  1. Looking forward to seeing this in the correct colours and all stickered up The small scale of this contest seems to drive creativity, your front hubs with both drive and steering are ingenious and rear beam suspension is different. Do the flex axles provide enough spring? It looks like a light model. Stacked beam doors, roof, all 4 wings, I see enough technic in this to keep me happy. Post it up and let the voters decide!
  2. When i saw this: I thought of this: I like the angles on the splitter and doors, any pics of the doors open?
  3. @HRC If you click on a user's name it will take you to their profile where you can see that ED-209 was last online in March 2018 and this thread is from 2015 so it may be that they have taken a break from Lego. Why not download Stud.io or Lego Digital Designer and challenge yourself to reverse engineer the model? It's a small model and the photos are nice and clear. The only place you might have to speculate is probably underneath (no pics). I suspect the wheels are on 3L beams connected to the body by friction pins and rotate out.
  4. Instantly recognisable shape! The louvres on the rear window are done well. Is there clearance on the pop up headlights to use 2x2 transparent boat stud?
  5. Really like the steering setup, virtual pivot steering helps keep the wheelarches small. It's very hard at this scale to do hubs without using 15460 snowmobile hub. Are you using 1L pins to limit the turn and stop the arms locking straight?
  6. @Didumos69 Cheers, that's the one. So many threads it's hard to keep up with all the different ideas
  7. Someone has posted (I think) a TC18 build using 41678 perpendicular pin and axle connector as a virtual pivot steering hub. I tried to find it but can't. Does anyone recognise it?
  8. I hope you put it in neutral first if you're going to tow a RWD car like that
  9. Welcome to eurobricks @Peachikov08 Photos need to be hosted on an external site like bricksafe or Flickr. A good place to start reading is the Eurobricks FAQ where there are links to tutorials.
  10. I got a nice surprise the other day when the wife gave me a copy of 42091 Pullback Racer. Before I built it I checked out Jim's review which makes interesting reading especially with regard to the design. My first thought was "Dark azure parts pack" but I always build models once before MOCing. Once assembled (I don't use stickers) it became apparent that the designer was told to build a police car but really wanted an F1 car so they sneakily included all the parts necessary. 94 parts used and sturdy enough to crash into the skirting board The white flex axle is quite bent so I wouldn't leave this built as a display model but for a short while it seems fine.
  11. Seems fast enough for indoors. Whilst not a TC18 entry did you try and keep to the size and tyre limits? I might have a go myself.
  12. Great looking car! I particularly like the front view. When I saw the first pic I assumed it was some kind of cartoon car, then I googled it and it turned out to be a real thing
  13. Welcome to Eurobricks Konstrakt_Abstrakt Your concept sounds very interesting and I'd love to see some pictures. There is no hosting on Eurobricks itself but why not make an account on Flickr or Bricksafe and post some up? Sometimes threads with nothing but a youtube link come across as simply trying to drive traffic to your channel.
  14. I want to try my TC18 entry with a different colour roof but lack the parts. I thought this would be a good time to try out Stud.io and I've built 98% of it digitally, I just need a hand with that last 2% I need some help connecting a flex axle that curves, I have two pillars that need connecting at strange angles and two rubber connectors that need to be compressed. Any tips on how to share the file would be appreciated too. Edit: It seems Stud.io doesn't do flex axles ATM
  15. Entry is now posted so I'll be taking this apart soon to build something else (maybe even 42093 which I bought just for the wheels) but I'm still tinkering with it. New door panels and tried filling in some gaps. Render in Stud.io with white roof.
  16. Just watched the video, the music makes me want to watch the films all over again! Using the Mr. Fusion as a HOG is a clever idea and the doors seem to work really well (a similar setup to 42069?) Don't forget to add a link to this discussion thread in your entry topic.
  17. I assume the letters are 3x3 and attach via headlight bricks? Maybe you can do something with 32028 plate with rail where you build it into the wall.
  18. Looks like a good start with a clever way of linking the steering wheel and HOG. Once the pressure of the competition is over I'd love to know more about the cars already on your transporter.
  19. Part 3680 2x2 turntable base is always a popular choice.
  20. I like that this contest is showing off some unusual ways of achieving suspension on a compact build. I'm not familiar with that part, how much does it flex? I'd be inclined toward something that utilised that low chassis. The ford GT40 was known for being low or a 50's racer like the Jaguar D type or Porsche 550? Or just arch a couple of flex axles over the top and let the mechanicals do the talking
  21. 11. British Classic Functions include front and rear independent suspension, steering, tilting seats, opening doors and bonnet. Details include engine and interior. Link to discussion topic.
  22. Nice work on making it a C model of one existing set. Mid engine and that flat rear cover make me think of Lancia 037 and Ford RS200.
  23. I did try extending the blue beam and using a rack but the tyres rubbed on turning. I also found this little beauty which I think belonged to a blue go kart? The car is about finished now, everything works reliably and its sturdy enough for me. The body and chassis remain largely the same. I've changed some L beams at the front which rubbed and secured the headlights better. Functions are the same as before, opening doors and bonnet, tilting seats, steering via steering wheel (no HOG) and independent front and rear suspension. Not functional but very decorative transverse 4 cylinder engine. All bodywork easily removable. Well within size limit still. And finally if you've read this far my inspiration from many years ago
  24. Spent a bit of time on this over the weekend and came up with this based on the suggestion of @1980SomethingSpaceGuy Cheers! Having the steering axle above the blue beam means there is no limiting as in his example. There is a rubber band to provide this function which also stops the beam from lifting. @amorti I had completely forgotten about 3743 1x4 gear rack. I even have a couple in my parts from the 80's box but at 4L I would have needed to put it near the centre line of the car and then linked the steering wheel with gears or chain (or thinking about it as I type a parallel link) Updated pics to follow and then I think it's time for the entry post...
  25. Looking at this on my tiny phone the rest is so accurate my mind filled in the missing detail It really does look just like a Porsche dealer. Love the poster of 42096
