I'd say give us both the hairpiece and the hat so that we can swap them if we wish!

But seriously, the way it is now, I prefer the one with the tricorne.

Did you want to add an actual poll for this thread? And do you have exciting plans for the findings?

Hehe, all I expressed was an 'avoid spamming' thought, so in case of making a poll, please include at least the new admiral that also lacks proper rain protection.

I have no clue, however, what the poll options should be, but please more than just two.

I prefer the tricorn version, especially since he has black stubble and brown hair, which doesn't quite work. But I won't vote in this topic while it only has two answers, since my full answer would be 'I prefer tricorn guy but that doesn't mean some of my officers can't have hair as well'.

Now that we're speaking officer modifications, I also think they'd be better with gold eupalettes instead of white.

Tricorne for sure. The hair version is clearly just Lego being lazy and not wanting to give us enough hats for our figures!

Tricorn, however do note the minifigures are named "Bluecoat Sergeants" and they are not officers, however, next to the Governor and Admiral I guess they'd be the closest to an officer so far in lego pirates. I guess you could call them officers if you wanted, though. They're certainly not soldiers. Anyway, Tricorn looks better, however, hair still looks good.

Out of the 2 options, I went with the tricorne officer. That being said, I personally do NOT use tricornes for my Bluecoat officers. I strictly use tricornes for my huge Redcoat armies officers only.

For my bluecoat officers its gold epaulettes and bicornes(admiral hats) or the POTC brown or gray ponytails.

The one with hair looks a bit like Louie made his comeback...

Hey, what about bicornes? pirate_laugh2.gif

Anyway, rain protection is a must have.

Would had prefered both in the set. But tricorne ofcourse, especially when there is no black hat to get in this line.

Funny that you mentioned this, as my methodology is similar, although with the Redcoats and Bluecoats swapped. But it only has to do with the old version of Blue- and Redcoats, the ones from late 1980s and early 1990s. Since their uniforms are virtually identical (save for the colours of course), I consider them one faction, the difference being that the soldiers in red serve on land, and the guys in blue serve on ships. That is why you will never see an old-type Redcoat on a ship displayed by me. :pir-classic: Therefore the Redcoat soldiers wear shakos, while it is the Bluecoats who wear tricornes, plus the high-ranking officers of both divisions wear bicornes. An example of this, but only with the Bluecoats present, can be seen in my HMS Eternity.

The 2009 Redcoats are a completely different faction (nation, whatever) altogether, and the 2015 Bluecoats are yet another completely different faction which has nothing to do with any of the previous groups. :pir-classic:

I have no idea how historically accurate such division is, but I ilke it that way and have been doing so for years now. :classic:

In my opinion ; The army with officers who wears Tricornes or hats looks more disciplined
