  1. Here's some updated bootlegs with some official pieces. The Green Arrow figures have Christo's Arrow alongside SH Customs' The Archer (both left) with Decool Arrow with updated head and hips with SY's SDCC GA figure on the right with official arms and head. Sam wilson has official hair, arms and legs. Aqua man is just the torso with everything else official, Batman is the same.. official head, cowl, cape and legs and Green Lantern follows this with official head, hair and legs. Red Tornado is alongside the EclipseGrafx version from a few years ago.
  2. I think any bigfigs by SY have removable heads. Igor Iron Man is removable.
  3. I think even impoverished Asian kids are wondering just how many mechs they need!
  4. Kind of like the new Superman with a little stubble? ;)
  5. Well looking at the SW UCS list and their price point: Death Star 7.5p per piece SSD 11p per piece X Wing 10p per piece B Wing 11p per piece Ewok Village 10p per piece Sandcrawler 7p per piece Slave 1 8p per piece TIE Fighter 10p per piece We can then look at a couple of other recent large UCS sets: Hellicarrier 9p per piece GBHQ 6p per piece Tumbler 8.5p per piece Rather than trying to be selective on cheaper price per brick sets I've looked at most of the SW UCS sets along with recent licensed UCS sets and the price point is between 6p and 11p per piece. Those price points seem to point at a 5000 piece set being reasonable for Β£550. Even going for 12p per piece (which no other SW UCS set has been) would still only put it at Β£600. I'm not remotely interested in getting involved in an argument on whether it's realistic... I think things speak for themselves... and everyone knows how 'special' you have to be to get involved in an argument on the internet.
  6. I think there are so many mods that have improved the original 10179 that there's plenty of scope for updating that set and keeping those ultra rare pieces to the original model. The rear engines section and the dish could easily be updated especially if they make it a TFA based MF. Hellicarrier is Β£269 so even doubling that cost would bring it in under the Β£550 mark. I think if there's one licensed set that they could put out that would sell enough at that price point it's the MF. I agree with Fup in feeling that the Β£350 for the SSD wasn't worth it especially due to the odd scaling and the overall aesthetic whereas a minifig scale Falcon at Β£500 would be a no brainer.
  7. I received both my orders on Saturday but unfortunately they'd missed both my Luke heads out. I emailed them and had a very sweet response telling me that as they were licensed they weren't really allowed to send me them but they would as a 'treat'... It's almost like Customer Service have no idea that there are any licensed parts on B&P at all.
  8. I think the fact that I also work in the creative sector has given me plenty of opportunity to show off Lego without any awkwardness. When I was at my last agency and we re-arranged the office I took my Falcon in and out it on display alongside someone's VW Camper. There's plenty of very wealthy Japanese Executives with shelves full of toys in their offices to make me feel better about my hobby should I ever feel the need for approval... which I don't, thankfully. ;)
  9. Mixelbuster armour obviously...
  10. Well we're getting him in a worn stormtrooper outfit but the helmet might be pushing it a little...
  11. If that's out in the open now then the usual Chinese and Mexican sources on Taobao etc should be interesting to watch over the next month or so... They had parts of many figs such as Harley, Nick Fury etc months before release.
  12. I buy most of mine from the Lego store in Liverpool and the staff there know very clearly what's for me and what's for my daughter. I moved house recently and one of the removal men said 'You're a bit old for Lego aren't you?'... so I obliged him with a 'No' accompanied by a 'just carry the f***ing box like I'm paying you to' look. I offer cashiers the same look if they try the 'special' look.
  13. It's just a scary thought... Sorry! ;)
  14. A surprising choice, that's for certain, but I don't see anything from that image to suggest it's anything other than legit. With the inclusion of him I'm kind of expecting the whole gang now!... even if one of them ends up being a promo. [please don't let it be an SDCC figure]
  15. Joker is still active on the forum but he's not posted in this thread for 6 months... Maybe better to PM him for a response.
  16. I actually just remembered two figure who have recently had new figures released that don't feature arm printing while their older counterparts do... Bespin Guard and Greedo. Admittedly, they're not just the same figure but without the arm printing, but it does show that there are times when Lego have different priorities when it comes to figure production in a set.
  17. Let's wait and see. Sounds like the kind of thing that just ends up coming back here as a source. It very well may happen but time will tell.
  18. For me, the best bootleg figures of this year have been the clone of Phoenix Custom's Spiderman with the silver web printing as I think that might be the best printed figure I've had from a bootleg. I also liked the DLP Batman Beyond for just being simple and really well done. I'd probably also have to say the 2011 SDCC Batman figure as it's something I've wanted for a long time and SY made an absolutely perfect version of him.
  19. Buy some long legs to replace them?
  20. I personally think the modding on here is easily the most evenly handed modding on any forum I've visited. I was member of a Hi-Fi forum a few years ago and that place was like a bar brawl... but it was fun... definitely not for the thin skinned or faint hearted. Lego fans can be a little more genteel than some of the Hi-Fi mob... I'd hope that the fact this is an adult forum means that people can accept that at times moderation needs to be done firmly as well as sometimes letting things just flow and hopefully stay on track. Even if things are done firmly... or even directly (without too much flowering up of language) I always the mod is a real person who is having to make decisions for the good of the board and not an automaton blindly following rules.
  21. I'd keep hold of those new parts then... if BL says they're not available then at some point they may help pay for your GG!
  22. I hope that Superman hair is made in good number from either Lego B&P or bootleggers for a non-flight suit Poe Dameron.
  23. I think we all know that as things go on dual moulding and 360ΒΊ printing will become more and more of a regular occurrence. This all started because of the Boba Fett figure in the Slave 1 not being the same as the figure in the upcoming Freezing Chamber... but let's not forget... this exact character has previous for this exact same thing. 10123 Cloud City was released in 2003 with leg and arm printing on Boba Fett... up to 3 years later Lego was still using the 'updated' (bley instead of classic grey) version without arm and leg printing. 12 years later they put Fett in a new UCS set and then simplify it for the non-UCS set. It's nothing to lose sleep over.
