  1. Kinda obvious as to the theme of this MOC and it's very possible that I'm not the only one who'll probably have an entry with the same concept. Also thinking along those lines with the statues/planets/beasts or what not to complement this piece thus far. Yes indeed and this won't be in that category for sure! Looking forward to what you come up with and good luck. AC
  2. Along those lines but it will be clearer the next update. More to come in a few days... Yes, it's only a part of the bigger picture. Yeah, only need to get their DNAs to get started! Not quite that big. Wouldn't that be weird! Either that or they're still having a hangover from the holidays! AC
  3. Posted January 28, 2013 The temple entrance where four statues of unnamed Jedi masters who've protected the temple from the Sith wars is the location for the scene that precedes all of the activity inside the temple... Posted January 22, 2013 Several decades after the destruction of the second Death Star and the annihilation of the Imperial regime, Luke has finally found the location of an old Jedi temple which has been rebuilt to further the learnings on the ways of the force and the life of a Jedi. As he himself was once an apprentice to Jedi master Yoda in the lush swamp planet of Dagobah, he has made sure that Yoda's legacy lives on by paying tribute to his beginnings in the inner sanctum of the temple. The humdrum of activity surround the inner courtyard where Yoda's statue and planet Dagobah stand. Jedi guards keep the chamber secure as the Jedi masters go about daily business with their students. Jedi master Luke alongside R2D2 and C3PO by the grand staircase sends off the younglings to their teachers who'll start them off in their studies. Young padawans listen intently to a Jedi master on the ways of the force by the statue. Visitors from other galactic systems interested in learning more about the institution are given a tour of the facilities which includes the Hall of Heroes. Cast in statues of their likenesses, the Jedi masters who've given up their lives line up the hallway and their accomplishments kept alive in their memory... 4. I want a Queen Amidala and am willing to trade with any minifig of your choice from Prize C. PM me if interested. Thanks, AC
  5. Congrats to all the winners and many thanks to CopMike! Happy Holidays to all! Just sent you a PM. AC
  6. It's a start of hopefully something bigger, so just keep posted on where these Spanish explorers show up next. AC

    2012 MOCs

Time to catch up if you have missed some before. Those two took the longest build time this year. Now that the OT and PT CBs have been done, time to explore the other genres! AC
  9. [pid][/pid]230D At the New World's end, will these Spanish explorers have spent their lives in an ill-advised journey on their quest for El Dorado? The legend of the serpentine idol worshipped by a tribe of natives high in the Andes mountains is now a reality but a peaceful ending nowhere in sight. AC

  11. Somebody gave me a Magneto minifig which I've used to replace the torso of the Imperial Royal Guard for this shot. AC
  12. The Viking ship and Wyvern dragon come from an official set. The CCCX gives me a chance to build in other themes besides SW. I agree about your observation on the axes being too rigidly placed. The minifig posing helps me out in storyteling without exactly writing it. I'm also too lazy to do a full backstory. Notice that the Vikings store their drinks in the same barrels for the whale fat after they've emptied them! I've skipped the gore as kids frequently view my site as well. Just look at the bottom of the page for the other MOCs I've done as CCCX entries. AC
  13. An active Viking whaling outpost processing the recent catch has attracted some unwarranted attention from an airborne predator. AC
  14. Tried different gear pieces and those two together were the best in the lot. Good thing I had enough of them to go around. It's only the second MOC that I've been able to use those gold bricks and they weren't even that prominent in the first. AC
  15. Jabba's palace and I've already raided it for parts for this. AC
  16. This is an entry to the CCCX and sorry I don't really have a back story behind it. As for the chandelier, the wheel came from a Viking set if I'm not mistaken. I've got another version with the crystals but opted for the fire lit. Good thing I got enough of the Sumo or was it the Karate minifig? The phoenix kinda sums up the subtle description. Tried a more elaborate design for the roof similar to the Roman temple but it looked over the top. So I used the Jabba's palace pieces for a color coordinated scheme with the phoenix. If I only had those gears in gold, then it would've been perfect! AC
  17. Better late than never! Just click on the pic to view more details. AC
  18. The legendary exploits of the huntsman are forever enshrined in his memory. AC
  19. It wasn't intended to be a contest entry when I started it. Then I checked the CCCX categories and the MOC was a good fit for the Forest Life. I've considered bridges/ladders but since the footprint was just a 32x32 baseplate, there wasn't much room for that and would've been obscured anyway by the foilage. Exactly! Non-SW this time. Yes, they are! If I probably got another dozen or so, then it would've been larger! Notice the direction of the flow by following the clear cheese slopes. If you look at the other thread, there are lots more members here that have gotten more than I did! Just lucky to have snagged a dozen and see if you can spot them all. Loosely based on that and I wasn't going for story accuracy either. You've gotta start small and learn from the MOCs of the builders that you like. Just don't ask for instructions as I don't give them out as most of my builds are organic. AC
  20. In the midst of the Mirkwood forest runs an enchanted stream closely guarded by elves that protect and repel any unwarranted visitors. These elven guards patrol not only the forest floor, but also the canopy with their uncanny ability to leap from tree top to tree top. Entry to the CCCX contest for the Forest Life category. AC
  21. Quit yappin and better get started on your entry! AC
  22. Thanks all for the comments and you'd most likely see these in some future dioramas that I'll be working on. AC
  23. Wasn't it too obvious? Sorry no plans for that but most likely the one in Virginia next year. AC
