HELP! LDD crashes upon saving!
Calabar replied to Lyichir's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Does the file results 0 bytes in size? Maybe some kind of problem with the integrated "zip" function of your OS. Are you able to zip files using the integrated function and not a third party software?- 11 replies

Text don't wrap with standard editor in Firefox
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Forum Information and Help
Thanks to you. I've just made another test, verifying that the problem happens with a clean Firefox profile too. I'll try with another system as soon as possible. -

Text don't wrap with standard editor in Firefox
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Forum Information and Help
Thanks. I didn't provided extra data because I thought that the problem was easily reproducible. Here is a screenshot that shows the problem. I use the last version of Firefox (36.0.4), but this problem appears surely with earlier versions of Firefox 36 or maybe even with Firefox 35. Note that the Rich Editor don't show the issue. -
@ashir The sequence number (-1, -2, etc...) is added by online catalogues (such as bricklink or brickset) but it is not part of the official identifier. Besides it can be vary from one database to another. Simply, these sets have the same identifier and have to be distinguished looking at the name. Luckily, this situation is quite rare.

Text don't wrap with standard editor in Firefox
Calabar posted a topic in Forum Information and Help
As in the title. It seems that using the latest versions of Firefox (I didn't tried with other browsers at the moment) the standard editor don't wrap the text. It is a bit uncomfortable when you write quite long sentences. Is it possible to fix the problem? -

@bublible Yes, take a look at the section index, there you will find all the RCB, including the classic space one. EDIT: it seems you already found it. -

POVRay gradient background?
Calabar replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The result above is very good! How much time did it took to be rendered and on which machine? At the end of the day, the time necessary for a render is the main limit of powray.- 18 replies

The primary solution is to avoid weird placement of bricks as much as possible. If the issue happens even so, try to fix the placement of the brick as soon as possible connecting the problematic block to a well placed brick (a brick just placed in the scene is the more secure choice).

Calabar replied to Jarema's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
About "official topics" you can take a look at the Section Index, where you can find the links to the topic related to some software. There are not strange requisites: you have to create a presentation page, keep it updated and use the topic to answer user questions, report updates and so on... For example this is the topic for the software JBrickBuilder, recently released by Mario Pascucci. -

I mean that an "official topic" for the application, that users can use as a reference, could be a good way to introduce it to the EuroBricks folk. Many other software here has a similar topic where the developers can meet the users and share info and updates. -

Are you the creator of LIC? Why don't use this topic as a showcase for the software editing and maintaining the first post of the topic with info, links and some image? -
It is a known problem. The only way to solve (except rebuild the model) is detect the key bricks that create the anomaly and "straighten" them (and all connected bricks), for example connecting them to another well placed brick.
-
You will not get a .exe file, JBrickBuilder is a Java application and you will find a .jar file (that is an archive) In the firts page of this topic there is a direct link to the .jar file.

I'm not a LDD2Powray expert, but the software allow to replace decorations "on the fly". Maybe you have not to follow the long procedure you listed above. PS: Obtain that list is not easy, because the files are contained in the db.lif file of LDD and open it is a violation of the LDD EULA. Maybe some software with a "Trial and error" method have obtained a complete list, but I'm not up to date. Maybe superkalle received a complete list from the LDD team he has contact with.

Struggling and yet enthused.
Calabar replied to Grosse Kind's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you select a part, the Design ID is showed in the status bar on the bottom. Besides, you can: - export the BOM (Bill of Materials) of the whole creation - examine the lxf file with external software (for example LDD Manager, at the moment a bit out of date, but will be updated soon) and obtain the list of bricks. Note that the IDs are not unambiguous. Different databases uses different IDs. For example if you mean to buy the bricks on bricklink, you need to convert LDD IDs to Bricklink IDs (for example using LDD Manager or BrickUtils). About part's colour, the Extended Mode allow you to colour a brick with every colour available, even if that brick has never been printed in that colour. LDD don't provide a way to check if a colour is used for a specific brick. Anyway you can check your model with LDD Manager, that should contain an enough affordable list. Otherwise you can check manually each part with bricklink or other online databases, but it could be a huge work. -
LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Calabar replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
About the problem of removed bricks, LDD already provide some extra informations. This topic has been discussed on several occasions. For example, take a look at here. Here is a wider search about the argument.
