Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Robianco replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
They've had licensed parts on for so long though that I don't suddenly see them taking them all off. The parts for most of last years DC wave such as Darkseid Attack was there from day of release except for the odd couple of things such as Green Arrow's folded down hood. People seem to have really picked up on it this year though (actually the end of last year) so we'll see what kind of effect that has on the stock list. I must admit I was disappointed to see someone use the 'Broken Parts' section to get some of the licensed parts as that's the quickest way to get things removed... it's also the quickest way to get yourself blacklisted from the replacement parts section as other people have found out. I don't see ordering from the B&P section as 'cheating' as they're clearly there for sale but abusing the replacement service is a no-no for me. The statement on the Customer Service section doesn't indicate to me that they'll change their stock all that much other than update it but we'll know in Feb for sure. -
Bricklinking the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon :-)

To be honest I'd hoarily go for the custom printed version if it's on a genuine Lego piece... especially at that price. I may PM you for the details of the seller! -
I know there are videos posted on YouTube of someone testing some bricks for traces of things like lead and they came up clear.

I'm pretty sure you said you'd pay anything for certain Dr Who sets. Do you magically get his money when that happens? -

"How far that little candle throws his beams. So shines a good deed in a weary world." It's nice to see some genuine enthusiasm for this set regardless of the consensus about cost, piece count, build etc. -
Whether or not there should be discussions of bootleg material allowed on the forum I'd say that you should spend some time around the Licensed and Star Wars forums around the times of leaks if you want to see some real immaturity. I've visited the bootleg discussion thread regularly since it started and there's far less of the 'entitled five year old' behaviour there than at various times throughout the year in the yearly rumour threads. Some people may choose to only visit those threads and as such the community posts don't count towards your total EB post count but as long as the threads remain then people who are interested will visit them.

[MOC] Millennium Falcon - Still the coolest spaceship!
Robianco replied to marshal_banana's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think it's a case of him changing his mind rather than it just not being something he thinks of or is able to do. He just builds. Hopefully some good shots of the broken down build can shed some light on this witchcraft. -

Batman and Joker from the Tumbler were around £25/€35 and that was a £170 set. I'd say that there's 7 figures that will be similar with Penguin/Bruce/Dick running cheaper. Even so that would make the figures and the Batmobile close to the RRP if going on the secondary market. If this is indeed a poor seller then those figures will go high. *edited for very odd predictive spelling error* -

I'm thinking even Dick and Bruce will be going for £15/€20... Maybe Penguin as his hat is exclusive will be a little more than usual but the rest of them including Mr Freeze would push the minifig price way up. Seven other figures that are exclusive are going to make it worth picking the set up even if you just want the figs rather than BL them. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Well at one point you could pick the inquisitor up as separate parts at B&P from Lego for around £5 and you could get Kallus helmet, head and legs for around £2 or so. I think they've both gone from there now though and B&P is closed for Winter. As yet no bootleg company has made those figures. I think Sabine is the only Rebels figure to make an appearance. -

I must admit that looking at the Penguin on the show the face isn't too bad... It's the torso with the closed button on the jacket which is the one thing that's off as all reference I could see had the jacket open with the white dress shirt showing. I think I may have to spray a white band around some regular black legs for his spats. -

The Simpson's House is the one thing on that list that shows the price disparity in that and this Batcave more than any others. We've known that there's a licensed premium which is why things like the Parisian Restaurant and the Detective's Office can be similar piece counts but cheaper whereas the Simpson's House is also a licensed set and is a 'property' build with vehicles and accessories so has a physical comparison to the Batcave. The computer banks and lab being on their own is something that stood out for me also but a baseplate can hopefully rescue that situation. It probably should have been around $220 or so which would have landed it at around £200 for the UK release. That being said I'll be biting the bullet and picking this up and taking the VIP points as some solace along with the Mr Freeze promo fig (which all being well we'll get). For those who are minifig collectors I can see these going for around £30 each or so on the secondary market (except for Penguin) with Bruce and Dick being slightly lower. If that Batman figure doesn't appear in anything else it'll be heading for original Alfred territory once retired. -

Let me know where you can buy Cafe Corner for $120. That MOC was just copied from the version in LB3 though. For any of it's faults I don't think the set can be accused of copying other people's designs. -

Unfortunately the pictures often used on bootlegs are of genuine Lego. The new SW figures are perfect examples of that. Zoom in and you can see the Lego stamps on things. Whether that is extended to the renders of the vehicles from the SW wave I'm not sure. -
Just2Good is indeed a very reliable source but I think things are sometimes open to change. The most reliable things about J2G, and the other people who are able to give us information, is that they never post anything knowing it to not be true... or at least try to mislead anyone. They tell us is as they hear it. I'm leaning towards them being genuine but as with all leaks there's a chance that it may not be as it seems.

I'd like anything that was released as a Kenner figure that we don't have yet. Ponda Baba 4-Lom Zuckuss Tessek Imperial Dignitary Leia (Bespin Dinner) Cloud Car Pilot Snaggletooth Nien Numb Orrimaarko 8D8 Amanaman Salt-Marae EV-9D9 (I'm saying we have Momaw Nadon and Imperial Protocol Droid as we kind of did get them just under different names) I'd also include Bespin Luke and Bespin Lando in there but I have pad printed customs on the way of those. I know some of these didn't even have speaking parts but as a kid Kenner figures were my life so I'd like to have these over most others. I'd also like: General Jan Dodonna Bail Organa Dr Evazan Wuher The last few figures are pretty much as a lot of people have requested.

I must admit that the use of the Penguin seemed a little poor but looking at the reference material it's only that the jacket doesn't normally fasten on the '66 version otherwise it's a pretty good likeness so I can live with that. All of the other figures look great and even if a couple of the faces are repeated they don't look like they're being shoehorned in so again, I'm fine with any reuse there (if they are indeed reused). Overall I'm as excited as I was from seeing the prelim images, if not more, so It'll be a definite day one buy for me. Especially with getting to add Mr Freeze in to this set. If anything that really does highlight the glaringly obvious omission of Batgirl.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I don't think I'll ever buy a bootleg set. The quality of some of the figures are really up there and I like to mix them up with genuine Lego to take them up a level when I can but sets don't appeal at all. As much as buying the Decool version of the Bat Tank would be very cheap it's just not something I'd do. I may be stating the obvious here and maybe it's something I've just not realised but is Lepin related to Duo Le Pin or DLP? The arms on Kylo Ren look like the old SY shoulders which could make sense if they are DLP as they're the only bootlegger with those shoulders. Is that just me? That Stormtrooper helmet is hideous though. -

I think that's a BrickForge mould. I have that blaster and I think I bought it from there. -
I don't mind that price at all for those two ships.

You'd have to be pushing it to test that limit though... except maybe on ordering small tiles but you'd just go to BL for that surely.

That's because it's been massively enlarged. If the resolution isn't there in the image to begin with it won't take any kind of enlargement and will just blur and get visual artefacts on it.

Robianco replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nope. It's still down. -
It seems you are, indeed, correct. I must admit that trying to look at those figures and work them out based on appearance and length of names can be misleading. The figures that look like Dengar doesn't have a single word name. Sabine's figure does seem to have a single word name but Sabine has always had 'Wren' with it. Train could also be Captain June Sato as pointed out... he also has blue arms etc so is closer in appearance to that Rebel leader than Tarkin. I think we'll need something a little clearer or further down the line to be firmer on what these are.
-
Wouldn't Tarkin be 'Governor' rather than 'Grand Moff' at the time of Rebels? A figure would've great but it would need at least the Dr Who hairpiece to make it worthwhile.
