  1. DirectX 10-11 are not an update of DirectX 9, but a separated library. You have to install both of them.
  2. It is not damaged, simpy replace the setID in the link too, and you will find the file.
  3. Now the post is regular, thanks! I tagged it as "incomplete" because you don't placed some parts and didn't try to add a suitable substitute to missing ones. About the image, remember that you can take a screenshot without the grid using the screensot function of LDD (CTRL+k).
  4. @Instructions archiver Don't forget to report set's theme.
  5. @Balthasar_the_Dark Welcome in the LDD Official Sets topic! There are some thins to fix in your post to make your entry regular. - The set's data (setid, name, theme) are not reported and highlighted. Take a look at the posts of other users as example. - The image of your post is not regular, so I temporarily converted it in a text link. You can read all the rules of the topic (related to images and other things) in the first page. Here is a short guide that could help you with the image of the set. @DLuders I converted your image in text link. Only sets preview are allowed in this topic.
  6. Did you try the trick reported in the screenshot guide of overlapping screenshot with itself to fix the problem of LDD with transparent bricks? The set's number is 6982! Please report the theme for each set!
  7. A question about multiple Wanted Lists. When I automatically search for items in my wanted list in a shop, the search is made including ALL my wanted lists. I'd like to select only some of these lists, is it possible? EDIT: forget the question, I found the "Show Multiple Wanted Selection Lists as Multiple Options in Stores and My Wanted Items By Shop" option in the My Wanted List Settings. Otherwise, is there a fast way to export a wanted list? I've seen is there a textfield for massive upload, but what about save the list, so that I can delete is and later restore it? Still talking about the use of wanted lists in a shop, it there a way to show the list of available pieces divided by wanted list? Thanks!
  8. Oh, ok, I didn't thought about that. Maybe in the future the API will be improved or a new and more sophisticated control will be added.
  9. I don't mean to use a LDD like palette, but only to put a little icon aside the category name in the (dropdown?) menu list to make it more recognizable. I think that the visual feedback can help users to easily browse among categories (especially those that have more difficulties with english language).
  10. Maybe in the brick library could be useful to add an "icon" representing the specific kind of bricks next to the name, ti give a visual feedback? For example next to the category name "Bricks - Sloping" you could add a little slope 45 2x2 to represent the category.
  11. @matthewclso Create a brickshelf account here, then hotlink the files. BrickShelf allow to create galleries of both images and cad files related with LEGO.
  12. Maybe it would better to use personalized design id, to avoid overlapping with future TLG ones. Peeron for example uses the "x" prefix for unofficial design ids. A specific letter could distinguish a specific kind of bricks (C = custom, M = MegaBlocks, etc...)
  13. Good entry ilulz Could yo post that as separate parts? It yould be useful to add an image or a link to the original part.
  14. @ilulz Still have some problem with the images: - 1782: some parts of the set has been cut off. The image need to be cropped (large white stripe on bottom) - 6441: some parts of the set has been cut off. The image need to be cropped (white stripe on top) - 6442: The image need to be cropped (large white stripe both on top and on bottom) - 6555: Image is well done, but it is too big for such a small set. I suggest you no more than 256x size. - 6556: Image is well done, but it is oversized and violate topic's rules (maximum size is 512x512 px). A good resize could be 384x170. Two suggestions: - carefully read the rules of the topic in the first post. - take a look at this guide, it could help you to create screenshots. - you can use brickshelf to upload images too, non only lxf files. It is not a problem, but it could be more comfortable for you to use the same file osting for both lxf files and images. Ask me if you don't understand something or you need some help.
  15. @ilulz Very good, I see you have created your brickshelf gallery. You can use it for the set 1782 too. You should fix the image of the second set, removing the background. And don't forget to remove blank/white stripes around the image!
  16. @ilulz Welcome to Eurobricks and to the LDD Official Set topic. Your entry is good, I can suggest you few things to fix The image seems to cut the set in its lower right corner. To avoid that you can use the "Reset View" button n the viewport (NumLock 5 on the keyboard) and than cut horizontal blank stripes only. As the set is enough big, you can opt for a bigger thumbnail (inside a 512x512px square anyway). You could create an account on brickshelf (or any other proper file hosting service, brickshelf is specific for LEGO) to upload both images and lxf files, and hotlink that here, instead than using the attachment function of the forum (that is very limited in space and is accessible to registered users only).
