Damn right... Vikings were the prototype to Pirates...

Bearded, generally hairy, always a little annoyed(or a lot...), sailed in cool looking ships, raided small villages and ships(not 100% sure... did VIkings do this?), and you did NOT want to mess with them.

All around megablocks kicking for both.

I still wish the Viking Lego line was more Castle-based so they would fight humans not not dragons/monsters... it would be great to have a small seaside castle with Royal archers defending against the Longboat...

Oh well... October 26th and still not Viking Lego in Winnipeg. I'm beyond angry.

Phes, I have no heard your story of Pirate Lego... I would be interested in hearing it(err... reading).

Pirates introduced firearms, faces other than standard smileys, sails and raised baseplates to the Lego world! And all of it happened in one year. And all of these ideas were later reused in other lines. Even the very specialised hull pieces are now used in Vikings. The line should be favoured by these facts alone.

Pirates would appear somewhat more discussable in this forum at the moment.  Now why is that?

Because castle lovers are friendly and polite and occassionally enjoy looking at sub themes :-D

You actually enjoy looking at the Mighty Morphin Power Ranges in Knights Kingdom II?

Here Mr Stingalingling, I've made a thread with the extended version of my story:

How Mister Phes grew to love Pirate LEGO...

Originally I posted it in a thread where I asked everyone how they became interested in LEGO. But screw it! My story deserves an entire thread to itself since its so epic!

But if you're interested in the original thread then go to

How did you become interest in LEGO?

I have went to the ClassicCastle Message board briefly... WOW, some of their MOC's, paticularily those Knight figs look really, really good!

Castle almost definately has more options as far as minifigs go... I'm trying to change that with my slowly growing MOC's... but it requires ordering torso's to see if they will work well with what I am doing... the Black Sam Sinister one from Orient Expedition is excellent so far... I have many others to try out...

Yes, castle has more sets and more sub-themes so its only logical that it has more mini-figure options. However, I find a lot of castle heads would work nicely on pirate mini-figures. As do some Western and Adventurer heads!

And many pirate figs fit castle scenes... see my brickshelf gallery!

Hrm...

Hard to vote. I loved the Castle line, especially the ninja line. But I've also become very enamoured of a few pirate sets. Hard decision.

Akkh.

Castle is great. I voted for castle, but I like pirate LEGO to. It's not fair to have them both on a poll. Their both too good. But gotta love those knights. ;)

Eldorado Fortress is a great set. I bought one at a second hand store. Came with fithteen blue coat imperial soldiers. Pretty good condition to. Best second hand buy I ever had.

I voted for castle. I like castle more because I never got any of the pirate sets.

Mr Babyjawa, I fear your situation is critical and you need to get some pirate sets immediately otherwise you may perish!

Those who say that Pirates isn't as cool to MOC as Castle - please check this link:

PIRATE DOCKS

I didn't do it - I just found it

Hmm, the net tends to not facilitate my manner of banter. I meant I don't care for the power rangers but like pirates, both of which are subinterests of castle...

God Bless,

Nathan
