Fierce beast-riding warriors, the Talz are very territorial and only want to be left alone. Though the Jedi manage to negotiate peace with the Talz chieftain, Thi-Sen, when greedy Chairman Cho breaks it by insisting the planet and the Talz are under his power. The resulting conflict escalates into war between the senator led clones and the Talz, with the Jedi in the middle. Here's a teaser of the episode's finale as I've just finished the landscape, minifig placement and took some test shots. Should be done by this weekend with the final photoshoot. The magnificent seven riders of the Talz! AC PS. A tribute to Walking Dead going B&W

Ever watch Clone Wars season I Episode 15: Trespass? AC
-
Yes and I thought the regular set was too big. Tried different ways for a smoother look instead of the jagged edges. Don't own one so I built my version of it and the Talz are from the magnet sets. The loose tiles were a last minute add-ons as the scene looked too clean. AC PS. Just added another pic swapping the minifigs.

Who's watching who now? Turnabout is fair game! The native Talz inhabitants of Orto Plutonia keep a close watch on clone snowtroopers on a recon mission. AC

Very stable as there are supports underneath that go around for each step. You can barely make out the edge of the tallest support just in the middle of the pic. It can fully stand on its own. AC

Thanks and I've added another design for a winding stairway. AC
-
Nothing serious as this is really just a table scrap build trying out the curved slopes used in the previous MOC as a winding stairway. AC
-
Added winding stairway. I honestly don't know if anybody has done these before but they're similar designs used for my latest SW MOC. Looks like they can be used also for castle, what do you think of them? AC

Future of SW Contest: Yoda's Legacy (expanded 01/28/13)

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Hagrid Jedi statues have been done before in an old MOC. I hope my luck holds up with the update. AC PS. Temple entrance expansion done. I'm really done this time! -

Every build is different and the various pieces/details/minifigs must work together to convey the overall design/concept. There's a risk of overdoing and in keeping with the theme it's sometimes necessary to tone it down a bit. At least you've been able to see through the overall concept/design and the backstory should help out a bit to fill the details if needed. AC -

??? There's a wall there because the entry to the temple is on the other side and those are force spears! Correction, bigger collection doesn't mean squat if you don't know how to build quality MOCs. Oh, ok what you said didn't translate that well the first time. But kidding around about the prizes is not funny anymore. Let's keep on topic about the creation going forward. Thanks, AC -
Future of SW Contest: Yoda's Legacy (expanded 01/28/13)

You should know by now that I don't reveal everything in the WIP pics! There's a lot of details besides those you mentioned and the grand staircase was designed based on some pics of SW architecture. As for the yellow minifigs, I'm a retro kind of guy and you'd easily notice that with my other MOCs. I've actually used that Jedi in the old Jedi Temple MOC. Good luck to you as well. Obi Wan was not included in the hall as he did not die from the Jedi purge (Order 66). But if this was expanded, there would be an appropriate place for him and Anakin as well. You shouldn't be waiting on what others do or do not. Be creative and do what you feel is best that you can do. Not based from somebody else's work. I was designing a brick-built Yoda but wasn't fully satisfied with the outcome. It just so happens that when I got the CMF Series 9 minifgs, the flashlight keychains were all on sale! I did buy the Vader and stormtrooper as well. AC -
They do have quite a bit of inventory and there are also shoeboxes which I've bought to store regular bricks. Those I've bought were specifically for the minifigs and that's how I intend to keep them going forward. AC

Left it since it's not easy to take it out and just a few more days to go. Brown doesn't always mean wood and I've essentially gone with the brown/light gray/dark tan color scheme for the whole MOC. It will all make sense when it;s completed with the backstory to go along with it. That's the design theme that I was going for. AC PS. next update will be the completed MOC. -
Found these at a Dollar Store which would fit a 24x32 baseplate (8x9 minifigs) or 56 CMF minifig stands (8x7 minifigs) plus room for accessories. They're cheap (only a buck each), stackable (five on top should be fine) and clear so you don't have to open them when you're searching for the minifig that you need for that all-important MOC! Go get them! AC

You'll just have to wait another week to see the rest. Updated with Yoda statue. AC -
Mine would be done by next weekend or earlier as I have a half-marathon race to do on Jan 27. There's been plenty of time to build for this contest so I'm presuming a lot of entries would be submitted during the last week. AC

Thanks to Rick for moving this thread as it is a follow-up to the previous MOC. AC

This store keeps the inventory neat and tidy, so I try to keep it in order as I go through the bin. When they're not as busy, they also go through the CMFs and mark which figures are so that it's easier to give to customers who only need specific minifigs. I'm lucky to be given free range to pick through what's out and buy what I need. AC -
