  1. Decool is one of many Chinese brands that have been putting out Lego clone products for a while. It started with minifigures and has grown into cloning full sets. The figures started off pretty badly BUT some of the companies are actually putting out figures that are pretty close in quality to Lego and when they've cloned a new Lego product there have been occasions when it's very difficult to tell them apart. With figures there are obviously licensing issues that they're ignoring... especially when it comes to range such as the Super Heroes themes etc... so there are immediate issues there... but there has always been a 'grey' area when it comes to custom minifigs... even those that are printed on genuine Lego parts because those minifies are created by Lego under license to DC or Marvel etc but the customisers don't hold that license so they're breaking the same copyright laws as the Chinese bootleggers but are actually considered part of the Lego community and are, for the most part, ignored by the license holders even though the customisers have stores in the US and sell things by the hundreds and thousands. Increasingly there is a pattern of complete sets being copied and this seems to have now moved on from simply jumping on the Super Heroes / Star Wars / Chima etc themes to purer building themes such as Technic. First thing to realise is that while Minifigure parts are more specific so the change in plastic is easier to mask the clone bricks are nowhere near the quality of Lego... it can hurt to build with them... even small sets so I wouldn't attempt building a complicated Technic set. Making people aware of the difference between a clone brand and a genuine product is important but none of the clone bricks carry a Lego stamp on any of the studs so they'll be very easy to spot should someone try to pass things off as a genuine product.
  2. Regardless of who the figures in the set are, the fact that there are licensed figures that are available to a single continent and then further limited to a single retailer is something that will cause people to be 'upset'. There are many facets to having Lego as a hobby and invariably one of them is 'collecting'. Even those that are builders collect the pieces they need to make mocs. It's one thing having SDCC figures making a very limited appearance and thus increasing in value at an alarming rate... but when you start to add other characters, however obscure, getting similarly limited release someone will be unhappy.
  3. None of my post was meant to come across as bitter... more realistic. I don't think any of us move on properly until we're at least realistic about our situation. About where we are and what has happened. I'm interested in whether the forum as a whole does actually use this space as somewhere to air grievances or seek reassurance. I find cyber friendships can be a little odd. We feel like we know people... we read their posts and form opinions on them / friendships with them but invariably never meet them. I think it's just feeling there's an ally somewhere... an ally with at least one common form of interest.
  4. To be honest the only reason I bought the set was the fact they printed my artwork up... but I'm glad I did. The Arrow figure has really surprised me in the quality of the overall print. Once I switch out the hips for regular dark green and give it a genuine good it's definitely one to keep.
  5. Got my Decool Arrow wave today and besides an issue with a wrong part I have to say I'm impressed. I'll start by saying I don't like Black Canary or Deathstroke but their print of my Arsenal is actually quite good. I'll post a comparison next to a genuine one. Switched out the Malcolm Merlyn head as well as the hips and the hood hides the sharp shoulders so it's a keeper. Ras has a nice print in his torso and legs but I've swapped out the arms for flesh versions as well as the head and hair from my old moc version. Arrow himself is the thing I'm most impressed with. The print is very accurate to the game version but the head is a bit iffy. I've switched that out for a genuine GA head and think it looks good... But it's the details on the printed arms that make it... Just a shame one of them is missing!
  6. Being in the UK I'm not sure how Target arranges it's stock or how it distributes from online only to in-store stock but it would surprise me if this ended up as an online only thing. Surely the entire stock of them wasn't just snapped up online? Their warehousing surely had stock set up for delivery to stores rather than just one big pile that was allocated only to online sales. I'm thinking that maybe the online stock was accidentally sold early but the store stock will be shipped out on it's planned release date. That said I'm just waiting for confirmation that mine has reached my friend in Texas before it gets shipped over to me.
  7. I think he means the piece that has the most quantity in the set... i.e. if there are 32 of a particular piece then find the cheapest store that has 18 of them and then see if they have any other items that are also needed in the set.
  8. Never trust them to do what? Do they owe you money? ;)
  9. I don't think duplication of figures is anything that has stopped a set coming out before. I don't event think they have the problem of looking at their product and thinking 'This is crap... let's not bother'... They've put out much worse in the past. There will probably be another very simple reason behind their cancellation... and it's not down to worrying about market saturation.
  10. I don't think that's Cyzarro... even on the small CGI image the torso print looks symmetrical which would mean it's not damaged... and not Cyzarro. I think these are actually just new designs of the JL. I know people want new characters but even if this just had a nicely done New 52 Supes torso I'd buy the whole set. I just hope they've done a nice job of the rest of the figures too. Over at Flickr someone made an excellent MOC of a Hitler based figure which was Remus Lupin's dark tan suit, Indy's dark tan pants with holster and Indy's satchel along with J Jonah's head print and a Brickforge dark tan cap. I think the cap on this one should be a very good alternative for that. I see the fake GI Joe figures are taking designs from various places including a Citizen Brick soldier head with the loosened chin straps... while I wouldn't normally hold out much hope on a set like this the sample figure of Storm Shadow from the OLS design we've seen is excellent so you never know. It's certainly better than the CGI image.
  11. There are several interior designs for Falcons that I've seen including a model that is larger than 10179 but is essentially an interior with some external work as a casing rather than a full build Falcon with interior. It's actually by Titans Creations. Here's their Flickr link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/titanscreations/ Other than that the system scale falcons already have an interior which you can modify as you see fit. On a side note... I think anyone who tries to submit any kind of Millennium Falcon to Lego Ideas should have a surge of electricity sent down their internet connection to burn their fingers. That should be for original ideas... not someone's MOC of a very well known idea belonging to someone else.
