kinggregus Posted January 4, 2014 Hi Everyone, I have taken advantage of the long and cold days to build one of my very first MOCs. The recent Lone Ranger theme inspired me to work on a western layout. As I have limited space to build, this MOC is a modular build and can be split into two sections. I have to admit that I wanted to work the cliff on the upper level a bit more, but I know that I will have close to no time to build in the coming months. I wanted also to include as many features as possible in a limited space. I hope this was not too much. Here is an overview of the build (the train is the original train from LR): All Main by Kinggregus, on Flickr Another view from a different angle: All Main2 by Kinggregus, on Flickr A close up of the fort. The name is inspired from the cartoon "The Blue Coats": Fort1 by Kinggregus, on Flickr The fort under a different angle. You can see the cave that Indians can use to go to the "Main Level": Fort2 by Kinggregus, on Flickr Here is a closeup on the cave. It includes a stair for Indians to go to the upper level. Cave1 by Kinggregus, on Flickr The Indian Camp can be better seen from this picture: Indian Camp1 by Kinggregus, on Flickr The mine can be separated from the main build. Mine1 by Kinggregus, on Flickr I thought it was fun to have a the possibility to turn the light on. I used the lightbricks to make it possible: Mine2b by Kinggregus, on Flickr And here is a final overview of the MOC: Conclusion by Kinggregus, on Flickr I would be pleased to hear about your comments. I will probably be building another section in a couple months. Therefore any criticisms would be welcome. Thanks a lot!
Deathleech Posted January 4, 2014 Wow! This MOC looks amazing! I love all the detail you crammed into such a small space. I will say it does look a little cluttered though. The train tracks are mere feet away from the fort entrance and the indians are all directly below the fort. The mines and the indian camp also come right out to water. This is understandable since you said you had limited space. Overall a wonderful MOC that is oozing detail!
odidoma Posted January 4, 2014 Like it! It's a nice theme and I love the waterfall, great build!
Palathadric Posted January 5, 2014 I like it. You came up with some interesting ideas for the cave. That's a fun waterfall too. I like the ripples at the bottom.
Only Sinner Posted January 5, 2014 This is really good. I like the teired nature of this MOC, and all the scerery is clearly visible from most perspectives. This is a nice full sized scene for such a small space.
Mutant Orc Posted January 5, 2014 Wow, cool! I've wanted to do something like this for a while! I'm definitely keeping this in my 'inspiration' box.
Hey Joe Posted January 6, 2014 Hey, I really like that a lot. It doesn't look cluttered to me. It's great to see those sets combined into an excellent MOC. Joe
pcvando Posted January 6, 2014 I really like the Mine, and the Bridge. How did you make the X pattern on the bridge? It looks very cool and useful. Great job!
kinggregus Posted January 7, 2014 I really like the Mine, and the Bridge. How did you make the X pattern on the bridge? It looks very cool and useful. Great job! Thanks for your comment. I have used the following piece which is actually found in the original Lone Ranger Mine: http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=6002837. When doing the bridge, I was inspired by such design: Train Sample by Kinggregus, on Flickr
