  1. ...and maybe the BIs of TC17 in 42099 B-model version? :D
  2. The same photos as @amorti, but with flipped hub ;) https://photos.app.goo.gl/NhfpzreuJ3wigBQ67 Didn't thought about that... Well, the icons are inverted, but that's not really annoying (the value and warning remain meaningful).
  3. I just did that on an assembled Rocky ;) Not so sure. Thinner might also mean more solvents, potentially harmful...
  4. I like it too! IMHO, it also requires to turn the hub 180°, or the battery retainer latches remain very difficult to operate. This can be done easily, but the button is now on the back, so the cable taming needs to be done a bit differently to keep accessibility.
  5. Yes, using a 20z bevel inside differential gear works fine with a 20z or a 12z bevel.
  6. Interesting, but I see no way the turntable assembly could work. The 20t bevel fits nicely IRL, but what could be the application? (once inserted the 20t no longer meshes properly with 12t bevel)
  7. 75253 - Droid Commander - R2-D2 (Boost) Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: None. Done with LDCad 1.6c Rendered with Studio
  8. I'm sure they know how to do that technically. real issues are copyright/IP ones... and I'm not competent for that ;)
  9. I am not against some payment, but I'd like to be able to test it first!
  10. This is the result of the 1kHz frequency of PWM (pulse width modulation) used to regulate speed of motors.
  11. I did add a pin pressing the switch, but it does nothing currently. Guess it needs a firmware update!
  12. It should change behaviour of firmware (thresholds): - Report a better charge percentage (currently, 90% charge level is reported for a 1/3 charged LiPo) - Shutdown hub below 6V or so to avoid overdischarge of batteries.
  13. There is no hard and dry answer to this... As for capacity my LiPo solution is no match since you can easily find NiMH AA cells with 3 times the capacity. But LiPo has an edge for weight or maximum current. Also charging time is faster, and lifetime longer (if well handled)
  14. Thanks @msk6003! To be sure I make no mistake... is this OK (edited photo below)? No number on cable retainer? Azure shaft can't be disassembled, but on your image 3.jpg I faintly see something on the side of shaft that could be the part number, can you have a look? This shows the current limiting device of the motor. Holds unlimited time at 0.5A, trips above 1A.
  15. Yes, please! Also, I would be really glad if you could read the tiny 5 digits part numbers on all case elements and output shaft!
  16. Thanks all... Unfortunately no. C+ hub should do that (it has a pin/switch to detect battery type) but it doesn't seem to be implemented in firmware. I guess it will be updated if/when LEGO provides a rechargeable battery. There is a chapter about that and other battery care considerations at the bottom of page. Same chip, same limitations... (low max voltage, low maximum current). OTOH, it is a really sturdy guy!
  17. Good news to have a non-edu source for Spike motors! I suppose they are in a more neutral color... I hope LEGO keeps the 0° position marking. Thanks, very interesting. So many new parts...
  18. I completed the page explaining how I constructed rechargeable LiPo battery packs for Powered Up and Control+ hubs. See it here!https://philohome.com/pupbat/pupbat.htm
  19. Too expensive I think (Leds, more memory, rechargeable battery)
  20. Makes sense because of the hub 4 ports limitation (I don't believe at all in a splitter cable!) Otherwise it could be a Spike Prime style motor?
  21. Actually the last version works with other file formats (eg. png) but file selection still defaults to bmp.
  22. There is also img4dat that converts a bitmap to LDraw pattern. Works pretty well if the source image is clean (such as illustrator image exported to bitmap). Seems awkward to convert vector to bitmap to kind of vector, but when it works... See https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-23242-post-31099.html#pid31099 .The tool itself is a bit rough on edges, but you can get used to it
  23. Stickers are supposed to be placed over normal, gap-less parts. @supertruper1988, You could get images images from Lasse tool and create stickers with @roland online tool (but that works only for flat stickers)
  24. @supertruper1988Yes, that's what @Lasse D converter does. Currently testing, worked fine on a modified Minecraft head...
