LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Perhaps when I get my UCS Tie Fighter, Yularen can pilot it, I've always respected leaders who go into battle also. On a more serious note I agree that gaining an Imperial Officer is always a welcome sight and the more variation the better!

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

I bought the UCS Slave 1 and Red Five X-Wing during the double points. The Slave 1 was a must buy and here in Australia I was too impatient to wait for a retailer to pick it up in 6 months time, similarly with the Red Five X-Wing I plan on getting the upcoming UCS Tie Fighter and thought one couldn't go without the other. That means I'll have a reasonably discounted UCS Tie Fighter to purchase in May and in the mean time two incredible Star Wars sets to tide me over!

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion

As a long time Jurassic Park fan, I must say these new sets really have me excited! I was in my dark ages when the 2012 Dino sets came out. So I am really excited to a. Get some great looking dinosaurs and b. get some cool albeit generic enclosures and vehicles. I must say one of the absolute stand outs is the gyrosphere and I can't wait to both them! Living in Australia these sets will be super costly, but as someone earlier said I'd rather buy them at the RRP (or lower when on sale) then in a few years at rather outrageous prices! As for the minifigure that comes with the Video Game, despite getting the same character another amber in sap piece is exciting!

    LEGO Hobbit 2014

D2C simply means Direct to Consumer, In America I believe this means the set is exclusive to Lego stores (ie. their own store) and not other retailers. The title is usually reserved to large, exclusive sets. Here in Australia D2C and probably in other countries eventually leak out to retailers as we don't have LEGO stores here and while online shopping is popular for LEGO most parents go to big chain retailers to purchase toys (which is silly as Amazon is by far the cheapest way to get LEGO ;) ). Hope that helps.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Me neither, just seems waste of a chance to make something truly amazing especially for $200 US which here in Australia is like $330 which is absurd for a black vehicle that simply looks similar to the film zzzz. Also why do we have all these dc UCS, meanwhile I think we all savor an amazing Marvel UCS such as a Stark Tower.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

I personally would prefer UCS Cloud City or a remake of the Battle of Endor with a UCS quality AT-ST then another Slave 1 model...

    [75059] Sandcrawler

I'm waiting for double VIP points again before I drop the $450 for it as it would effectively save me $45 (10% off) one question I had was does anyone know if it is easy to motorise or whether the interior space was built with that sort of MOC in mind?

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Just so we are clear is it usual for lego to release to Star Wars UCS sets per year? That been said considering last years Ewok Village, and this years Sandcrawler I was hoping for a UCS Slave 1 that also had a collection of exclusive minifigures. In particular the dream would be to get all the bounty hunters from Empire in the one set and considering the SSD recently retired is that a possibility?! One can hope I suppose haha!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Thanks J2G for that great review your photos and video really make the movie sets more appealing then the prelims did! However due to budget and lack of serious interest in this theme I'll probably have to skip on them that been said I think these are a lot more appealing to general lego fans then the two waves of comic sets were.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

If the price point of $200 is true I believe something incredibly substantial needs to be presented for that sort of money, as others have stated something in the vein of Arkham Asylum would be far more attractive then a collection of vehicles and mini figures simply due to the fact that kids and more importantly parents would rather spend 20-70 on batman vehicles then 200, where as if if it were a playset or large building (I personally would love to see perhaps a detailed bank heist (modular bank), or even a Wayne Manor) I believe it would sell better at least in my opinion I'd be unwilling to shell out that sort of cash for a vehicle or vehicles a playset or display piece I would be willing to however.

    Ninjago 2014

Awesome I love printed window pieces so much better than stickers! I ended up nabbing the set in Australia for just lower than the US which is an amazing deal and combined with x-1 charger the nindroid invasion of the temple looks epic! On a different topic is there any news if the theme is continuing this winter as in was the revival a seasonal thing or a long term commitment?

Are there many stickers in the set? But you've basically sold it to me haha!
  14. Hello fellow EB members! I am a relatively new member (though I've stalked numerous threads for about a year now ;) ). I am in my early 20's and have only recently escaped my dark ages due to finally having the money to buy all the huge, awesome sets that I dreamed about when I was a kid. I am from Australia so my fight and gruelling battle to pay reasonable prices has been my crusade for the past year and thanks to the generous discounts amazon provides I have ended up with many a sets and uncountable hours of fun! I am a university student studying Biomedicine so my free time is rare and precious however I spend most of it building, reading, reviewing lego and currently collect Star Wars, Hobbit/LOTR, The Lego Movie and Article theme as well as the occasional super hero set. However I must say my greatest discovery and joy of recent is the incredible modular buildings as well as the fairground mixer. I display most of the sets I own which include the Death Star (2008), Sea Cow, Helms Deep, Orthanc Tower, a few of the modulars and Star Wars vehicles and I am currently trying to source a arkham asylum and ewok village to continue my display. I joined EB to engage in discussion of up and coming sets as well as to hopefully potentially provide reviews on sets that seem to have been missed (new ninjago wave, Ultra Agents etc.) and would also love to give a perspective that is given from someone on a limited budget and does not live in the glorious USA of cheap lego :P. I hope to talk with a lot of you over the next few months and look out for some of my reviews once I get my camera up and running again! Until next time see you under a pile of bricks ;)!

    Ninjago 2014

I've seen plenty of pictures but I'm just wondering once it is all built does it look like a worthy display piece or more of a playlet, I love the look of the temple but having only bought one previous ninjago set (temple of light) and been incredibly underwhelmed I don't want to shell out the cash (especially in Australia) if it isn't a leasing display piece. Also was the build enjoyable?
