  1. First, I'm very sorry I didn't post the thumbnails of the pics and let the users decide what pics to see in large format.... (blushes) Second. I don't mind publishing my p.o. box address. I only go there once or twice a month...so the likelihood of endangering my safety is remote. What am I going to get bombarded with junkmail.... ooohh... I'm scared. Ben, who also wishes that Lego had pirate minifigs in its pallet for Lego Factory.
  2. I'm sure if you look hard enough... cough...cough... ebay, you can probably find an airport for $45 to $50 US. hope that points you in the right direction....
  3. congrats, 007 may you live a long and prosperous life. if not, then may you get lots of pirate booty! Ben M.
  4. I finally decided to go to retrieve my mail from my po box from the states. (i live in Canada, btw) I had ordered 2 copies of the cutter back (around $7.50 US each). I think my surprise was seeing a large cardboard box for each of the very small models. picture to show example: Along with the two copies of the cutter back, I put in a bricklink order to purchase 5 white bow pieces, 5 black bow pieces, and 5 white bow plates for the front of the cutters. As well, I decided I needed a few minifigs to crew at least one of the "new" cutters. white bow pieces and some new lego friends: black bow pieces and another photo of my new friends: cutter back "box and boxart": cutter back sealed bag of pieces: a cutter by itself with the bow pieces added: two cutters side by side, one manned by a band of motley crew, the other by a lone soldier:
  5. Wow. Congrats on getting that skull island for your birthday, and "new" in store.... wow. That is amazing. Ben.
  6. Dear me... that's just insanity. Its a beaut... I don't think my wallet could afford something of that grandeur!!! ben m.

    Mountain Ride

I really enjoy the construction of that road, in particular... that was pretty cool (and snotty!!!) nice job! medib.
  8. not too shabby...PegLeg!!! Evil Steevie's!!! Arrrr... I miss playin it! just to have some fun, mateys!!! medib.
  9. I wanted to do these for a while. With a train show (with Thomas the Train) coming this summer, I think in July, I finally decided to do a quick design. Too bad, it is a bit too pricey for me to buy at the moment. Anyhow, here is what I came up with: Lego Factory model Enjoy... Sorry to reply to my own posting, but... the details should say that the trucks are not included because I was too lazy to design them.... Ben
  10. That's my first impression of the new set. It looks like the gas/oil rig of old.... sort of, but with a bit of modification and a bunch of good ol' imagination. Just my impression. Ben M.
  11. Ahhh... I caught the error on the factory link.... brickshelf photo hope this works...
  12. Wow! This was a great alternative. As was said, "nice Imagination" I can't wait to see the 1.1 version, even though the version 1.0 is pretty nice by itself. Just thought I'd post my positive comments. Cheers, Benjamin Medinets
  13. Chuck, nice design and I'm glad you had fun building. I too was hoping for some Maersk Blue in the design, but the white looks very fine. Thanks for posting. Ben M.
  14. V-LF-2C Well, taking a break from the stress of a LDD coffee shop design, I decided to accompany the Rescue ONE with a large apparatus. Without further ado: Brickshelf Picture Model on Lego Factory The only one problem I had with the model is that I need to have yellow doors and I also need to put on the nylon hose and reel. The white "tubes" might get subbed for black ones....hmmm. Notice the all SNOT design on top. Peace out... Ben M.
  15. I tried with the blue...but alas, I only see trans-white, trans-red, and trans-yellow 1 x 1 plates on my Lego Digital Designer.... Ben M. Thanks for your nice comments, though.
  16. Wow. Looks great. I like the tan. It gives it a Pirates of the carribean look more so than an Imperial Trading Post, but I can definitely see the inspiration. And it would be nice if Lego gradually increased the pallette... Nice overall job. Ben M.
