It's September in the UK, but July for the US according to the Amazon preorder dates.

Interesting!  I decided not to preorder because it’s not going to sell out any time soon, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the US release gets pushed back to September, anyway.  

As far as Diagon Alley is concerned, one of my most wanted buildings is actually the Leaky Cauldron with an interior of some kind.  I know it’s not the most exciting place, but it’s the only one that features in Prisoner of Azkaban, my favorite movie.  

It would be AMAZING if they included a minifigure of that random minifigure reading “A Brick History of Time: By Stephen Blocking,” but that will never happen.  (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go rewatch the scene where Tom the Inkeeper escorts Harry through the parlor and up the stairs).

You mean this scene where famous UK-rocksinger Ian Brown from the Stone Roses reads the book in the first seconds of the clip?

Yeah I’ve been wanting The Leaky Cauldron as well, although I’ve kinda been convinced otherwise by people on here. The reason I want it is because it provides the connection to the outside world. But I understand that it’s less interesting than some of the others. I would love if they at least included the brick wall and it opens up using some mechanism, as it’d at least provide an entrance (and is a really significant part of it imo!)

Personally I would be very happy if the Leaky Cauldron was included

It comes out July 7 here in Canada, so I'd assume the 6 in the US?

While we wait for some new Harry Potter news here is my latest moc. I finished my custom Burrow. I actually really like the offical set but I can never leave the Harry Potter stuff alone. Blended two sets but it did need lots of extra bits to finish the roof and walls. Its fully enclosed, both sides open up on the ground floor and the side wall of the top sections. Interiors up on instagram @micmacpadwac. 

I just saw the new Super Mario line revealed and they have a blind bag series for it. If they release in august they surely would not have the Harry potter blind bag running at the same time. Hope it isn't delayed now :(

That’s not a minifigure series, though. It’s buildable characters. It’ll be like in 2018 when the Unikitty blind bags and HP/FB series 1 ran at the same time.

You’ve actually stumbled across one of the things that irk me about the movie adaptation. In the books Ginny’s Pygmy Puff Arnold is purple, but in the movies they made him pink. Wonder why Warner Bros. went out of their way to change it to the more stereotypically ‘girly’ color , not that I think Ginny would necessarily hate the color but it’s annoying that they think we need the color pink to tell us ‘this character is a girl!’

Maybe they simply thought a pink one would sell better in terms of merch?  Anyway, I do hope we get one in the DA set, no matter which colour

If you really want to get specific, Borgin & Burkes isn’t actually on Diagon Alley, but Knockturn Alley, a dingy side street.

That's exactly why a lot of people, including me, would prefer to get it as a standalone set instead of the D2C

Out of interest, I know it’s a long way off, but what do people think the next D2C will be (2022)?  I feel like Hogwarts Express is likely.

I think a huge motorized Hogwarts Express and a D2C Hogsmeade are both possible if the line goes on long enough!

I honestly don't think Harry Potter will get another D2C after DA. I feel like we'll get a ''fill-the-gaps'' year in 2022 and that'll be it, no more D2Cs or sets beyond that untill another reboot comes around. But if the theme does go on for longer I could see Hogsmeade getting a D2C. If Harry Potter does end in the coming years I just hope it'll get replaced by some other awesome rebooted theme like Middle Earth (LotR/Hobbit) or PotC

I think they've got plenty of sets to do. Just to name a few:

PS: Bathroom duel with Troll, rooms (vines, chess, keys) from finale, Fluffy set (I could see it as a separate set), Mirror room (a small set with Harry, Dumbledore and Filch) and lighthouse (with Harry, Hagrid and Dursleys.

CoS: Chamber of Secrets and Polyjuice bathroom.

PoA: Rescuing Sirius (from the cell at the end of the movie), Shrieking Shack, Whomping Willow (with Werewolf Lupin) and small Hogsmeade set (Honeydukes could work well).

GoF: Second Task, Third Task, Durmstrang Ship and Hagrid showing Harry the dragon task (they could include another dragon).

OoTP: Ministry of Magic Duel (honestly they could make 3 sets out of this - prophecy room, mirror room and Dumbledore vs Voldemort), Grimmauld Place and a small set with Testrals (carriage could work well).

HBP: Inferni Cave, bathroom duel and Room of Requirement (this time with Malfoy and Vanishing Cabinet).

These are just 20 sets from top of my head, which would work for at least 3 more waves. I think if they'd like to, this theme could keep working for a couple more years.

You're absolutely right, I should've probably counted the amount of possible sets before saying that  

But we're really getting ahead of ourselves, we haven't even seen all 2020 stuff

Yes, in Europe and partially in Australia. Australia for some reason didn't get the full wave at the same time as Europe (1 June), but part of the wave is now released in Australia. However the US currently only has the students pack. They're getting the full wave in August I believe, if they're lucky maybe in July.

What’s your source on this? I haven’t heard any updates on the US releases.
