don't appreciate this philosophy! I'd like that LDD will allow to do everything is possible to do with real bricks. But I think my desire will remain unsatisfied!
  18. Quote for this part! It recurs in a pair of sets I'm interested to.
  19. What happened to my post at #2 containing the link to the previous post? 20. This release don't carry substantial modifies to the software. No one of the requests about the software has been taken into consideration. Hopefully these issues will be solved in LDD 5.
  21. That should be listed as 'duplicate'. Thanks for the notice. I saw there are two possible set's numbers for Fort LEGOredo: 6762 (your) and 6769 (AndyC's). If the two version are substantially identical, I could correct the index adding both numbers.
  22. Good find! I didn't noticed there was two different but similar bricks (the model was built when LDD has not the search function yet!). Now I'll try to insert the jail-cell using the old type plate with bar. EDIT: The old type plate with bar fits perfectly, thanks. Plate replaced and post fixed!
  23. 6930 - Space Supply Station Theme: Space > Classic [Brickset] [Peeron] [BrickLink] Download (LDD 4.2.5): - Direct link HERE. - More on my BrickShelf Gallery HERE. - Visual Gallery HERE. - Get the ZipPacks from HERE. Known Inaccuracies: - Baseplate 32 x 32 with Craters missing: I made a very stylized alternative, I'll have to work on it, in the future. - Clip 4085a replaced with clip 4085b - Plate, Modified 2x2 with Wheels Red(122c01) replaced with a custom solution (4600+4624). The solution don't connect with the tire (bug?). - Slope 33, Inverted 3x2 Hollow with Towball (4089) replaced with an a classic slope and a floating round plate (3747+6141) - - Many decorations missing, replaced if possible. - NOTE: impossible to place the two flying veichles on the landing plates. Instelled an anti-G engine to allow them to float a bit above. Comments: Another set from my infantry. I waited for new pieces to post it.
  24. About the mail, I suggest you to edit your previous post deleting the reference. About the bug, this is not the right place. Post it here!
  25. 6886 - Galactic Peace Keeper Theme: Space > Space Police [Brickset] [Peeron] [BrickLink] Download (LDD 4.2.5): - Direct link HERE. - More on my BrickShelf Gallery HERE. - Visual Gallery HERE. - Get the ZipPacks from HERE. Known Inaccuracies: - Black Bar 1x6 with Studs Open (4873) replaced with Hanger with closed studs (6140) - Window 1x4x3 Train with All Studs Hollow (4033) replaced with Container Frame 1x4x3 (6556) - I used minifig head with hollow stud (3626b) instead than old type (3626a) - Many decorations missing, replaced if possible. - NOTE: As the Antenna 4H don't fit in the 6140, there is not connection and the Jail-Cell can't close. Comments: I tried to make an assembled version of the ship replacing some pieces. It is included in the zippack. Comments: I built this set time ago, but the lack of important pieces delayed its posting here.
