  1. Spencer's diary, Junali 3815 After an easy ride on Xerillian last week, I've been called back to Dr. Blomkampf's engineering facility on board the OCS 'Your paycheck could depend on this'. I wonder what I'm letting myself in for this time... "Ah! Spencer! I'm glad it's you. I've just been putting the finishing touches to my newest design." "No pointy sticks this time?" "No, but I think you'll like it anyway..." "Wow, she's a beaut Doc. What do you call her?" "The Octan Octonaut! The most advanced Awesomnium prospecting vehicle ever designed, if I do say so myself. And with the 8-legged ambulatory system, she's stable on any terrain. Just try not to leave her in the bottom of a sinkhole this time, eh?" For once, the Doc was as good as his word. The Octonaut handles the rocky plains of Kaalin with ease. It may be a little cramped inside, but the armour's thick enough to withstand a meteorite strike. Drill deployed!
  2. Open channel message #006 to Octan Corporation.. Location: E02 Tags: Science, Exploration,Mech,Engineering Terrian: Nice Sandy Beaches. I have heard about this planet from the chatter on the Axis and wanted to check it out for myself, well my wife and myself. Dr. Long had granted us access to the plant for some reasearch on the crystals forming along the water's edge and report back. “Mr. Smith report.” “Mrs Smith here, Dr. Long. My Husband has taken a shift with our new sentinel and I am running over the diagnosis of these crystals, they seem to be coming from the sand but are attached to these flowers...I am getting a few samples…” “where is Mr. Smith now?” “um...taking a break..I am mot sure really but I am not amused let me tell you, He seems to think this place is a resort or something… E02_1 by Meyerj, on Flickr He thinks he want to retire here.. 3. Get set for the ultimate Mech Battle as Zane’s Titan Mech takes on Blade Master Bansha’s Ghost mech – Mech-enstein! Place Zane in the cockpit and adjust the arms and legs and rotating torso for awesome battle poses. Fire the stud shooters and dodge the massive swords of the 4-armed Mech-enstein. Then take the action to the air with the rocket-booster backpack! Give Zane support with Jay and Nya, firing the spring-loaded hook shooter to try and topple the Ghost mech. Use all the cool Ninja weapons to stop Scythe Master Ghoultar getting into the Samurai X Cave and stealing the Aeroblade! Includes 5 minifigures with assorted weapon and accessory elements: Zane, Jay, Nya, Scythe Master Ghoultar and Blade Master Bansha. When I first heard of this set, I was very interested. When I first saw the set, I knew I'd be buying it. And so here we go, one brand new Ninjago review. Did it turn out to be everything I hoped for? Read on to find out! Set Name : Titan Mech Battle Set Number : 70737 Piece count : 754 Price : £39.99 Figures : 5 Front of Box. It does seem like a large box for a £40 set, but I guess it needs the width to show off the artwork. Back of Box. We get a couple of panels showing another battle image, a few images of the characters included, plus notifying you of which Aeroblade you get, and that there are others to collect. Top of Box. We see the five characters that we get in the set, plus one of the little Screemers, and the 1:1 scale image using Zane to convey the size. What you get inside. Two instruction books, two sticker sheets (one for each mech) and six bags. Bag one builds the little rock outcrop and missile shooting platform. Bags two and three make up Zane's Titan Mech (which also appears to be named Zane 2.0) and bags four, five and six make up Mech-enstein (yes thats the official name) (As a change from what I've done with previous reviews, I'm going to post the parts selections for each bag and their subsequent leftovers, and leave the reveal pictures for after) Parts selection from bag one. Leftover pieces from bag one. Parts selection from bag two. Leftover pieces from bag two. Parts selection from bag three. Leftover pieces from bag three. (Little worried about the 1x1 brick in white but after double-checking the instructions it's definitely not missing from the build) Parts selection from bag four. Leftover pieces from bag four. Parts selection from bag five. Leftover pieces from bag five. Parts selection from bag six. No leftover pieces from this bag, which was a nice surprise. So with the build complete, and the weather being very agreeable, I haphazardly carried it all outside for some better photo options. First up is this little rocky build which holds the Aeroblade. Lego label this as part of the Samurai X cave. Nothing major to note here, it does it's job for the story element of the set. Second is the little turret with the spring loaded missile. A little bit of back up for Zane, most likely included due to the slightly less