  1. Anybody else done this? AC
  2. A dozen Mirkwood elves and what I did to them! AC
  3. Not quite, but it's a start of possibly another modular series. AC
  4. They're here! AC
  5. Sorry it took longer than anticipated. Updated with new pic. AC
  6. Make sure that you work on something that you really like and then steal/borrow the design elements that you've seen in the MOCs that got you excited! Always good to work on different themes/genres as it can get boring doing the same sometimes. Someday I'll build a Mecha that I can be proud to show off! It was partly based on an actual TIE design but made a hybrid to conform to the Vic Viper standards. Yeah, like that's gonna happen anytime soon! Be sure to view the other entries! AC
  7. Here's mine! AC
  8. The center fin is a required feature of the design for a Vic Viper. I'd probably revisit this later on to do the proper TIE Viper design. AC
  9. It's a TIE Vviper! Definitely the wing design was what I concentrated on getting the right look. There was a different design that I tried with some of the bigger plastic wheel hubs but found the overall look of the back somewhat funky. So in the end I just stuck with the original engines. This is one that I based the wing design on. I've actually tried the top fin as a single stud width but found it too thin. I guess it all boils down to personal preferences. AC
  10. Thanks all for your comments, but enough chit-chat and just enjoy the completed MOC! AC PS. Happy Thanksgiving!
  11. Well, hello there! I don't know where you're coming from to actually respond how you did and I don't think it warranted too harsh of a response either. Ever thought of positive reinforcement for anybody trying to show their work? If the post is still too complicated for you to understand, it's still a work in progress. Get it? You know it's coming and will be done in time for turkey day! Yup and I actually mentioned about it in my previous entry. AC
  12. On its own merits, the UCS TIE Vviper is an excellent fighter that should not be overlooked. The TIE Vviper incorporates shields, boosted laser cannons, improved armor, and a hyperdrive. A powerful generator provides power to all of these systems with enough leftover to bring the Vviper's speed above that of a TIE/ln. Modified as a hybrid fighter for the Novvember Vic Viper builds! Posted November 17, 2012 Still working on it... AC
  13. Thanks again for the comments and planning to expand on this scene in the near future. AC
  14. Done sorting and did this quick setup to show the tiling design of the landing platform. AC
  15. I suspect that the interior frames may have been loosened when I moved it, then gravity took over... AC
  16. This one doesn't have the index tag. AC
  17. It was going to be deconstructed later for the CB project that I had in mind. But that's for another thread... AC
  18. Only thing I regret was not being able to shoot another scene with the firefight between the clones and the droids. There's always a trade-off between scale and details. In the case of the crab droid, I went for details rather than scale and besides it's only modded from an old MOC. AC
  19. I've managed to move it last night but then woke up to this! Back to sorting as there are still parts all over the floor as I don't plan on rebuilding it. AC
  20. I started building this with the basic slopes that came with the set and then replaced them at the end with the printed ones. The design was roughly based on the jedi starfighters but with extended side wings. Slight mods to the twin engines to lengthen them for the Viper look! AC PS. Might give it a go on an Imperial design next time.
  21. I thought about the chrome at first but that would mean dismantling the UCS version so I ditched that idea. Second pic added to show the ship disengaged from the twin hyperdrive engines. AC
  22. Was deconstructing the 7660 Naboo N1 Starfighter, when I came across the Novvember Vic Viper that gave me the idea to build this! AC
  23. Almost exhausted my supply of tan/dark tan as this MOC and two others have eaten all of it. However, this may not last long and will probably be deconstructed before my next big build. Would've expanded it but due to time constraints of the CB, this is all I've managed to finish. Details no matter how small still count and that's why the links show you more. AC
  24. More detailed pics can be seen from the site. Yeah, I get that a lot! It really starts with good reference pics when creating scenes like this. Besides the whole structure, it's the little details that make the scene come to life so I make sure that they're consistent to the theme. I've generally stuck with pure Lego elements as much as I can. If you look at the landing platform pic, there are a couple of supports in the middle that keep the whole structure up. I've tried in the initial design to have a couple more supports on the sides so that I can get rid of the two supports in the middle. But that had to be scrapped as the the weight of the skeletal frame was too much to bear. Those HP heads were just perfect for them! You'll have to add fragile for the whole structure as I couldn't add more details/support since some parts broke down during the build process. Just happy to have had no breakdowns during the picture taking as that would've been a mess! AC PS. Thanks for the FP Erdbeeries!
