Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Legoanonymous replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If Jamie is designing the Hotel, than I would expect a story of some kind to go with it. However, whatever story they choose and its consequences on the set are unknown. -

I did not notice that before. It looks sand blue, but we will see tomorrow. It would be exciting if it is though! -

Okay, thank you. I like the colors and architecture that give it a Gothic feel. If the image is real though, who knows what American audiences will think with the controversies. -

Where did you get that photo from? It looks to be online sales, but that would be too early. -

If this is true, the building's color scheme confirm it to be a police station. I like how the architecture is at least classical and unique though. Do you remember what country's police force was being referenced, or was the image too low in quality to tell? -

The building silhouette looks interesting, especially with that chimney. However, is it just me, or does the image look to be at a corner? -

If we are receiving a police station, but @theremin is correct with the Italian architecture, we may be receiving one of the most fascinating police based sets of all time. Now that certain areas of the report are invalid, it will probably not be Italian based. It would be very interesting if it was though, especially without the typical Americana based police stations in the City theme. -

Since there are so many animals, what if there was a twist that Monkie Kid takes place in the Chima relm. After all, we only saw one piece of the world with the theme, so humans can still be plausible. On top of that, Chima had many references to Chinese mythology as well. If we get more builds that seem like Chima, it will confirm this is Chima 2.0. -

I agree. I just believe this theme will fail like it or not. Fear with China, the closing of most Lego stores, long wait times for sets, and the overwhelming prices will possibly make this theme release one of the worst in modern Lego history. Also, what is this theme's aesthetic? The bike, bull king, mech and cloud jet look like they come from anime, but the food truck and the HQ look like they belong in a city. Red Son's truck looks like a Mad Max vehicle with a retro color scheme, and the Iron Bull tank looks like an early Chima set. At least Ninjago had clear theaming in it's first wave. Depending on how the story goes, I would like future waves with a clearer idea, especially if Lego wants this theme to do well. -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020

If you look at the left bottom corner of the castle's box, you can see the castle is mostly light grey. This is disappointing. I expected the castle in to at least be black and azure matching with the villains. Why do we still have the horrible boxes?! One of the most special things about HS was its unique aesthetic. Every set seemed worn in the first wave, with every realistic set having features that made it old and realistic. The ghost elements were easy to hide but made the builds cartoony and refreshing. Wave two was similar, but had exceptions. The only sets this wave that carry the aesthetic are the castle and maybe the prison. While I hope in a 2 year to 2.5 year scenario, this theme can not die in such a way. -

I didn't expect so much scenery for the submarine, but considering how lacking the city sets are with underwater ecosystems, I like it. The hot rod looks decent and I like how vintage it looks compared to other cartoony Lego vehicles. As a fan of the first wave of sets, I love the prison, but it seems too disconnected from the rest of the wave. The fire truck looks okay, but it is far inferior to the PIB 3000. The giant looks great though. I have a feeling that the staffs in the submarine and fire truck have a major role in the plot, whether they will stop the army or cause their supremacy. The castle might have the answers to this new plot. -
Considering the season is based on Dungeons and Dragons, perhaps Magic and Monsters?

The angler fish is glow in the dark, and huge compared to a minifigure. Maybe both the shark and the angler fish are in the submarine. -

The minifigure has the blond ponytail piece, and printing showing a brown bag. It is also under #legominifigures -

Before the high quality big dog leaked, a minifigure with a blue jumpsuit and a band around her head was leaked. Could this be a main character? -

Interestingly, I feel like both Monkey Kid and new Ninjago are trying to appeal to Nexo Knights fans. Keep in mind Hidden Side was a distraction from the modern Lego formula. If Lego saw the mixed results of Hidden Side, they might want to continue the safe idea of a futuristic Ninjago, which was made into Nexo Knights. -

Hopefully. I at least expect episodes like Hidden Side. But if TLG wants to keep this theme such a secret, there better be one. -

Wasn't there supposed to be a hot rod set coming out? It could be referring to the car found in the short. -

Technically, those set names are placeholders. The builds may have a different aesthetic. -

Is there a "wise mentor" figure in Journey of the West? Because if there is, I see a story where this kid must find the "inner spirit of the Monkey" or something like that. At least he fits in Ninjago City? -

I wonder if this interpretation takes place in the Chima relm. -
Keep in mind the design for the ghost could be preliminary. Considering many old Lego sets had secret rooms where ghosts and skeletons lurked, it's plausible this could be a token to that. Also, as someone who follows Hidden Side, I doubt it looks like anything that could be in there.

Keep in mind the Corona Virus has slowed down production. Even Amazon is taking slowly, so I suspect they are keeping everything they have made especially secret. -
A new centaur has been leaked. Looks interesting.

To be fair, you could say we are already in a soft reboot since the end of the Oni Trilogy.
