The best way to share your images and lxf file is to use an external file hosting that allows hotlinks. The most used here is brickshelf: you can make a free account and than hotlink both images and lxf file.

Some newies questions about LDD 4.2.5
Calabar replied to Hoexbroe's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Note that the scaffolding allows much more extra positions, but LDD seems to not accept other than these two extra positions you refer to. LDD act as there would be some sort of collision problem, that obviously there is not. -

Absolutely needed! The maximum size of images allowed in this forum is 800x600, so in the meantime I converted your image in a text link. Another thing: you should post a direct link of the lxf file (unfortunately the moderation process of brickshelf is slow, so your gallery could remain unavailable for days). Only creations shared with the lxf file are allowed in this section, because the lxf file allow to other users to examine the building techniques used with LDD. -

You have to open the lxf file with LDD and than take a screenshot: Tool Box -> Take a Screensshot (Ctrl+K) The screenshot is saved in your Documents\Images folder. Take the file, crop and resize it, and upload it inside your brickshelf gallery. Than take the URL of the image and insert it in the first post of this thread using the image tags. -

In the post. You can use the "Insert Image" button, available when you write a post, to insert the image without manually write the tag. -
Ok, I understand the problem! The solution in simple: you have to refer to an inventory such as those that provided from bricklink or peeron. As bricklink, peeron and lego uses different names for the colours, you should look at a conversion table, such as peeron color list. More informations in the "LDD reference" Topic. Replace the colours is simple too: the Color Selection Tool allow you to select all the bricks of the same colour and then recolour that using the bucket.

Hi! I'm wondering about the colours you told has been replaced. Extended Mode allows to apply almost all colours to all available bricks (even in never combinations never realized in real bricks), so this problem should not happen. Could you explain with more detail?

Need a little bit of help
Calabar replied to BigRedGoat's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
In order to humor your request, you should provide the lxf file About your startup problem with LDD, I'm sure you can solve it. Read the solutions written in this pinned topic, and if you don't solve, post in that topic and report all necessary data. -

I think there is no hurry to start this RCB, the pirate's RCB is not finished yet. -

Most wanted bricks for next LDD update
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Absolutely true: I already used this brick to update my Fire Station 6382 (not posted yet). Probably I forgot to delete the request, as I recycled the old wishlist! Not I edit my previous post. -

Misplaced and Removed Bricks
Calabar replied to Foremast Jack's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
mmm... I remembered that the compatibility setting is related to the stricter rules that new versions of LDD could have. So, if you are opening an old lxf file and the compatibility is at the maximum level, it is possible that a brick that would have been removed will not. Then I suggested to set the maximum compatibility. If not... what is the role of the compatibility setting? Something related to software issues? -
Misplaced and Removed Bricks
Calabar replied to Foremast Jack's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If the UnplaceableBricksDump.lxfml file don't help you (try to set the compatibility lever to the maximum value before open it), you could compare the old file and the new file with LDDManager (don't know if other software recently appeared in the forum, such as BrickUtils or this other, can achieve the same goal). -
I can't understand why a service like brickshelf don't create a dummy page with the announcement. A simple page reporting something like "Brickshelf is under restructuration.... The service should be available again in date..."

I hope so. The present limits regarding file names and the problems regarding multiple uploads are often very uncomfortable.

LDD MOC: Cargo Lorry
Calabar replied to Dakar A's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi, and thanks for sharing your good work! Note that as the Brickshelf is moderated, it could need even days before your gallery became public. So I suggest you to directly hotlink the file (brickshelf allows hotlinks). PS: Some of your images were oversized, so I converted that in text links!
