    LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Well, I guess we will have to wait until April, if even that. This wave better be good, considering Monkey Kid could actually act as competition app wise.

Has anyone here heard of the the Cancelled Leo Island TV show?

    Monkey Kid (“Leaf”) Theme Discussion

A little theme called Ninjago. Besides that, many mechs and other sized vehicles have dominated many other people Lego themes.

Yet another anime- inspired theme will cover shelves.

Agreed. Remember, the logo has nothing to do with sci fi.

    Monkey Kid (“Leaf”) Theme Discussion

None of the summer Ninjago listings have any more sets under the Prime Empire aesthetic, so there won't be any more confusion. As for this wave, Monkey Kid will probibly follow the "anime" concept of futuristic characters traveling through an old and broken land. Remember, Monkey Kid has an AR app, and I doubt a science fiction story can use those correctly. Overall, we need more info before we judge this theme yet.

The one thing I do not get is, if they are going to make this another futuristic based world, why is the logo so cartoony? At least with Nexo Knights or Hero Factory, we got a mechanical looking logo, while the one we are getting looks like a kiddie anime. I theorize that when set leaks come out, they will be in a somewhat traditional setting. Maybe the good guys travel from a fairly modern to science fiction city through ruins and natural terrain. I am confident we will get less modern - looking leaks, all we need is patience.

Unfortunately, Ninjago's next wave will take place in a DnD type setting, and there aren't any new sets planned in the video game style. My theories are A.) this takes place in the Nexo Knights setting, B.) this is future Chima, or C.) Monkey Kid is anime! The LAST thing we need in the Lego landscape is for a theme like Hidden Side to get replaced by another Ninjago like theme.

    LEGO Ninjago 2020

Well, it seems we are getting trolls and Goblins in this wave. I have a feeling this wave will be like the 2007 Castle theme with a more complex story and darker sets.

    LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Depending if Hidden Side's AR was practice for the real "big bang" theme, this makes perfect sense.

Well I am glad TLG knows Hidden Side has potential (despite mixed success.)

Then she could have an updated ghost form in the app once the set is purchased. Otherwise, if this is the final wave, it would fee incomplete. Considering this wave seems to be the last, I feel like the only other way to complete the theme would be to introduce a larger enemy...

    LEGO Hidden Side 2020

To be fair, if Hidden Side does end in the Summer, it will end with 5 sets (the smallest wave in the theme's history.) While I wanted Hidden Side to have a proper show, we seem to be stuck with these Bionicle g2 shorts covering each set like a commercial. I am positive all of the sets will each have a short considering how shot and cheap most of them are. While I agree Nexo Knights had a lackluster final wave, it was mostly because of how repetitive most of the sets were. With Hidden Side, you have a clear aesthetic with most of the sets being distinct enough to not feel boring. If these sets are at least good builds with distinct charm, I would say the wave could be good. We just have to wait for pictures.

I do not have any connections with TLG, but I do not think Hidden Side will have any sets in 2021. First of all, we are in a drought in non licenced themes. Instead of giving us options, all we have (other than Creator) are Repetitive City, Poorly - Marketed Friends, Confused Ninjago, and the one special theme that comes every 3 years. Considering how early we are getting Monkey Kid, it seems Lego is ether changing their theme release from 2.5 years to 1.5 years, or Hidden Side was nothing but training for Monkey Kid's AR feature. Also, if Lady E is a proper minifigure in the Castle, that set would make a proper Climactic ending. So, I guess we might see Hidden Side's end soon. Let's hope this is a wave to remember.
