Another Norwegian - this time a "girl"

Recommended Posts

I might look like the latest addition from the LegoWorld gathering i Oslo in the beginning of May, but I actually did posted my first Eurobricks-post in mid April.

My name is Anne, and I live in the middle of Norway (aka. Trondheim), together with my fellow AFOL/LTS (depends on his mode) Howard, in a house way too small for our extended LEGO-collection. I've been hanging around Lugnet, Brikkelauget and other sites since we came out of our dark ages - that would have been around the turn of the century. Despite being called a "girl" by copmike I am in my late 30's.

When it comes to my MOC's I tend to build town-related stuff. I got my account here at EB activated because this pub, and at LegoWorld it was enclosed by quite a few English inspired houses.

I tend to be active in forums with a bit of unpredictable intensity, with two jobs and in periods a very busy schedule, but I look forward to read even more discussions here at EB!

Velkommen til EB Anne Jorunn!

I guess it's time for the Swedes to get worried about the steadily rising number of Norwegians here

Ha ha, yeah. Maybe they should start recruiting - I've noticed Copmike is in the process of starting up something like that at SweLUG, altough he wants to make sure they register here as well if it's going to be any help.

Anne, I know for sure you're going to enjoy it here. People on these forums have the exact same type of humour as you do.

Welcome to the best most beloved (at least by me) Lego site on the web, it's always nice to have another SFOL here on the boards. :classic:

That town layout is simply epic, kudos for such a massive undertaking.

On another note, what other themes are you into besides Town?

Great to see another AFOL rediscovering lego and joining EB. I  that Pub with all of its cool details.

I also echo Tarrful's question, any other themes that interest you?

Thank you ever so much (both you and others) for the nice words about my "English quarter"

Our AFOL-life actually started with tecnich (with a homemade advent calendar back in 1999), but that is mainly my husband’s interest. In 2001 we did invest in our first train (a 4561 – iiiikkk!), and already then we said something in the line of “We can afford this train set on sale, but we can not afford to start collecting trains”. Since then we’ve invested in just about every 9v train set that’s been available (for a deeper insight our Lugnet-set list is available) – but I do not do much train MOC’s as of now.

I grew up with the 70's villas, the Homemaker and Fabuland-sets and eventually some town. Entering my dark ages around 1984, I do not belong to any of the classic trenches when it comes to “childhood loves”. I never had any space or castle or pirates... although I did have the Indian family. And in early days as an AFOL the 3739 was quite a revelation!

I tend to like quite a few of the adventure sets - all the way back to the Egypt series that was for sale when we came out. Lately I tend to get sets that look interesting, and I enjoy the creator houses and quite a few of the other creator sets, and off course the Cafe Corner and its followers. I am way past the state of building everything at the moment I come home from the store. I have unopened boxes all over, but like to build sets to see the Lego designers' technique. Lately I’ve been getting the Indy sets and quite a lot of town and castle. But in the end I like to build my own stuff and fill it with enough female minifigs to resemble real life :sweet:

Hope this gives a bit more insight in my angle on Lego theme

Nice to meet you Anne, welcome!

Those creations of yours are fantastic, I really like your attention to detail. I'm into Star Wars myself but anyone can appreciate the excellent work you've put into those... so much to look at!

Well, enjoy your time here. See you on the boards!
