dathil Posted June 16, 2016 This is also my entry in the Faction Action category on Flickr's Summer Joust. I designed this wall quite long ago, but never actually built it ^^ I spent some attention to texturing this time, and I think I succeeded. Next time I will include an angle I think, for that would have improved the wall here I suppose. The ram has a bull's head in this case, ofcourse. Couldn't leave it :D Also the 'cat' (the protecting cover under which rams could approach the walls without the bearers being shot) is in the shape of a bull's head. I do not have many quivers or bricks to connect stuff on minifigs :D) Climbing the wall
Blufiji Posted June 16, 2016 Good texturing on the battlements, and the backside looks stable enough. The arrow slits are nice as well. I am a bit jealous, wish I ahd as many blue falcon figures as you haha.
TitusV Posted June 16, 2016 Looks really great! I live the wall, especially the wooden sections, and the minifig placing is nice as well
soccerkid6 Posted June 16, 2016 Neat wooden ladder for the defenders to climb to reach the battlements The wall looks quite nice, and your battle posing is excellent
BrickCurve Posted June 16, 2016 It looks really good, in fact, the main thing that lets it down here is the photography, it makes it more difficult to see what would otherwise be a really interesting MOC. Going to the effort to use a neutral background will make a whole world of difference, alternatively, photoshopping the background would work.
Isundir Posted June 17, 2016 Great work. especially like the battlements.
Exetrius Posted June 18, 2016 The wall section is nicely covered with tiles and has fine detailing, I especially like the shooting slits. The battle scene is even better, great posing makes it all the more vivid (your crossbow solution is very creative and works well, btw) and the scrapwood siege platform is cool! Pvt13 Posted June 19, 2016 I like the wall and posing, I just think it's a little odd they try to breach a wall and not a gate.
LittleJohn Posted June 20, 2016 Excellent build, dathil! The wall texturing turned out very nicely and I really like how you did the ladder for the defenders to get on top of the wall Very nice collection of classic figs too!
Gunman Posted June 20, 2016 Clean and interesting design there my friend. Your ladder is cute
Gabe Posted June 21, 2016 Nice wall defence Dathil! The wall looks very detailed on both sides, with some nice action posing too. One thing that niggles slightly is how flat the ground is... castle walls were usually built on higher ground, to give a more commanding position. If you had your attackers charging up a slope or hill to reach the wall i think that would look both more realistic and dramatic.
Jacob Nion Posted July 1, 2016 The wall won't be high enough! Yeez, so much action going on. I really love the army storming the wall. Great sense for minifigure posing here.