  17. V-LF-2B Here is the link: Factory Model Just having a little bit of fire department fun!! Ben M.
  18. Here is a list of the "pirate sets" I have: 6236 King Kahuka 6244 Armada Sentry (love the rare green door, BTW) 6245 Harbor Sentry (first "pirate" set I bought) 6262 King Kahuka's Throne 6263 Imperial Outpost (x2) 6265 Sabre Island (second "pirate" set I bought) 6266 Cannon Cove (x2) (one of the coolest small pirate sets I've seen) 6268 Renegade Runner 6274 Caribbean Clipper 6277 Imperial Trading Post (x2) (both copies from Europe with Shooting Cannons) 6280 Armada Flagship (x1.25)* * - 1 is MISB, and I got a Blue Shell and the main parts to make a second copy 6281 Pirates Periolus Pitfall (I think this one was my first pirate set after my darkage) 10040 Blackseas Barracuda (MISB) the jewel of my pirate collection. 7075 Captain Redbeard's Ship (Jackstone Pirate Ship) (ashamed to even mention it) 4768 Durmstrang Ship (Pirate Related.... very similiar to the Redbeard Ship) Its not bad considering that I spend more of my lego budget on town and train, with a bit of castle. Ben M.
  19. I think it has a lot to with whoever is doing their fulfillment centre in Tennessee... it seems when they moved there, their catalogues changed to single colors (all yellow) and now they gave us catalogues redux. I think the point made that summer is their slowest selling season isn't all that accurate. Between January and July is probably the slowest selling period in the year... January and July are the two times that retailers reconfigure their shelves.... just after inventory after the Christmas rush, and in July to gear up for the Christmas season. US will still get 4 big catalouges, the small catalogues we got now are just to high light the sets that came out in the spring and also to emphasize that there are Starwars stuff on sale. My 2 cents. Posting quickly because my wife says its time to sleep after working all night.....
  20. I voted for Wild West for the same basic rationelle that was already mentioned. a) mainly because Wild West would have the best chance to include minifigs in the pallette. b) they have had robots and animals in creator sets, so why concentrate on making a theme in factory... there should be enough parts in the pallette to make "sets" (using brick-built solutions.) Ben M.
  21. The spirit of the moc was supposed to be an island for a pirate game... but towards the end of the "project", my silliness went overboard and I added too many fun things (well things that would be grossly out of place in a pirate era creation, like the man in the overall with green (exoforce hair) and the man's wife wearing a space jumpsuit with a suit of armor (grey), and of course, the skeleton with his black armor "floating away". There also is a bunch of jewels "hanging" in the windows of the hut. The couple can be seen if you download the creation to lego digital designer and you turn the moc around using the arrow keys on the numeric keypad (secondary arrows??) Just thought I'd point that out. So yah, it WAS supposed to be a pirate MOC, it just got majorly side-tracked towards the end. Ben M.
  22. I was trying to see how much of a cutter from a 6277 Imperial Trading Post I could put together with the current pallett of parts of Lego Factory... here is how far I got: cutter back on Lego Factory I might try to make a "compatible" cutter using 100% available parts from Lego Factory, minus the mast head and the cloth sail. Ben M.
  23. IMO, the Imperial Flagship, no matter how gorgeous it is, doesn't belong in the poll. I know the author of the poll included it to get a broad spectrum of ships within the poll. I chose the Rebel Blockade Runner because it looked cute and was the best looking small ship. The Cross Bones Clipper and Caribean Clipper both have their deficiencies, but would make decent ships for a pirate game (for diversity sake). The Armada flagship is a beaut, but I think it is also too large to include in the poll. Just my 2 cents. Ben M.
  24. In the back of my mind, I always thought the blue coats were always the navy sailors and the red coats (imperials) were the land-based marines. Maybe, I'm too Ango-focused.... As far as prefence goes, I thought the red coats were "cooler" but the blue ones only definitely belonged.... so I chose blue! Ben M.
  25. 6C I become a big, BIG fan of Lego Digital Designer, despite the fact they added new space elements to their pallet and took some others away. Anywho, this is my first genuine attempt at trying to do some decent landscaping (even with a "small scale" creation, less than 32 stud by 32 stud). Without further ado: I hope you like it. Link to this item from Shop@Home Peace out, Ben M.
