Update - September 2022 According to Promobricks, LotR is returning in 2023 in the form of two BrickHeadz sets: 40630: Frodo and Gollum 40631: Gandalf the Gray and the Balrog And _possibly_ a large D2C set, but that was not 100% confirmed. ________________________________ Hello everyone! I know the topic already has been discuss a while ago but it was before amazon annonced that they are working on a Lord of the rings tv series. Do you guys think that with the new tv series , Lego would bring back LoTR / Hobbits sets ? ( I am huge fan! ) and a lot of things haven't been done yet ( gondor soldiers, sauron , for quick examples ). I send a mail to lego and they repplied saying that the idea was interresting but not anny plans for the moment and that with enough demand why not consider the idea. ( i don't know if they are serious or if it is juste a smart markething respons to keep me dreaming haha ). What do you guys think about it ? Is it possible that the LoTR would make a come back?? After having finished the work on the Balrog Book Nook (MOC-223824) I thought of "utilizing" this style for another MOC - and what would suit better than the "Destruction of the Ring" ? I wanted to stay movie accurate with this, but that is easier said than done. There is never a shot where you see the whole Crack of Doom without any smoke. At least there are some good shots of the bridge and the architecture directly above the bridge. But a lot of the other things are quite difficult to see. Nevertheless I am really satisfied with the final result of this MOC. Just like the Balrog this should also get illuminated - the socket has room for some effects board and is built using transparent plates and tiles. So get some slow "pulse effects" and let that lava glow ;-) As I aimed for the scene when Frodo was hanging from the cliff and Sam tried to reach him, the proper quote on the 2x6 tile probably would be: "Don't you let go... Don't let go..." The MOC is available on rebrickable. -
Hello folks and look what I found yesterday in my local toy store... The Box contains of 9 plastic bags. Interesting that Lego shifted back from paper for this one. Same as from the Fell Beast from 2024 After finishing Bags 1 & 2 After bag 6 Gandalf is the same mini figure as from Bag End set. Bag 7-9 is for the Balrog. It has interessting building techniques for the wing folding mechanism. The head is fully printed - no stickers. The wings are connected with the back of the structure so the Balrog stays in place when you close the Book Nook. Overall a very nice set which was fun to build and will display nicely between my other LotR sets. If you have questions feel free to ask them. -
Here is our LEGO Lord of the Rings MORDOR MOC!! I originally started building this MANY MANY years ago, with Orthanc in the center. But of course, Barad-Dur makes it SO MUCH BETTER!!

I didn't really mind the lack of detail on the Fell Beast head, but it did inspire me to have a go at modding it. I reworked the head almost entirely, and while I was at it added reigns, modded the saddle and put the wings on ball joints. It has pretty much the same range of articulation as the original, although I had to sacrifice the tongue. I think I'm going to leave it like this, what do you reckon? Suggestions welcome! Here is a look at our MASSIVE LEGO Lord of the Rings Middle-Earth Display!! We have been collecting LOTR since the themes original run, and have amassed a nice collection. We include the FOLLOWING locations in our Middle-Earth: Mordor, Shire, Rivendell, Weathertop, Lake-Town, Helm's Deep, Erebor and Isengard. For our Middle-Earth, we didn't worry about film or book accuracy. Instead we focused on utilizing our "given" space most efficiently. I hope you enjoy!!

Just playing around with a few ideas for a Treebeard moc. Thinking if I can get him done I might put it on Lego Ideas as a "UCS" version. He's not really based on the movies, more my interpretation of him from the books. Except for his moustache, he's surprisingly sturdy, clips and bars hold everything in place pretty well. At the moment I'm not sure about his eyes - they're pearl gold but I think they need to be brighter... or maybe I've overdone his eyebrows. Here's a slightly earlier version... Part of me prefers them slightly simpler. Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Pippin is trying to explain that they're lost but Merry's not listening - he's just found a biscuit in his pocket! Just playing around with a few ideas ahead of a much bigger moc I'm planning. This is one is a test of a waterfall/stream technique I wanted to try. I got hold of about 30 this part and figured it might make a decent flowing water effect. But in the end it was a lot more difficult than I anticipated because there's not much back/forward rotation in the clips. I ended up with quite a few 'illegal' connections, although I think they could be designed out with a bit of planning. I quite like the end result - I think I got some of the flowing movement I was after, although I next time I'm going to try adding some tan/dark tan under the water pieces to simulate the stream bed. Hopefully it will help emphasise the effect more. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics - comments/suggestions welcome! Edit: Thanks for the frontpage!

