  1. I don't think they'll ever be available at retail stores here in the UK either. I see the discussion has indeed moved from whether it's Mega Bloks, Kreo etc hurting Lego and is actually down to the Chinese bootleggers. If we look that the main market for these is the far east... which also happens to be Lego's fastest growing market... it can't be doing too much damage. I dare say that there are occasions whereby people move onto the aspirational brand that is Lego from being introduced from cheaper, and basically inferior sets, from the bootleggers. I must admit that I've never seen a single figure or brick or set which has been branded as Lego that wasn't. They're all clearly branded as something else. Let's face it... it you bought a watch on a market stall that had the name 'Omiga' that was £20 and ended up stopping after a day or two you're not going to suddenly think that a £2500 Omega is crap are you? I don't buy the argument that people buy things branded by a chinese knock off, massively reduced and think it's genuine Lego.
  2. I think it may have been me... but I'm sure it was in your head anyway! ;) In the past I've got Sabine Wren, AT-DP Pilot, Inquisitor, Asajj Ventress, Scuba Robin, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Sinestro, Green Lantern, Space Batman... maybe some others. This time you can get Luke Jedi from Final Duel, Naboo Guard, (almost) Han Solo in Endor Camo... and various other parts that almost make complete figures. When you think that Finn's legs, torso and hair are there and you could simply buy Cyborg's head that would make a pretty good Finn fig too.
  3. That would be really good. To be fair they could probably put a decent one together with bits of Black Beard or classic Pirate and a nice mask print on the head etc.
  4. From the last couple of SH waves then onto SW I've always popped over and searched through the recent licensed sets to see what parts are available. After all the fuss over Sabine's helmet only being included in an expensive set it's around 90p to buy from B&P. Captain Phasma torso is on there too... lots of other minifig parts. There are several full figures available to put together too... The Dejarik table on the new Falcon is on there which I've ordered to update my 7965 also.
  5. For those that are interested in picking up a few licensed figure parts, especially those from SW such as Finn's hair and torso, as well as Luke from the Final Duel, Han from the Tydirium and various other parts may want to pop over to the Bricks and Pieces site... Easy way to get an upgrade to your Dejarik table for those of us sticking with 7965 for less than £1.
  6. Not Pick a Brick... Bricks and Pieces. Lots of licensed figure parts there such as Spidey's moulded blue and red boots, Deathstroke's dark blue and orange moulded boots, various SH torsos, SW torsos... lots of goodies.
  7. Lego itself is a clone brand if you want to label them that way. Mega bloks isn't a clone brand. Kreo isn't a clone brand. Many other brick and stud based manufacturers aren't clone brands... They're competitors... Each to a different level but each with their own products and licenses. I'm not sure if you're also including Chinese bootleg brands in this? They clone Lego products but don't brand themselves as Lego... Much like the mainstream competitors don't. I'll add that several of the bootleg brands actually have quite good plastic quality... And no... The plastic or the print isn't poisonous in any way and won't eat your children. If you weren't including these brands then best they're kept out of the conversation I think you'd have to be a special kind of dim to buy a product then label all products in that genre from that one experience... I'm not sure why someone would buy a Mega Bloks set, not like it then think Lego is crap... Or vice versa. Competition is good for Lego. They can't be the only brick toy in the world with every license available. Diversity and choice is needed for a healthy market. I'll also add that Brick Warriors, Brick Forge etc simply supply accessories for brick system toys, primarily Lego of course but compatible with others. Not damaging in any way... Merely enhancing.
  8. That was the only thing I couldn't get! Other things previously listed as 'out of stock' were available though so I'll keep checking for that. Finn hairpieces, Finn's jacket, Sabine's helmet, dual moulded legs...
  9. For those that like to mod their figures or create customs from official pieces it might be a good time to have a nose around the Bricks and Pieces selection. I may have just made an order and got some very nice things from there that I would not have thought were available to buy. Possibly.
  10. That Batman image looking like Black Beard is a little misleading... It's the cover of Return of Bruce Wayne Issue 3 and he never actually looks like that in the pages of the comic... not even close. I'd prefer that as a variant over how he did appear in the comic but I think we're more likely to get something closer to that action figure... so that way it's more a case of a new print on the torso but we're still just using existing cowl moulds etc.
  11. I ordered mine on Amazon and it's also the place I'll be ordering my Cosmic Clash Blu-ray. Most consistent way I've found of getting them in the UK.
  12. I'm not sure but you may get lucky with ordering the SY set was they started to update those old sets with the regular legs. I bought a second set and while the legs were still a little iffy they had updated to the rounded shoulders and the print was better. Adding regular black legs and the official TLG head and hair my SDCC Supes is pretty much perfect.
  13. It's an SY set (SY222) which had the four 'chambers'. Batman, Iron Man, Green Arrow & Flash. Here's Digger's review: The Arrow wave has some excellent figures and I think that might be the most recent Decool wave.
