  1. Yeah! Black and White horses (possibly grey) are much needed. Hope Lego will add them to some sets soon…
  2. Sure. But these resellers and scalpers are “greedy money loving scum”. Its just funny that this GWP is sold out not even after 24 hrs. and suddenly they appear everywhere on secondary market just for riddiculous prices… I am not buying this megabullshit excuses…sorry but not sorry.
  3. I agree mostly, but I personaly dont want LEgeo to make sets based on RoP... Its a still strong start for LOTR line even if it is under ICONS brand, so I would much appreciate if they continue with the story of LOTR and give us (fans) a decent storytelling through line of LOTR themed sets, rather than splitting it up or worse ending it and then continue with RoP or Hobbit. The Key locations are still missing. And yes, there is a great potential for smaller sets or vignettes (Mount Doom, Moria, Argonath...) and battle packs (Roha, Gondor - obviously, some Orcs Uruks etc.). I think that Rohan and Gondor need to be next. And not just Minas Tirith or Helms Deep but also Paths of the Dead, Edoras, or at least Meduseld, Osgiliath, Ithilien...there is so much potential for UCS style sets :)
  4. Its not that easy I guess. I think that fans wants a smaller (affordable) sets ALONGSIDE with big UCS... in short, fans want to have option to choose. Now there is only option to buy or not to buy. Thats it. Regarding the Bag End / Shire set - I am OK with its size, I am not ok with the price, which is riddiculous. Its premium price for not as premium set. Only premium think is, that there is nothing else from LOTR line to buy (except Rivendell and Barad Dur). If its 270 bucks, it should have additional 500-800 pieces (i.e. Beauty and the Beast Castle). This will certainly make it bigger and more in line with the cost. If its 2 017 pcs. set, it should cost 199,99 bucks at top. And yes, I am taking into consideration the IP, number of figs, and specialized pieces such as cloth parts etc. It was sold out during first 24 hrs. At least here In Czech Republic. Now it is on secondary market, usually around 2 500 - 4 000 CZK (110 - 175 USD). This is the way how LEgo treats Fans. Just riddiculous. It is not that simplistic. But yes, for the sake of ranting, I guess I get your point...
  5. It could be usable by minifigs. Just not all 7 levels :) Only 3 of them (based on my suggestion that I wrote above). It would have space for interaction, and interiors, just not everywhere. We are discussing possible compromise, how to design such large scale set with respect to the movie model...
  6. But there is. You have mentioned only two extremes - either full minifig compatible city in $ 5000 price range or a small part of the top most level in more decent price ("just" $ 400) :D There are plenty of ways how to use "design magic" and create Minas tirith with 7 lvls shape and still mainaining somewhat accesible price around $ 1000 or maybe little bit above. You can do a lower "semi circle" with main gate, 2 buildings, few towers (mostly in a way that Disney Castle has), then middle circle, with smaller gate, tunnel beneth the rocky outcrop and perhaps one house long with additional towers and then the top most lvl with citadel and tower of Ecthelion with white tree. The rest of the lvls between 1st middle ant top levels would be just "fake" made in forced perspective... So design-wise those levels would be there, but cannot be used by minifigs you know. This is mostly the same way as Barad Dur was designed. You can play with it, but its dramaticall yscaled down while maintaining the idea of shape and size... This is IMO the most complex and probable approach if we ever get Minas Tirith as a set. It would be still around 8 000 + pcs, it will have some side buildfs such as scaled down Grond, one siege tower and or catapult, probably one Nazgul on the flying beast (possibly Witch King), maybe even one Mumakil, and aroudn 20-25 figs in total. This would be approach I would personally choose if I was a Lego Designer in LOTR / ICONS Line. You need to understand how Lego tends to think about their sets. Usually They try to be as complex as they can. Hence the Shire set (i.e. all the sidebuilds etc.). If they have one shot, they would probably try to add as much references as possible. So thats that. Only "small" section of the White city and few Gondor soldiers all with new moulded armour and helmets and crisp prints just to make fans happy? Nah. I dont think so.
  7. I guess that some smaller sets with Gindor themed characters or scenes (aka Theoden and Eowyn vs Witch King, some battle scene with few soldiers vs Orc or Mumakil etc) will satisfy my need and hunger. But then as many here, I would like to see Minas Tirith set. But there is so much to be afraid of. What if the build doesent appeal to me? What if it ruins my expectations of such unique and iconic location? What if its waaaay too expensive (like more than $1000)? It is both tempting to have fantasies about what this set could be and actually get a massive ultra expensive build which will be one of. FOMO would be unbereable for me. So I am on the edge… to wish for it or not to wish for it at all :)
  8. 40 defenders wouldn fit in LKC IMO. This is nonsens with respect… Its enough to have 20 defenders against lets say 50-70 attackers and it will be great diorama all the same. Besides, 150 Black Falcon with same torso… its just ugly.