  17. Probably that's one of the reasons why he is uploading his last works with and without music. Did you try to use a proxi?
  18. Very strange: what is the displayed error description?
  19. No one interested in this? After about a week, not even a comment about these I consider fantastic works! Maybe someone knows any other that creates these kind of digital animated assemblies?
  20. @Thebicyclestory The user is not active from about one year. Fortunately I had the file, so I added it again to the topic as attachment. PS: for next times, remember to don't quote images or long text in this topic. You can read the rules of the topic in the first page. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  21. My idea of RCB is a collaborative build where participants have the chance to express their creativity. Build a predefined model is too limiting. I think that decide a "style" (for example "classic castle") and a generic subject (for example "a stronghold on a pass" or "a battle scene in front of a fortified wall") is enough. Build in lego a specific object could be not funny and very difficult to manage (and if the build of a participant is not much suitable with the final model? And if the model results finished but there are 5 participants yet?). For a future RCB, I'd like to see a New Classic Space subject. But maybe it is too difficult to realize.
  22. Why not? vynsane told that mechabricks works fine on his Android Device, and surely it works on Windows (with Windows 8 there will be more and more touchscreen), a touch optimized interface could be a good thing even if iOS don't support it. Interesting. As in iOS alternative browsers are based on safary engine too, I imagine that the problem is not solved using another browser. Is it possible to easy find the recompiled version of safari (or another browser) you are speaking about?
  23. Thanks to you for your availability. With the increase of the number of decorations, I think this display method will be a bit "tight". Can I hope for a change, in the future? That's a very good start point. You could ask if the user want to use a custom palette if he select that it is an official set. You could even add a feature to import a csv file with the bricklist (id,colour, quantity), very useful for example to design a MOC when you try to build something starting from a bunch of bricks you have at disposal. Now brickset has part lists too, but it takes the data from lego site. That means that only recent sets (year 2006 and newer) have a part list and that these part list are very accurate for part ids and colours but often incomplete. For example, take a look at the set 7915-1, it results only 97.8% complete. Anyway I don't know if these data are available through brickset's API (maybe not, because it seems the data are taken from TLG site "on the fly", but I'm not sure about that). Surely bricklink is a better resource for that, but there could be the problem due to the use of part ids that not ever match with LEGO ones (if you use BL part ids for your software, this is not a problem, obviously).
  24. There are two links in the post I've linked to you: you have to click on the one about LDD Startup Problems (the first one in the post). Anyway, my advise is to remove LDD, clean any LDD residue (profile folder or any other file scattered inside the computer) and than make a clean install again. If this solution will not work, than probably the problem is in your PC, maybe the openGL libraries. I've head about a problem due to an update of MacOS that prevent to enable the advanced graphics in LDD: maybe you are trying to enable it?
  25. Thanks for the answers. About parts count, you use a bricklink-like approach, where a decorated part is considered a distinct part. I consider more "clean" an approach that consider geometry only, so that you have a design and you can apply a colour and a decoration (if any suitable) on it. Besides I think tha the limited number of decorations is one of the greatest limits of LDD, and your online approach is ideal to have a great quantity of decorations. In this case maybe consider a decorated part as a distinct part would be difficult to manage for builders. About part request, I thought about an automatic mechanism: when a user built a model if he don't find the part he needs, he can immediately submit the request from the bricks palette... and maybe the part will be available before he finish his work! Or maybe the software can automatically generate a list of missing parts when an official set is created (this require that the builder will specify the set he/she is trying to build, and an access to a database containing bricklists for each set). About saving files, I think that store that on mecabricks server is a great solution. But perhaps it would be useful to give the chance to save a copy in locale too, for safety. I think this solution could help to make builders feel more "safe". A feature I'd like to have would be a set-personalized palette. For example I decide to built the set 6073-1: I specified it to the software and it consults the BL database (or any other, or even an internal one) and provide me a personalized palette that contains only the necessary parts in the right amount. Obviously I should be able to easily switch to the standard palette if necessary (for example to add a replacement of a missing part).
