Thank you for the great answer! The reason I'm looking for flesh pirates is because I'm trying to fill out the pirates on the Queen Anne's Revenge! I've looked a bit on PotC, but I don't want to use certain torsos too much.. I'm going to look into Prince of Persia, and great tips on LotR/Hobbit, I wouldn't even consider that!

Hi! I'm just wondering if you guys got any tips on what parts you use for your flesh pirate crews (there's bound to be some that likes flesh over yellow) I'm having a hard time finding fitting torsos since so many pirate torsos have skin showing and thus there's yellow on them. So what torsos are you guys using?

Which is Your Favorite Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Set?
Risgrynsgrot replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The only set that I think is okay is really Laketown Chase, not to mention it's the only set that actually portrays the movie, it's also very neat with some great minifigs. DGA has mediocre figs and is just a gray pile of bricks, DGB has better figs but is just a bigger, gray pile of bricks and the Mirkwood Elf Army has too many clone figs and the build is meh. So yeah, Laketown it is.- 54 replies

Don't be silly. The change from August to December regarding the TABA premier happened ages ago. LEGO has surely adapted, anything else would be ridicolous. There's NO way they'd release the sets for TABA almost half a year before the movie premiers.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Risgrynsgrot replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I kinda agree with Ondra. To me the design is pretty bad, it's too childish and goofy with that huge stern. To me, it looks like the design is for kids (it's probably very fun to play with) but the pricing is for AFOLs. Sure, it's a cool build, and most likely have tonnes of useful pieces for Pirate MOCs, but really I think you can get better parts for 250 bucks than this..- 2,626 replies

I do believe you're mistaken, I too have been following these movies very close and I do not recall seeing Galadriel in armor either.

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Risgrynsgrot replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's probably just because the hungarian site placed LOTR and Hobbit-sets in the same category. Lots of online shops in my country does that, too. -

The hungarian site has just merged the two categories LOTR and The Hobbit. It's very unlikely that it is Hobbit sets, why would they release them approx 2 months before the movies? It's almost certainly LOTR sets, the summer waves of 2014 (2013 Summer Waves came out in August in Hungary) -

Okay, that's totally a Balrog on the bottom left. -

That's a good point. Maybe LEGO originally planned two Hobbit waves for each movie with about 7-8 sets, and two LOTR waves with about 7-8 sets in the middle (summer) So maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get a final wave consisting of like 4 Hobbit sets and 3 LOTR sets -

That is indeed a crappy design. That hardly looks like Minas Tirith, it lacks some distinct, vital parts of the design.. In comparison Helms Deep is great, sure it's a tad small but it features the most important parts of Helms Deep.. Also you can't compare them, Helms Deep is much easier to make a set out of since Minas Tirith is over 10 times as big as Helms Deep.. -

So, the theme is basically confirmed dead. I find it very unlikely that they would release another wave of LOTR sets in conjunction with the last Hobbit movie (since they're already going to release like, atleast 5 Hobbit sets, there's way too many to release like 10 sets due to one movie) -
I just bought the Corsair Ship and the Black Gate set, I now officially have every single LOTR set released!

Now that's just being too hopeful. We'll get one more wave, if lucky. Once The Hobbit movies end there'll be no more LOTR or Hobbit LEGO, since there isn't any cartoon or similar to get kids to become interested after The Hobbit is done. -
I don't really know where to put this, so I'm going to do it here. Well, you've all probably heard of the LEGO Movie. And in that movie there's a mecha pirate called Metalbeard. And Metalbeard has a huge pirate ship (quickly seen at 1:55 in this trailer) Well, from the looks of this staff pic with the designers that designed the LEGO Movie sets, his pirate ship is going to be a set, and from the looks of it the flagship of this theme: http://i.imgur.com/7b49MFE.jpg

I have a hard time seeing a good Minas Tirith coming out.. It would either be far too small, or far too unfinished, there's no way to get proper amounts of levels + details even if they would use 2000 pieces.. -

It's smarter from a selling point, AFOLs might not want Hobbit Sets but they are going to want Sauron and Galadriel minifigs.. -

I'd want backprint on her face. Unfortunely, the fact that we haven't heard anything by now is a pretty big reason to assume that we won't get another LOTR wave. -
I'd like an Exclusive Smaug set for 150+ bucks. That way we could get a HUGE brickbuilt Dragon. It would only need Smaug, but maybe a small dragon treasure too? Like a brickbuilt little pile of treasure to put Smaug on.. Throw in some minifigs, maybe Bilbo in the Laketown outfit from DOS?
-
That's way too small. Make him 2 feet long, atleast.

Yazneg was the original design of Azog. They went trough dozens of designs, including the one with orange beard higher up on this page, before they scrapped everything and went with CGI. Yes, that design was Azog and was never the design of Bolg. However, you do get to see a non CGI-Bolg during the flashback to the dwarves trying to take back Moria in AUJ - Thrain is fighting him: http://images.wikia.com/lotr/images/b/b2/Bolg.png Altough he is now just an ordinary Orc, since they changed Bolg into CGI since it would look weird when they interacted. All is explained on the extra material on the AUJ Extended edition.
-
That is not the original version of Bolg, that is an earlier version of Azog.

I'm missing a bigger Galaxy Squad set.. What's the coolest one? Right now I'm moving towards the Hive Crawler, it looks like an awesome build.
