    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

What is an "official leaker"? surely an "official leak" is a press release...

    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

Do people think the leaked Ollivander minifigure might be a free gift with purchase when the Harry Potter sets are released? I think this is the only figure that we haven't seen turn up in a set and there's been no other figures leaked that might be in the CMF series, which would make it a little odd (but not impossible) that Ollivander is from that.(?)

    2018 Creator Sets

For the pirate rollercoaster, I was hoping the balloons would be replaced with the new moulded ones from the CMF line in the final set but oh well. It also appears that the carts have changed colour from white to grey (or sand blue?) from the preliminary pictures Hope to also see final pics of the treehouse soon. I think it's meant to have the same release date?

Useful Pirate Pieces from other Themes?

I've been having a play with adding a guard (ring piece or open stud) to the machete piece from the jungle sets to use as a cutlass. What do people think?
  6. Your URL appears to link to the website for Singapore. The UK is /en-gb/ and has the "buy bricks" option available.
  7. I think I've seen one of those giant bags here in the UK in the front window of a department store to advertise they're selling the mini-figures. I took it to be a bit like a big balloon type construction. I don't imagine there's anything but air inside.
  8. Disappointed with the Arabian knight, though having now seen it I'm not sure if that's what we should have expected. It's not a long way off the guards in Disney's Aladdin, using existing molds and admittedly some nice leg printing. In my head I had something more like an armored Saracen warrior but perhaps this figure is more easily identifiable by the age demographic. I have no use for the hiker but have to say that is a great figure. Mixed feelings about the pirate; as pirate figures go this is definitely a nice one but it doesn't really offer that much over all the ones we've got from the Pirate sets.
  9. It's definitely not printed. If you look carefully it extends beyond the top left corner of the front of the torso. I don't see anything to suggest it's not the old cutlass but I don't think it can be confirmed and it's possible it's a new one with a different hilt but similar blade.
  10. Hi all, this was motivated by looking at Tomcats comic Do people plan on combining the Royal Guard minifigure with the Imperial Guards? If so do you plan to use the minifigures together unchanged or do you plan on using components of the Royal Guard minifigure to add variety to the Imperial Guard soldiers? Below is a picture of what I'm doing, I'm using the Royal Guard's head on an Imperial Guard's body to make a grenadier and using the Royal Guard's torso with an Imperial Guard head to make a dragoon. I plan on using these alongside the regular Imperial Guards (2009 wave) in a future MOC. Would be great to know how other people plan on combining them.

2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion

I agree with this. I can see the potential in the sets to be comparable with 2009 and I'm excited to see the new minifigures which the prelims suggest should include lots of new designs. This for me is a big plus compared to re-using the redcoats of 2009 which could have easily been the case. I am a little disappointed the ship currently resembles the 2009 one so strongly but saying that I thought that was a good ship, especially for the money and better than the POTC ones so I can't complain really. For anyone who missed the 2009 one, which is most of the target market, this will be great.

    10245 Santa's Workshop: Press Release

I wonder if the white fur on Santa's torso will actually be white unlike the CMF where in any I've seen at least it always seems a pinky colour... Comparing the white on the torso to the white of the beard in the video seems to suggest it will still be pinky...
  13. I think more children's fictional sources set around the 18th and early 19th century would need to exist now outside of fantasy pirates on the high seas in order for TLC to seriously consider a 'Europa' style theme. It's conceivable that you might get some sets close to it though in a theme also featuring pirates but with some coastal sets of a more civilian nature than the typical soldiers fort that's been done before and it would probably need to be European rather than loosely Caribbean set.
  14. I may have misinterpreted the post but as I originally read it I thought they were referring to being pleased about a relative drop in UK prices rather than about an increase in US prices. i.e. I believe the figures were originally $2 in the US and £2 in the UK making the UK prices about 1.7 times the US prices, now they are $4 in the US and £2.5 in the UK making the UK prices about 1.05 times the US prices. So essentially they're pleased that although they doubled the US price they didn't double the UK one. I guess since LEGO is a European company then perhaps it makes more sense to see the US prices set off the European prices (Incidentally I don't know if the prices in £ track the euro) and therefore perhaps you guys are right and this should instead be seen more predominantly as a relative US price increase rather than a relative UK price decrease. Since the US price was brought up on this page first though then I at least was interpreting the UK price off of the US price, if that makes any sense. All that aside, I think it is still possible for a customer in Europe to see a US price increase as a good thing if a number of other things are true that I have no idea as to whether or not they actually are. For instance if the rise in US retail price is seen as a result of an increase in demand in the US market leading to TLC rising supply (along with price) to meet it, then that increase in supply could mean a reduction in their production cost per product leading to TLC increasing their overall profitability and that could potentially lead to some benefit for European customers in product or price. So while I'm not advocating that this last paragraph is a true reflection of the actual state of things, rather more of a devil's advocate interpretation, I still refute the claim that one country's prices has no affect on anywhere else for a worldwide product and the original comment was perhaps not as daft as some of you are suggesting. (sorry for double post)
  15. The (slightly better quality) image from page 19 is still available.
  16. I'm not a fan of the fabric skirt elements either. The capes are fine but the fabric skirts, despite looking good in the promotional images, never look coherent with the rest of the figure in real life.
  17. Thanks for the review. Decent series but terrible distribution!
  18. Great to see the the complete set! My favourites are the scarecrow, the tiki warrior and the bobby.
  19. I think the picture is showing them on display for £1.99. (around 2.37 euro...)

    Damaged Armor?

All of the Urak Hai Polybags in the Sun promotion I got had this mark. I didn't mind too much as they were so cheap. None of the other armour breastplates I have, have this mark.
  22. Personally I think it would make sense to wait until there's more details before discussing this or trying to obtain peoples opinions.

    Building a LEGO bishop/clergy

Keeping it quite simple, I think something like one of these could work well for clergy.
  24. Multiple tin soldier minifigures will cost more and be harder to get multiples. Multiple revolutionary soldiers will however be far easier to get multiples of cheaply. (There was uncertanty over whether the tin soldier or the revolutionary soldier was in the book, the other will be in CMF 10). I regard this as very good news too though I already expected it. I think the tin soldier is far more fitting for this.