  12. I'm pretty sure this thread will be merged with one of the various other 10179 threads but there are several people who can offer good advice on this. Lobot (the mod) for one has BL'd several 10179s so is a good source of info. You should be able to get all pieces but some are prohibitively expensive such as the dish, rigging, levers etc in the right colour. My advice would be to compile a list of the parts that can be picked up as an alternate to the more expensive, genuine items such as the technic framing that is hidden in the build and go from there. Compare prices direct from Lego as that can also be cheaper and will have free shipping once you order over a certain amount. Don't be afraid to order some items that aren't the cheapest available on BL if you can save on shipping costs.... and also be aware of any import duty you may incur when ordering from abroad. While you may look like you're saving money getting hit with a 10%-20% import duty and handling fees will scupper any savings.
  13. Each one of those looks like they have printed legs and it also looks like that could be New 52 Supes. Looking at the prelim image Batman is the BvS figure but with a dark grey cowl... if so I'm getting quite a collection of different coloured cowls... Different designs for GL as well as Aquaman too... I'll always welcome a new GL design if it's done well. Hopefully Red Tornado is done well too!
  14. I might be wrong but I don't think you can sell instructions to a set at the same time that it's on Ideas? Might have to check that one.
  15. ...and with that the hug thread lands with a bump. I think the point of the above post is to realise that all things are relative. Being with someone for a year feels like a long time... but isn't really. It depends on how old you are and how experienced you are with relationships. Iv'e been with my wife for 17 years and had several 1+ year relationships before that. Shit happens. Depression is a terrible thing. I've never suffered from it but my wife has and I know how hard is was for her... she's much better now but I don't think people ever get 'over it'. I lost my job a few years ago and my mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease almost the same time as well as my wife's dad being diagnosed with Cancer. It's still no reason to end it all. My mum is doing fine and my wife's dad is also doing OK with constant medication... I work for myself and have never been happier. Different stresses but that's life. Having a 6yr old also gives you a lot to do and think about and you don't have time for moping around. With a pinch of that perspective I talked about earlier... I do work for an international charity and have done several reports from war torn places around the world... in the Central Africa Republic there's atrocities that happen every day... you probably don't hear about them because there's no oil in C.A.R. so the usual suspects don't give a shit and you won't have the US or Russia looking to intervene... but kids have seen their parent's die and have been abandoned by older siblings just in the hope that they can survive. Children are raped and murdered. Families are raped and murdered in front of children. Some of them get out and get help... and they learn to come to terms with what's happened. The lives each of us have are like a dream to them. While Mr Umbra's comments may seem harsh I think people need to take a step back... see the bigger picture. See what they have and appreciate it. Relationships end. You'll have people that you care more for than you care for your ex and you'll lose them It happens every day and as much as it hurts now it won't after a while. It's either a hug or a kick up the big behind you need... I think this thread should offer both. By the way... I don't want a hug... I'm not posting here for one and the things I've mentioned above are just something that have been part of my life. My friends in the real world outside of this forum are part of the reason I'm the relatively happy person I am. That and every other thing that has happened in my life to get me to the age of 42... that and some sense of perspective on life. Don't focus on the negative and sometimes just accept it when someone tells you to cheer the f**k up. Sod it. Buy Lego.
  16. Me and you both! I'll be keeping an eye out for that shuttle at the £60 mark from now on.
  17. Yeah... even in a quiet spell between waves SY could put out another 8 pack and be pretty close to nailing it. I think they sometimes struggle with design though. Without someone else's designs to copy they can be quite off in their product at times. With them expansing into other themes and areas than Superheroes though I'm not sure when they'd have a 'quiet' period.
  18. Argos currently have a 3 for 2 on all toys which is quite handy. I've noticed that Smyths Toys are posting out leaflets for this Black Friday week with a voucher for £6 off when you spend £20 in store.
  19. These have also surfaced. I grabbed these courtesy of Hothbricks Flickr.
  20. The information we have so far on next year's sets are on the first page of the DC 2016 thread here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110607&st=0 For better images of each of the figs that have been leaked there's a Flickr member who seems to get the figures early here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/98613141@N06/ They look transparent too! Yeeeesh!
  21. I got them shipped to a friend in Texas who will then ship them to me in the UK. I just paid for them from the site and sent the shipping cost via Paypal. It works out much cheaper than trying to get one in Europe on the after market. Each cube only costs £7 and shipping for both of them is around £8 or so?
  22. I just checked and thankfully the cubes I ordered have been shipped but it does certainly seem to have sold out online at least temporarily... or been withdrawn. I remember last year people were saying there were shelves full of them in-store so I'm sure they'd cater for the store shoppers as well as the online shoppers.
  23. The Ghostbusters gear is by BrickForge and has been around for a few years: https://www.brickfor...ts-and-Devices/ I think the Spectro Goggles and Energy Meter are must haves for my GB figures but the Particle Gun and Particle Pack are nice alternatives to the brick built Lego versions.
  24. Nobody should disbelieve J2G. We've had many rumour makers pop up, talk crap and wander off with their tails between their legs... J2G is not one of them... if he writes it here it's how he heard it... and invariably how it will happen. Same for several other excellent sources we have in our midst.
