No offense- It's your opinion, after all, but I'm SHOCKED that you'd place the marvels over wakanda forever. I didn't think it was "pure cinema" like a lot of the fanbase (though I also thought Black Panther 1 was overrated and a pretty standard MCU movie), but it felt a lot more coherent to me than most of the post-endgame MCU. My ranking would be

No offense, they're just movies and everyone rightly has their own tastes :-) I hated WF, I think everything is wrong with that movie, it's the first Marvel movie I didn't watch when it arrived on Disney Plus, it makes me too nervous: -D but on the other hand, I loved Lego sets

What Ronan minifigure?

The red marks on his chest is a great omission from the designers.

his skin tone and face is an upgrade. Ill add them to my 2014 fig. With quick silver on the way too, are lego doing 2014 and 2015 marvel sets in 2024? Lol

This is one of the biggest minifigure downgrades I've ever seen.

It's infuriating when LEGO makes a minifigure, and somehow it's much worse than the same version of that character, but from 10 years ago. :jollyroger:

No moulded armour, just a plain hood. No red markings on the torso. The face print is awful, especially the mouth section.

The user who posted Ronan also has Rogue on his profile. I still can't accept that Lego approved that hair print >_< I want to hope it's a manufacturing defect...

Ronan isn't bad!

The dark green instead of green is more of a preference, but I think using the Palpatine head is a pretty solid improvement. I also beefed up his glider a bit to make the shape more accurate.

Breaking up the shades of green is a subtle yet significant improvement, nicely done. Glider mod looks good too, although ironically I feel like the original face print is the best aspect of the minifigure.

Just wading into the MCU quality discussion briefly, but I definitely agree things have been incredibly shaky post-Endgame. Some diamonds in the rough - NWH, Loki, etc. but my investment is at an all-time low. Saying that, there’s no denying content critique in this day and age is far harsher than it was pre-Endgame; even the ‘worst’ Infinity Saga film are still considered to be decent at worst, those very same films would be critically torn to shreds in 2023.

Not surprised that Ronan just uses the post-2019 hood piece. Lego Marvel as a whole has been quite stingy with new moulds as of late. Ignoring the CMFs which get their own budgets anyway, I think the only real new figure mould we’ve had this year is bigfig Hulk’s hair?

Also, finally built this year’s Quinjet and I love it. Couldn’t afford the original as a kid and this is an upgrade in pretty much every way. Would’ve paid £10-20 more for a more detailed interior and Hawkeye but honestly beyond those and the gap for the rear landing gear, the set is perfect for me.

I want to see more of these sub-£100 ‘vehicle’ sets with the same value for money.

The design of the print is disappointing for sure but I get that there's likely limitations to how much of that particular mold can be covered.

I just hope we don't see Rogue's hairpiece reused for the other female characters that may be coming in the X-Mansion. Its overused enough as it is and there are much better alternatives that can be used for Jean, Emma and Mystique.

I’d surprised if it wasn’t reused for Jean, (at the very least) given that it actually somewhat resembles her look in X-Men ‘97.

Assomiglia a malapena all'acconciatura di Rogue.

I agree with both, that toupee is obsolete, I can accept it for generic characters but not for characters with more personality... But as wrong as it may be, for me it's less annoying than the white part, that seems like a misprint. And the most irritating thing is that Rogue -from a certain point of view- is the real selling point of a controversial set...

I still think the Narcissa print would have worked better

Hopefully they go with Firestar's instead. That one resembles Jean's 97 look a lot better and it is still currently available in red thanks to the Daily Bugle.

I don't think we've had a red version of Rogue's piece in production since Poison Ivy in 2019.

I quite like the new Ronan minifig, despite the old specialised hood piece being so much better :hmpf_bad: Eh.

Them going back to GotG however gives me hope for some good Infinity Saga sets in the summer! My biggest wish right now is a Kaecilius minifig. Not an extremely important character in the grand scheme of things, I know, but after the utter betrayals that were the Fantastic Beasts and Indy themes, it would be our best chance for a Mads Mikkelsen minifig!

Unless we suddenly get a full-fledged 007 theme or a Galen Erso minifig, but Kaecilius is definitely the most likely option

Its sad that Marvels didnt get a little more toy love. It doesnt stand out to me as a huge merchandisable movie but it sure seems like Marvel anticipated it not getting much love, and I'd bet anything that was due in part to the baclash Brie/women-led movies have gotten.

I thought it was great and definitely one of my fav Multiverse saga movies. I'd probably put it in my top 3-4.

It's sad we didnt get a Dar Benn minifig. Looks like Lego is slowly going back to fill the missing figs when they can but who wants to wait 5 years for a Modok or Dar Benn

I'm so glad I have the old Ronan. Do we know what set this new, lesser version is supposed to be coming in?

I haven't commented yet on Rogue. She looks great, it's just too bad LEGO is horrendous when it comes to print opacity. It's one of those things that is just downright inexcusable. It's not that they aren't capable of doing a better job, they're just being cheap at the cost of their "premium" product looking cheap. It's honestly why I hardly ever complain about stickers on sets since stickers at least have an appropriate level of oppacity

Loro che tornano a GotG, tuttavia mi dà speranza per alcuni buoni set di Infinity Saga in estate! Il mio più grande desiderio in questo momento è un minifig di Kaecilius.

In my opinion Ronan is a very bad sign, from this point of view! The MCU Guardians have 3 major villains, and only one had a minifigure. If lego chose to remake Ronan, it means they have no real interest in filling in the gaps :-/

È triste che non abbiamo preso una minifig di Dar Benn.

A complete collection with all the MCU villains is one of my dreams, but after losing Kang and the High Evolutionary, the lack of Dar Benn is no longer a big problem :-/

Wow, new Ronan is huge downgrade from 2014 version. How's it possible that we have worse minifigure 10 years later? Why not bring back his hood/armour combo mold? Lego is so cheap these days with minifig quality...

Not really. The Warbird only appeared in the first GotG, so it makes sense for Ronan to be included! That doesn’t mean a GotG Vol 2 set (featuring Ego) won’t be released further down the line

Yes, yes, hypothetically anything could happen... but with all the subjects related to the Guardians, they chose one that offers nothing new. I'm not saying you can't keep hoping, I'm just saying it's not a good sign...

  • The lighter skin colour is an improvement more closely matching the tone of the character.
  • The level of detail of the costume is an improvement, however it's notably based on his extremely brief appearance in Captain Marvel where he did not have the red marks on him.
  • They even added front of foot detailing on this version, the old version didn't have that.
  • The Hood is a downgrade, use the other version
  • The face is an odd situation, original I think carries more menace, but the eyes are more accurate on the new version (For when he has the Power Stone)
  • I believe they were going for that kind of expressionless look he had on the poster whih is why the mouth is done weirdly.

Once again it's a weird sorta partial upgrade similar to Ultron MK1.

I'd guess the appeal would be if you want a custom Ronan from his brief appearance in Captain Marvel (Or potentially his second in command from that scene) but neither have the war-paint at that time so you'd have to find a different head and still buy the old helmet piece :L

Thank you!

I dunno. I think it's not bad, but not "wrinkly" enough if that makes sense. Palpatine's face has more of a goblin-like look IMO.

I don't even believe it works for captain marvel. In Captain Marvel his armor has a dark green tint reminiscent of the Kree from the comics.

The re-used hood I can handle, but I'm disappointed in the lack of war paint. That's either an extremely careless omission or lego being worried people might think it's blood, which is also a bad justification for not including it.

They probably just wanted to give us the non-war paint variation of the costume, as for the lack of dark green tint they probably didn't notice.