imposing look of the Titan Mech to Mech-enstein. Samurai X. No major changes to her outfit that I can see, and comes with double face as standard. Jay. Once again we have a new outfit for the second half. He comes with a single sided face. Zane. Everyone's favourite nindroid is backing sporting the same new style costume as his fellow ninja Jay. He retains his double-sided face from the first half year sets. Skreemer. This little ghoul appears in multiple sets, and seems to be the grunt of the ghoulish baddies. These can be attached to a figure's head, I'm guessing to represent them being possessed. Scythe Master Ghoultar. (A pain in the behind to balance on his ghostly lower half) The obvious opposition for Jay and Nya to fend off. Blade Master Bansha. The driver of the Mech-enstein. The Titan Mech. I'm happy to say that it's every bit as good as I hoped it would be. The thing I like the most about this is the fact that it still looks darn awesome without a pilot. A couple of plates to fill the gap and you're good to go. The other thing that also attracted me to it is, weirdly, the legs. I can never MOC the legs of a mech to the pontiff me liking it, and yet theres such a simple build to them yet they look so good! I've been disheartened recently with the lack of any knees on the mech's that Lego have released recently, but with this it doesn't affect it at all, the model is still very posable. The blades on the arms of the mech are a nice touch, and the fact the designer placed them facing in opposite directions is a nice change, and stops the model looking too symmetrical. Mech-enstein. One of the largest vehicles in the ghoul arsenal, it's definitely an imposing beast. Think how General Greivous would look if he were in the world of Ninjago and was a dribble mech, and this is what you'd get. Four arms with massive sword blades, fierce claws, lots of ghoulish green and a creepy spider for good measure. Alas, there is one problem... There is hardly any movement in the ankles. The brown slope and spoiler piece limit the possibility to almost nothing. It suffers in the same kind of ways that Emmet's Constructo Mech did. Removing the spoiler helps with lending forward, but the brown slope piece is integral, and would need replacing with a 2x2 rather than the 2x3 used. Other than that, this set is perfect. Zane only appears in his normal ninja outfit in this set, but all the other figures show up in other sets with no change to their printings. I think one of the other major drawing points of this set is its PPP (price per piece). If my calculations are correct, then this set comes in at a pretty amazing £0.05 per piece. I know that it's not a licensed theme etc, but its still very good value considering the large amount of white and new coloured pieces included. I would go as far to say that this set is the highlight of not just the second half year sets, but for all of 2015 Ninjago. I hope you all enjoyed reading my review, and you're welcome to add any extras to the review if you wish. Some extra pictures can be found on my flickr at : https://flic.kr/s/aHskeEgJ6L
  4. Is it possible to make a heavy gear mech that can fit a minifig and also is in scale with the minifig? in other words just like it would be 15 feet in real life compared to a human could the lego version be like only 2 or maybe 3 minifig tall? The closest I ever got was this:
  5. [K - B05] The Investigation Continues... Okay, so, somewhere in the creation process, I lost around 3 hours of work, so the scene ended up quite differently from my original idea. However, I'm very satisfied with the result (I've been wanting to build this particular mech (which is also my first), for quite some time now). The build is around 6500 pieces, of which the mech is around 800. I had some trouble uploading the pictures, but the build was still posted before the 10:00 GMT deadline. --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log Begin. Date: 0607(38)15. 6. So I wanted to build a mech suit that was less than 3 minifigures tall and... Suprisingly I succeeded Now I have to admit that has an uncanny resemblance to the amp-suits of Avatar, anyway take a look and let me know what you think

