Motor driver inside hubs is current limited to a fairly low value (400mA continuous). So using 0.7/0.8 A per port is really safe. 1.5A for a pup hub, 3A for a C+ one.

Took me a while to find... go to the white tab, first is an "expander" block to add under motor selection.

The wait is over, thanks ;)

Using Relays With Lego PF
Philo replied to MaxBrix's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Chance is pretty low: motor driver inside receiver does include flyback diodes (see datasheet). After all, LEGO motors are also inductive devices! -

Dunno what's wrong with my file, when I open it as a zip I see the custom folder with parts inside, like in yours. Anyway... other method that I know to work fine, here is the custom parts folder containing the 42100 parts (and a few recent other ones you could find useful...). https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BY2kstW74rRNR5g5gWL1syaIEgePtIMl Add the contents to your CustomParts folder (located in C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Stud.io) I haven't tried to add connectivity on these parts, but you seem to know how to do that

I wouldn't expect weird behaviour. IR receiver "idle" power consumption should be very low anyway (about 17mA, see http://philohome.com/pfrec/pfrec.htm ). Motors themselves are much more tolerant and have no intrinsic voltage limitation. The main problem is overall power dissipation for a heavily loaded motor (dissipated power raises as the square of voltage...). My motor tests are done up to 12V (http://philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm).

Theoretical value is pretty low: the motor driver inside the IR receiver (LB1836M) has a 9V rating, with a 10.5V AMR (absolute maximum rating). So if you want to be on the safe side, you should never ever exceed that 10.5V limit.

This happens with that kind of switching power supply. Aluminium capacitors used often have a poor life time, shortening even more as temperature raises (divided by two for a 10° temperature increase!). Their electric losses raise, and finally they explode...

Here it is... https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AFjca46Tns4JiXwK2WUcATmUuVGWvVp- To use it, unzip it and place its contents in your C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Stud.io . BuWizz and PF connector parts will then be available in Custom Parts palette of Studio. @Tommy StyrvokyI hope you don't mind me highjacking your thread (and somewhat stepping on your toes ) ...and Sbrick already exists in LDraw, so I made a little parts pack with S-brick, S-brick+ and PF connectors, it is available here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zqznTvpj8voAT7_kCGyAlut-QjTVkCk2 To use it, unzip it and place its contents in your C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Stud.io . Sbrick and PF connector parts will then be available in Custom Parts palette of Studio. AI can do wonder from a simple photo... I often use Plantnet app to identify plants I see during my walks, and I am always amazed by its performance! Now I guess this is less useful for an expert!

Whoops, thanks for the heads up! A cut&paste error, this value applies to motor PWM signals, but VCC on the Pup connector is indeed 3.3V. Corrected! http://www.philohome.com/wedo2reverse/connect.htm
