  1. Hi everyone! This is my recreation of the Spanish high speed train Renfe AVE 102 and 112 series, manufactured and designed by the Spanish rolling-stock company Talgo (which they name Talgo 350). The train is nicknamed as "Pato", which literally translates to "Duck" due to its characteristic nose design, which resembles the one of a duck, apparently it highly reduces air noise. About the train, it was introduced into service in 2005 and is currently the star of the Spanish high speed network (soon to be joined by the new generation train Talgo Avril 106 series) with Renfe having 46 units of them, reaching speeds of 360 km/h with an operational speed of 330 km/h. Amazingly, the train weights very little for it's size and, as with every Talgo, it enables low-flow boarding meaning the door is at the height of the floor, without extra stairs needed inside to access the main cabin, making it very accessible thanks to the special single independent bogie design. As of the MOC, it's a minifigure scale recreation and 7 studs wide. The nose was quite a bit of a challenge, but I think the result was pretty accurate to the real thing. The characteristic bogie system by Talgo is quite hard to make in Lego, with the single wheel configuration, so I can't say the way it is on the model will work perfectly, but doesn't seem to have any issues. It is based off Ferro-Friki's version for the Renfe Talgo S130. Hopefully I can build it one day and test it out!   2. Hey everyone! I’m happy to share with you a little something I’ve been working on. It’s one of the commuter (cercanías) trains we have here in Spain. I’m the most familiar with the units in Madrid, so that’s what I’ve tried to recreate. They’re nicknamed “El Buque” (The Ship). I can’t seem to get a reason why they’re called this, my theory is that they wobble like a boat does, and the single round window on the coaches reminds me of a ship as well. The 450s are some of the oldest trains in this service still around, and unfortunately, they will probably be retired relatively soon. There aren’t that many left running around Madrid, so they’re the least common ones you’ll find pulling into the station. As you can see they're double decker trains, and if I’m not mistaken, they were the only units with two floors in the country until the arrival of Ouigo’s Euroduplex. And to be honest, employing double decker trains for commuter services wasn’t that good of an idea, since each car only has a couple of doors on each side but twice as many seats, getting off and boarding at rush hour at a crowded station is a pain, so it’s probably for the better that they retire these units. Funnily enough, despite being old and a bit clunky, these trains are the fastest in the cercanías services, reaching 140km/h. Although they have a terrible acceleration, so they take a long time until they get there. And since they’re stopping and leaving constantly their average speed might be the lowest in the cercanías fleet. To be fair, in my opinion, these trains are perfectly good and reliable, the thing is that they just aren’t suited for the services they got designated to. In the outskirts of Madrid, where the distances between stops are much longer and there aren’t as many passengers to clog up the doorways, they really get their chance to shine. These trains used to be pulled by a regular locomotive, and on the tail end coach they had another cabin from which to control remotely the locomotive at the other end when traveling in the opposite direction. That way, there was no need to uncouple the locomotive and shunt it to the other side or employ two engines on either end. Later, in an effort to modernize the fleet, they got rid of the locomotive altogether and fitted the coaches on either end with all the necessary components to make the train run by itself as a single unit. The transformation wasn’t all the way though, and in a way, the unit still behaves like a conventional train being pulled and pushed at the same time by two locomotives that happen to be able to carry passengers too. You can tell at simple glance by the fact that both motor-cars carry their pantographs up when running, since there isn’t a high voltage line connecting them like modern units have. All in all, I find this train with all its quirks very interesting and loveable in a way, even if it’s begging to be put out of its misery… Which is why I tried to recreate it in lego! :)

    RENFE 252 V2

    I have the pleasure to present a Rework of my first MOC After several years I had to redesign a locomotive with more bricks, more length and more realism and more functions Length: 58studs Wide: 7 studs Weight: 1050g Pieces: around 1200-1300 Motor: 9v motor + PF train motor linked with a PF extensión wire This Scheme is famous by the Big locomotive series and number painted on sides, I could put a vinyl sticker but I decided to go further and make all lettering with pieces with all limitations of this More details Grill effect using Dark gray and DBG This locomotive is not going to run in R40 as is ridiculous due the length, but is necessary to me to run trough Lego switches so, boguie has all front attached to pass without problems trough them. I used custom lightning using SMD leds and coil wire to include realist lights with no pieces modification.     Renfe 252.057 - Spain

    Hello everyone, a month has passed and it's time to present the new locomotive ...as promised The European tour continue in Spain... ...also this time I've realized a replica (a CAD work made by Sergio Batista). His version is a red and grey Siemens CP5600, for me the livery is yellow and dark grey Renfe 252.057 The locomotive is 7 studs wide (one of my favorite size) The locomotive is equipped with lights, the switch and the receiver are hidden under the body The battery box is not from LEGO to better fits to the internal measures of the locomotive Here some pictures: Here some bonus pictures of the Renfe with a cereal's wagon in blue version and Granit Logo (design by Michael Gale) ...see you at the next event!

    [MOC] RENFE 151 "Santa Fe"

    Dear All, From the MTRkustoms train Factory i have the pleasure to announce my latest MOC, After some Spanish Train MOCs I wanted to make a Steam Locomotive, and I Started with the biggest and more powerful Spanish Steam, the “Santa Fe” 151 (French/Spanish) 2-10-2 (Whyte) This locomotive was able to pull a 450 tons train at 30km/h and a slope of 20mils The most difficult challenge was create a MOC that can run in R104 Blastemtrack, and R40 curves. To get the power I use a 9v dummy motor to pick up energy and 2 L PF Motors inside the boiler attached to the 9v pickup, is not a fast MOC, but is a very powerful Locomotive DIMENSIONS Locomotive length: 45 studs Tender length: 25 studs Total length: 70 studs Height: 9 bricks 7 wide Details To be a complete MOC I made some type of cars, 1 Closed boxcar, 5 open coal cars, and one caboose car. Details These 2 axle wagons have a flex hose coupling to be connected and allow Little turn of the axles. Also the coal wagons have an aperture system for the next project.     [MOC] RENFE 446 Cercanias

    Dear all EB users, From MTRkustoms Railworks we have the honor of presenting the RENFE 446 Cercanias Electric units, This train has an import significant for me as is the train where i pass a lot of time in my life in my daily travel to work. 446 series was a specially designed train to provide a proximity service in the early 80s and the previous series, the 440s were insufficient for the huge amount of passengers in the big cities of Spain. This units have 2400kW of power and a maximum speed of 100km/h. both side driving units and 3 pairs of doors in each car MODEL SPECS Lenght: 180 studs / 144cm Wide: 7 wide Height: 11 bricks (13 bricks with raised phantograph) Weight: 2200g Others: Turns in R40 but looks awful, much better in R104 or smooth curves. Dear all EB users, From MTRkustoms Railworks we have the honour of presenting the RENFE 594 diesel passenger train The 594 series of RENFE or TRD (regional diesel train) is a specially designed train to offer a regional sevice aka TRD. This series start the service in Spain in the end of the 90´s as a inovation in speed in the no electrified lines with a maximum speed of 160km/h. This train is based in the Danish ABB IC3 train.     MOC: RENFE 252 "Taxi" scheme

    hi, I present my new creation, an Spanish electric locomotive, the 252 series in taxi scheme. This is a commonly used locomotive in spain used for passengers principally and some times in double composition in transport. Specs: Lenght: 49 studs Width: 7 studs Height: 13 bricks with lowered pantograph and 16 bricks with elevated pantograph Pieces: aprox 850 Modified or not lego parts: 9 pieces (not include leds) PF ready with 1 or 2 motors and easily convertible to 9v custom led lights and power output to other wagons.