  9. White tower itself doesent make any sense. Also 4x Gondorian guards is nonsense, we never get that many guards in one set. Usually Lego is very good at dissapointing their fans in terms on what they include in sets... Rivendell is rare exception...
  10. Lego made Barad Dur. Location where nothing, literally NOTHING happened except of Gollum’s torture. Noone from the Fellowship went there. So why they wouldnt make Minas Tirith which is main centre point in ROTK? 🤔
  11. Maybe, we shall see :) I would prefer both variants. As collector, I like the idea of Minas Tirith (Barad Dur style in terms of scale) in $1000 price point. I can be in peace with multiple playsets which I get just for minifigs and then build my own version of the Gondor Capital. So its basically win win if Lego decides to depict Gondor in one way or another :)
  12. It wont. Most of the battle turned into siege of the city…
  13. All members of the Fellowship was actually there at one point. Including Frodo and Sam. Minas Tirith is Iconic because of the Battle on the Pellennor fields. Forgot about that?
  14. I hope that Lego will continue with LOTR either under ICONS lineup or under separate themed lineup. It would be shame to cancel it again. The more I think about possible future sets, the more I am convinced that Minas Tirith wont be next release. Helms Deep is possible as a large ICONS D2C set. Its doable in minifig compatible scale with decent amount of minifigs (like 12-16: Trio of heroses, Haldir, Theoden, Eomer, Gandalf, Gamling, 2-4 random soldiers and few Uruks + 3 horses top). Or they will continue with Fellowship with smaller “Shire-like-size” sets such as Bree, Amon Sul or Mines of Moria playset… or even Amon Hen diorama and such. Minas Tirith can wait and to be honest, I cant see them make it unless it is micro or nano scale. Perhaps I am wrong and maybe after 1000 USD Death Star, they will be more brave and bold with sets above 1000 price tag. All in all I hope for nect surprise… :)
  15. And it would be a great oportunity to include few Nazguls with horses. I guess 2-3 of them + Aragorn, 4 hobbits and maybe, MAYBE Arwen with white horse? That would make 8-9 minifigs (which is realistic number) and decetn build of Amon Sul all in price range of 200 USD? Is it too naive? :) Yeah thats a wet dream...but it would be nice :)
  16. Hopefully Deagol gets exclusive torso at least. Otherwise there is no readon to buy The Shire for full price day one.
  17. Yeah, there is no problem in that. The rumored price is what is the issue. There has been serious quality downgrade in the LOTR sets from what I and most of the LOTR fans here can see. Rivendell with 6000 pcs, 15 + 6 minifigs for 500 USD is a top notch set, with remarkable design and care. Bag End is more than half the price with only 1/3 pieces and 9 minifigs with somewhat unfinished or neglected details. Thats is the problem. So basically Lego can make a big brown something with LOTR label on it and people will buy it all the same? This is not the feedback they should get. I will probably take it as weel but probably from the secondary resseler, or from the guy in the factory in Kladno, for at least 1/3 price down. I cannot pay that much for that small of a stuff.
  18. There is no function beneth the interior of the Bag End. Its just because of the terrain outside. Only function is in the fireplace...
  19. The interior is so underwhelming from what I can see in that blurry pic… definitelly not a $270 set. There are obvious budget cuts which hurt the set a lot.
  20. It wont be 40 Gondor figures even if that hypothethical set get 40 minifigs. I can see 6-8 soldiers at max. The rest would be orcs, main characters, perhaps Rohirrim + few horses…
  21. Yes, it would be. I imagine tht it will be something like Barad Dur is. But what will be the selling point? Minifigs. A large asortment of main characters and regular soldiers. And then I can justify for myself to spent this amount of money on one single set. Microscale MT without figs for $500 is out of my interest :)
  22. Microscale MT? I would rather get nothing, if its not minifig compatible… If I had to choose whether $500 microscale or $1000 minifig compatible, I would go with the second option…
  23. I finally get the set, after a long decision making, wheter I like it or not. I just started building it yesterday and I have just built the first 3 in 1 house. So far, I can say that there is a lot of wasted potential which is sacrificed due to the budget. I generally like it so far, and more so in person. But it will require massive enhancement using my own parts to finish the buildings, and make them mor cohessive. Overall, it would be better to offer the set as a series of single house units with their respective inhabitants and microbuilds and some foliage rather then compress it into one lacking set.
  24. 1k for a Minas Tirith is a hell of a money. I can justify 7-800 $ for it at top, with 7k pieces and 20-25 minifigs. But thats it. Psychologically, four digits ate just way too much…