The build is not depicting any particular scene from the books, but just trying to capture a mixture of Peter Jacksons darker style, mixed with the classic 1978 cartoon. Hi, I've been slowly expanding my LotR minifig collection over the past few years, some with new custom prints and weapons and some with official Lego parts. Hopefully this is a better place to post this than the MCN board, and it can be a LotR version of the Star Wars and Harry Potter minifigure updates threads, where any LotR fans still around and interested in this sort of thing can post their finds/collections. To start off, here is my Theoden from the Battle of Helm's Deep with a custom sword. I'll be going to my parents for the first time in ages over the weekend where most of my figures are kept, I can upload some more after that hopefully

This is a remake of a very old MOC of mine, and one of my favorite scenes from the Appendices of LOTR. The original MOC was absolutely horrendous so I will not link it here. If you care to dig through my MOCPages folders, feel free to suffer! Thorin tells Gandalf of his plans to reclaim the Lonely Mountain (Erebor) and Gandalf offers to find the 14th member of the company. This is based on my own interpretation of the scene in the book, as well as a painting by Ted Nasmith, rather than the scene from the movie. I tried out some new techniques and styles here and I tried to put in as much detail as I could. Overall I'm rather happy with the results. I appreciate all comments and constructive criticisms!

The Lord of the Rings theme is one of the ones that really got my interests back up to a strong boil when it comes to LEGO collecting, but unfortunately for me, while the sets were still on the shelves I was much more focused on other pursuits (music collecting mostly). Well, I was finally able to just recently complete my Lord of the Rings collection and now have all the sets and minifigures! I got them all set up to snap a few pics last week. Pretty darn happy with them. (I do also have some of the Hobbit sets, especially 79003 which I have multiple copies of, as well as the whole of Thorin's company, but this is just Lord of the Rings sets.)

Golden, too, are the posts of its doors.» I am proud to present the 9th installment in the Third Age: Journey Through Middle-Earth collab, The Golden Hall of Meduseld, located in Edoras, the capital of Rohan. This is my favourite location in Middle-Earth and to build it was an amazing experience. I started the planning back in May, and I've been continously building ever since then, and finished it just a few days before releasing it September 8th. The model is 140 cm long, 85 cm wide and 45 cm tall. I am super proud of this, and it turned out just about how I imagined it. In this MOC of the departure from Rivendell described in The Fellowship of the Ring (Book), I tried to capture the grey feel of the scene. I also wanted to experiment with making a tree from various connections. I'm pretty happy about how it came out and I discovered a new technique* * Somebody may have done this before, but if so, I discovered it independently so it's a new technique to me: The ratcheted hinge piece and the clip fit together naturally and they form a smooth hinge (really nice for me as I do not have the old hinges).

Bree and the Buckleberry Ferry The Buckleberry Ferry is a raft-ferry at the main crossing point of the river Brandywine from The Shire to Buckland in Bree-land. Some miles east lies of the Village of Bree, the chief-village of Bree-land. This is the only area in Middle-earth where men, dwarves, and hobbits dwell side by side. Bree and the Buckleberry Ferry is a collaboration with myself and Northern LEGO. We built this for the Norwegian convention På Kloss Hold 2018 that was held in April, where it won a cool award. We used Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring as reference when building most of this, especially the raft-ferry and the Prancing Pony Inn. We're very proud of the outcome and the collab was a huge success for us. "Peregrin Took, my lad, there is a task now to be done. Another opportunity for one of the Shire-folk to prove their great worth. You must not fail me." Alright, so this will probably be the last time I post any of my old MOCs here, but since I still consider this to be my best ever, I want to show it here. Since it's not only one of the best scenes in Return of the King, but also in the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy, I really wanted to build it, the Lighting of the Beacons. The project started during the summer of 2017 and finished in October. The rockwork is simple straight up and down with SNOT, and that's something I would have liked to changed now, but back then it was only the 2nd time I had done SNOT rockwork. I built this for Brickset's 60 Years of the LEGO Brick competition. It is a miniature version of my favorite LEGO set, the 10237 Tower of Orthanc. Replicating it on a small scale was really hard, since the original set was so many small details. I included Treebeard as well.

