Georgeous video. I love it. You'll have to post the model of your camera. I'm very jealous. (green with envy). I would say my only critique and this is absolutely minor is that the city looks a bit "too busy" if that is even possible. I really love all the details, and the logical layout of your city... especially all those tan town houses on the north side of your city. I'm still cleaning my drool off the floor (and this is not caused by sleep).

Looks good, LT... I didn't know Octan owned car dealerships...

I dont think this is a valid Lego vs Clone brands argument. Lego used to make its bricks in Denmark, Switzerland and in the US. Now most of its bricks are made in Czec Republic, Poland, Mexico, and even China. China, if I remember correctly, makes the Collectible minifigs. I think the key difference is this: the clone brands use 100% production in countries in asia, that they ignore quality issues that may come up. We know if there is an issue with Lego, we can call the consumer line and send in a complaint. I don't think this is available with other clone brands.

Support the bringing back of Cafe Corner and Market Street
medib replied to iKonoKlasT's topic in LEGO Town
...and don't forget you could still buy nearly all the parts off lego factory for the market street a while after they discontinued the production run. -

If they were going to do any celebrating of the release of the modulars, they should give a poll of which is the favorite modular out of how many they issued and let the fans decide, and re-issue the top pick. And I agree that Cuusoo should be used for new creations... -

Instead of re-releasing the old sets, I would prefer if Lego enlarged the pallett on Design-by-Me and Online Pick-a-brick so that models like the cafe corner and market street would really be buildable completely despite the cost. Especially market street which was originally a factory set anyways. Just my 2 cents. Ben -
The only criticism I have that I wouldn't have used that car for inspriation but I think you captured it nicely and even improved upon it. As for construction techniques mentioned by the second poster, I have to agree with you that your techniques are fine. It is definitely "in the spirit" of the competition, maybe perhaps a hair "too complicated" for the competition, but still acceptable in my books. Great model and thanks for posting it.

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
medib replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The set is gorgeous.... I'm definitely setting some of my spare $$$ to buy this. Yeah it is a bit disappointing for only one black falcon in the set, but that Black Falcon Champion is amazing. Who knows, maybe we'll see a black falcons faction in the future... crosses fingers and hopes. -
Pics or it didnt happen....

such a gorgeous engine. Lots of lovely detail. Its black... its intriguing. Did I mention I like the detailing on this model. Not too shabby for a 20 year absence.

Which monorail sets do you own and which do you want?
medib replied to 1980-Something-Space-Guy's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have 1 6399 (marginally complete) and 1 (MISB) 6321 Monorail expansion set. I really wanted to get the monorail when I was a kid, but my parents could not afford it, so as an adult it cost much more to get it off ebay. I really enjoy monorails and I think they are "worth all the hype". I would like another 6399, and maybe one of the space monorails, put these are much further down in my wishlist. Ben -
Its the 7822 on steroids... The lighting is fantastic. This is how "train"ing should be done. Thanks for posting.

Nice Salvo... that City Centre set (aka pizza restaurant) looks really great modularized. Your modular building look really cool. Thanks for posting.

Not to sound overly critical, but if you use Google properly, you can find what you are looking for. I thought this was a lego set, so I used Lugnet, Peeron, and Brickset and all yielded 0 results for 484 as a search query. Google resulted in a hit for Indiana Jones Circus train. The FBTB (from bricks-to-bothans) link had a discussion thread about a circus train designed by Brian Williams. [ Brian Williams Flikr Account, so you can see other creations (especially Indiana Jones) I don't know if you will be able to get any type of instructions to build the model, but... Brian's e-mail address from Lugnet (I dont know how current it is or if it is still valid Brian Williams <brian_williams@ameritech.net/stopspam/> I hope that helped. Ben

Sweet Locutus... thanks for the update and for posting the finishing touches. I'm wondering if Lego would ever re-issue this. I doubt it, but with a price increase, they could make a lot of profit. Ben

Shark... I like the use of plates on the corners of the building. Innovative and looks nice, like you used field stones instead of "brick". Nice going. It looks nice. I would have referred to have used tile on the floors but that is probably my own preference.

I cant believe this has no replies... anyways. Thanks for posting your train mocs, they look very good. I like the ones at the top, they look very realistic. The TTX versions look nice, but I think they look a bit "busy" with the decal. Thats just my opinion, though. I really like the design on your caboose. Its very nice looking.

Great vehicles. I rather enjoy looking at that scoop being dirty...it makes it look real ;) Nice job on modernizing that Maintenance Vehicle (6607). In our city, the city maintenance workers would be driving around in John Deere Gators.

This is very nice. You sold me on this... if there is enough sandblue elements when I get around to work on the 'Grocer, I will have to buy them. The Sand Blue looks great. Thanks for posting this and comparing it to the original.

Cute nifty design. I find the all-red colour scheme a little over-powering in light of your goal to make it an ogel-agroved design. A suggestion would be to make it predominately black (say the roof, the base, and part of the side), and the accents (say the supports, and the rest of the side) in red. Just a suggestion, not trying to make it too much of a critique. Thanks for posting.

I liked the green passenger wagon. I really loved it in blue, which came in the target exclusive. Its just too bad, it was only available in very limited release. I also really loved the concept of the individual train rolling stock. Its too bad that Lego has decided not to continue to sell the rolling stock individually, especially for me as a train enthusiast.

This engine is very nice. Thanks for posting it.