  9. L'Supervivere Over the course of several years during the great industrial age, this mechanical suit was created by the lesser-known Professor Stewart Phoenix out of disused parts scavenged from various scrapheaps and abandoned factories around the outskirts of Victorian London, hence L'Supervivere's rather cobbled together and unusually complex appearance. The original and sole purpose of L'Supervivere was to be used by Professor Stewart Phoenix to protect his family and his estate, Phoenix Manor, from destruction, but over the years this technical monstrosity was also used for several other suitably vital causes, such as fixing leaks in the Manor's roof and rescuing cats from trees. The most notable alternative use of L'Supervivere was during a lengthy voyage abroad, in which it was used to navigate the treacherous rainforests of the Amazon and defend a party of explorers (including Professor Stewart Phoenix himself) against any threats they may have encountered. At the end of Professor Stewart Phoenix's long and fruitful life, he proclaimed in his last will and testament that L'Supervivere would be passed down to his eldest and only son, Dr Joseph Phoenix, on the sole condition that it mustn't be used for any type of criminal activity and that at the end of his life, he should also pass on L'Supervivere to his eldest son, and that this son should pass it on to HIS eldest son, and so on until what is only described within Professor Stewart Phoenix's will as "The end of all days", but so far no-one has been able to fully understand the meaning behind this choice of words. Mysteriously, after being passed down through several generations L'Supervivere and the Phoenix bloodline completely disappeared from public view in the early 1920s. It is still rumored that L'Supervivere still exists in its original form to this day, but the location of the suit itself and it's rightful owner is currently not known... More images on my Flickr. Enjoy!
  10. Whipped this lil' beauty together within the space of a couple of hours to test my leg-building skills, and I'm pretty pleased with the result. More images on my Flickr. Enjoy!
  11. [Render] XV104 Riptide by The Mugbearer, on Flickr The XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is one of the latest Tau Earth Caste innovations, designed to combat the most dangerous enemies of the Tau Empire. Powered by an experimental Dark Matter Nova Reactor and equipped with an arsenal of highly advanced weapon systems, the XV104 Riptide is the pinnacle of Tau Battlesuit technology. Standing twice the height of an XV8 Crisis Battlesuit, the XV104 is the epitome of Tau ingenuity and technology. Its long, back-jointed legs hold up a heavily armoured torso that houses the Riptide’s Dark Matter Nova Reactor -- an experimental power generator that can be activated should the Shas’vre pilot require extra power to sustain his heavy rate of fire. The XV104 carries a sleek Riptide Shield Generator on one arm and a Heavy Burst Cannon, which can be exchanged for an Ion Accelerator, on the other. To provide manoeuvrability, the XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is also equipped with a large Jetpack that juts out from its shoulder blades. Source

  16. So I decided to try make a mech for a contest and here is the result, not very sturdy though The pictures aren't giving the right mood/ giving a good image of how it looks. (I really need to get a better enviroment/ lightboxes to make pictures) Pictures don't really give a good sense of the scale sadly And for the fan of lore, I made the time do create some: Lore: HSM-1.50 (Heavy Support Mech) *General Information* Produced by the New Federation it has been designed by Future Tech who's mission it were to create a versetaile but heavy duty mech. It's been a savior of many soldiers. *Intended Role on the Battlefield* Being a support mech it is not capable of fighting on it's own, they are supposed to defend allied infantry from enemy heavy armor and big swarms of infantry. If they however are somehow catched alone they will not survive long because of their big weakspots on the back and sides where it can counter any incoming attacks. Luckely most are capable of sticking with their own platoon of infantry who covers it from being surrounded. *Weapon Systems* The left arm is outfitted with a big 1.50 Cal. firing gatling gun, firing up to 2000 rounds per minute. This makes it a great solution for problems that tend to get too close. It can shred both Infantry and armored targets, it´s effectiveness is lowered by it not being able to move appartly from the mech itself. For ranged targets there is a specially designed railgun mounted on the right arm, shooting bullets the size of a book it devestates anything it hits. with an effective range of over 10 miles it is a serious threat to anything this mech get's in it's sights. Though normally these type of guns would have ranges far greater then 10 miles, this one had to be specially designed with low recoil because it otherwise would have damaged the whole mech itself. And last but not least there are 6 top mounted anti-airrockets to deter any small aircrafts, though they do not pose any serious threat to anything bigger then a bomber. However strike aircraft and interceptors are easily taken out by these small rockets because they have a speed of over 800 meters a second.
