The Humble Bricksmith Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 8 Billboards so far... by Humble Bricksmith, on Flickr Over the past year, I've been working on making city billboards, depicting classic LEGO themes. Billboards are a great way to add unique flair and character to any LEGO city or diorama. Without using any printed bricks, it becomes very difficult to create small details without scaling up your creation. I figured that billboards are a good compromise between detail and scale. For anyone interested, check out my Flickr, or support me on LEGO Ideas! Also, you're welcome to download LDD or Studio files of these projects Here. Quote
CSW652 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Nice, but no train one? Edited January 12, 2019 by CSW652 Quote
Bricked1980 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Very good! Is that a sausage piece used to create the top of the brick on the LEGO Ideas logo? Very clever. Quote
peedeejay Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Damn these are cool. Some crazy SNOT‘ing going on. The IDEAS one is ingenious! Quote
deraven Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Really nice. My favorites are the Ideas one (NPU and came out great), and the use of those triangle elements for the sign being painted is awesome! Great use of the rounded corner 1x1 tiles for the fire logo, too. Quote
JopieK Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Very nice job and really great idea. I would say that a building kit that allows to build one or two billboards and adding four options for the adds would do it even better on Ideas. Quote
jimmynick Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 These are very well-designed, and I love the LEGO Universe billboard. It must have been quite tricky to get the logos' geometry right in such a small package. What a good addition to any town or train layout. Quote
Justin Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Nice job on the billboards! They look awesome! Quote
mostlytechnic Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Love these - thank you for sharing the files! I'm going to build several for my train layout once I can get back to working on that. Quote
Cylo Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 My favourite would have to be the lego ideas one. Quote
AntiZombie Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 This are really great looking billboards! Well done :) Quote
Daan0827 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 those bill boards look so real and polished, great job! Quote
notarealperson Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 i might add something similar to my city Quote
Jeff Huntington Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Thanks for posting these! I've always thought that the billboard from Grand Emporium was a clever idea and it's great to see how you've taken that idea and run with it. Quote
jsburkhart Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I'm trying to download to Stud.io files to recreate the Octan logo as a building sign instead of a billboard but the Google Drive link wants a password to access the file. What would the password be? Please and thank you! Quote
Elysiumfountain Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Very well done! I love that you included some terrain with them like the grass and plants. Quote

Please and thank you! @jsburkhart this user hasn't been on since 2019, so they're probably not going to see your message, so your best bet is to try and reverse engineer it yourself from pictures. Also, bumping threads after a year or so without a very good reason is generally a forum no-no.... and this thread is from early 2019. (Just so you know!) Edited July 7 by Murdoch17 Quote

While I generally agree to the latter (and that is our stated forum rule), there is also value in seeing cool old MOCs bumped up again that would otherwise have been lost to time. I'd say that's the case here - these are neat! Quote