For the last month I have been designing skylines for the three "The Lord of the Rings" movies/books! "The Fellowship of the Ring" features the Shire, Bree, Weathertop, Ford of Bruinen, Rivendell, Moria (behind Rivendell), the Doors of Durin, and the Gates of Argonath. Moria is hidden behind Rivendell :) "The Two Towers" features Edoras (with the Golden Hall), Fangorn Forest (with micro Ents), Isengard (with Orthanc), the Dead Marshes, and Helm's Deep. Helm's Deep has a play feature built it that allows you to launch part of the fortified wall into the air to reenact the explosion. Here is a view looking down over the Dead Marshes: "The Return of the King" features Minas Tirith, The Black Gate, Barad-dur, the Tower of Cirith Ungol (with hidden Shelob on the back), and Mount Doom. Mount Doom's tiny play feature allows you to drop the ring into the top and it will come out the backside. And here is a view of all three of them lined up together. Siege of Tharbad after nearly 4 years since I start to thinking about this project and 2 years of building , I am finaly in the end. This creation is a part of castle commpetition on www.kostky.org (local czech and slovak LEGO fan forum) So, let me introduce my largest MOC - city of Tharbad. Fans of LOTR know this city probably... and because I am a big fan of LOTR and also of Castle, I decided to make my own small fiction to LOTR world and put this fiction in timeline between events from Hobbit and war of the ring. Tharbad was founded by Numenor colonists in 2nd age. After fall of Numenor it becomes part of Northen kingdom of men - Arnor. When Arnor broke in 861 TA , tharbad belongs to Cardolan. In 1409 TA, Witchking of angmar destroy Cardolan, but Tharbad survive. In tolkiens books, tharbad was destroyd by Great flood in 2912 TA. In my fiction Tharbad after fall of kingdom of arnor in 1974 TA still exists as independent city state and great flood in 2912 TA destroy only eastern part of the city. I decide to take my fiction to year 3008 TA when armies of Sauron from Mount Gundabad start siege of city of Tharbad as a last kingdom of men from numenor on the West of misty mountains. To help for besieged city of tharbad come elves from lindon, gondor and also rohan (all armies i have in my collection). This is my LEGO Ideas Rivendell project. You can support it here! You're support can help make this a real LEGO set! :D Description Rivendell, a collection of beautifully designed buildings, built by Lord Elrond in the 2nd Age of Middle earth. Nestled, almost hidden, among the trees of a deep gorge to the west of the Misty Mountains, Rivendell is the home of the Elves. Rivendell is one of the very key and more well know locations in Middle Earth, having many places named after it in real life. It plays a key role in both the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, as a safe haven and place of comfort to the characters in both stories. Build This highly detailed, architecture style model is built in roughly trophy figure scale (the same scale as the micro Hogwarts Castle set). I have tried to capture the architecural style and granduer of Rivendell as well as possible in such small scale and with LEGO bricks. I based my design on Weta Worksop's model of Rivendell, which you can view here. Although there is no particular right or wrong for how Rivendell looks, Weta Workshop was the company that designed all the props for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, so I thought that their model would be a good place to start. Pieces This microscale model is actually quite a large set, containing 2578 pieces exactly. This number will obviously change a bit as I make changes to the model based on suggestions made by the community, but I will update it when I can!