  17. So after some usefull advice from Dr Cogg i managed to make a little mecha for the clay bots , still i think i could improve the legs or arms with the pices that come in the "Clay rumble blade" set if you have any advice it would be really appreciated (I used the blue sword that comes with the Fortrex but the sword that comes with the set can do just as fine) The pictures are kinda big so instead ill link the imgur album http://imgur.com/a/zlgPJ
  18. Location: F10 Arium Major Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Mission Log: Entry 17 ~ My father filled me in on the mission as we boarded the shuttle. Exactly a week ago, a certain Kawashita Space Marine had reported into the medical centre on Orinshi with a strange malady. He said that he had been shot with an alien weapon during a spying mission on Arium Major, but he didn't know who had shot him. The medical staff had seen nothing like it, so they sent him to Avindrian Laboratories for examining. The scientists managed to extract some sort of bullet from the soldier's skin, but noted a strange redness emanating from the area around the wound when they removed it. Within days every patch of skin on his body had turned a deep red, and his eyes turned yellow. Upon removing his shirt, scientists found that one of his arms had developed a thick crust of red skin and his hand was hardening into a claw. The next day, he was gone. The body of a lab assistant was found in his room, clearly murdered. He'd used the assistant's security card to gain access to a shuttle; operatives tracked it to Arium Major. Paradoxically, this was where the soldier had sustained the injury. I was sent along with two special forces commandos, Agents Sharpe and Kytes, to track down the mutant soldier and bring him (or it) back to Kawashita space for interrogation and analysis. I was also tasked with investigating the origin of the bullet. In case the planet's ruling Octan council sent operatives to stop us, or we ran into hostile aliens, our party was assigned a Kawashita Search-and-Destroy mecha, equipped with the latest weapons technology and piloted by none other than Ekira Mitoshi himself. We were ready at last, and prepared for whatever fate might befall us on Arium Major. Sans figs and mech: The cast: Agent Sharpe, Dragonfire, Agent Kytes The mech: C&C welcome!
  19. ... IN THE GREEN CORNER! While 'some' corporations feel that top-heavy, spindly-legged mechs somehow gives then an unfair advantage ; ), others believe that those legs are going to get kicked out from under them when they face the brute-force, mecha-muscle approach of new M.A.N.T.I.S. entry... 23. Greetings Fellow Sci-Fi Fans, I present to you my version of the Bushwacker Battlemech from the PC game Mechwarrior 4. It is fully posable. It has great balance, and its strong. It took 2 months to design, perfect and build. I was up every night until 4 AM. It is captured in a running and gunning pose. I will try to make better pictures in the future. Feedback is welcome. Features of the BSW-S2 variant: The S2 is a variant of the Bushwacker that makes the 'Mech more effective at short to medium ranges. The 'Mech carries an ER Large Laser to allow the 'Mech to engage an enemy at long ranges as it closes. The 'Mech carries an LB-X Autocannon/10 or a Rotary 5 unit with 6 barrels, which can fire both standard and cluster ammunition for long to medium range engagement capabilities. For close combat, the 'Mech has two SRM-4 short range missile launchers, making it a powerful unit at any range. For added defense, the S2 carries an Anti-Missile System.