  14. I don't think it's from anything in particular... rather just SY knocking up a design which is roughly based on Batman begins judging by the shape of the Bat emblem and the belt design.
  15. Thanks Wilson! Much appreciated. Now I've seen the Batman torso like that with the thinner lines I actually really like it. I think it'll benefit from simpler legs but I definitely like it. Aquamann is the star of the show there and plain green legs will make that a superb figure (once the head has been switched out). Red Tornado may actually get to keep his legs as they don't bother me as much as the others. Plain black legs on GL too... along with a new face mask. Flash's arms definitely might get added to a regular TLG Flash figure. Is it just me or have Dargo really stepped things up with those SW figures?! That Kylo looks like a half decent copy and the Sabine looks fine. The helmet is actually the best thing about the figure.
  16. I agree that there's a lot of design and print going on here... and not always successful. I must admit I quite like the GL torso but I think I'll be using plain black legs with it... a replacement head does without saying.... This kind of feels like a better version of the wave they did, which was mostly awful, but introduced the double sided heads and gave us a unique Batman variant. The design on those figures was pretty bad and just featured the usual suspects including Hulk, Wolverine, Spidey, Supes etc but it was an experiment wave and they then went on to have double sided heads on everything... same way they updated the shoulders and the arms to be more like Lego. I think Red Tornado might suits having plain red legs but at least the head design looks in proportion. Same as Aquaman for me... plan green legs would make that a great figure. I think i might give that one a beard (Thor head) and go of a variation. Superman could do with plain blue legs or the Spiderman/booted legs while Flash's arms might look nice added to a regular Lego flash torso. Wonder Woman and Cyborg are the weakest for me.... as is Bats... I don't like the glossy finish to the new cowl and the torso might look better when it's in hand but looking at it there it's nothing special. I think it needs a black cowl with the black printed head too. Overall they're very much worth the £5 or so for the set of 8. Could I request a close up of GL, Batman, Aquaman and Red Tornado along with Kylo and Sabine from the Dargo set? I'd just like a really good look at them straight on to see what Legs to add. Thanks in advance.
  17. I've never had an issue getting hold of any Lego sets I've wanted but I don't try and pick up everything from a certain theme. Maybe it's because I have a Lego store near me but I was in the other day and there were two shelves full of around 20 or so of the Doctor Who Ideas set and that was just what was on show so I think any panic on getting hold of it is unnecessary. I could have bought as many as needed while they were still selling on eBay for £69.99. I think it's the panic of the fan that fuels itself. It was only a few years ago I remember if people saw a queue at a petrol station they assumed there was going to be a shortage and would join the queue... eBay can be a bit like that with Lego. Advent calendars were in much more plentiful supply this year but if you wait until Dec 1st to pick one up then it's your own fault if they're gone.
  18. I ordered a few figures off that set for 48p each and I'm glad I did... they don't look too bad. I think the printing on the transparent is correct though on that R2 Unit isn't it? I'm pretty sure there's a unit coming out with that same transparent head... or it's already out.
  19. It's actually a hairpiece which has been cutdown. It's the mermaid hair from the POTC range.
  20. That was the Elephant set I saw... just couldn't find it when searching again. The only thing I can see that may be worth picking up in that set is Vision's head if he has a yellow stone on it. After that it's all pretty pointless. Maybe if they're available as single figures I might pick that one up.
  21. I did see some new Elephant sets on AE while I was having a look round but I'm not sure if they were military. I'll need to take another look. The copying is something that will always happen as long as they're cloning existing Lego product. It's why I don't believe Dargo cancelled their wave simply because someone else had done it.
  22. Doomsday should be a bigfig so I can't see him being an SDCC figure. As a Batman fan I fear what the SDCC DC exclusive might be next year.
  23. Hasbro are contracted to sell Star Wars figures so Lego can't just sell figures as they can apparently fall under the same umbrella and therefore are not allowed. That's why we get figures as part of a set, which is allowed.
  24. I hope so. I know it can be a sensitive subject... especially on a Lego forum. I think it's incorrect to refer to all other brands other than Lego as clone brands. Companies such as Mega-bloks and Kreo aren't clone brands... they're competitors. There are also many other brands who produce brick built kits that may have some similarity to Lego but don't copy their products, they're not clone brands either. There are many people on this forum who have an interest in brands other than Lego... and as has been reported on here and other sites there are companies that have produced sets that are comparable to Lego in quality of both design and build. The mention of a smaller company in a previous post being sold in a US retailer isn't that difficult to imagine as they've simply been added to a distribution list and has been shipped out... probably as a small, budget product. The Decool, SY etc of this world aren't being circulated to high street stores in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australasia etc so that's not their primary audience. Yes, they exist and yes there are complete copies of Lego product. It's a slightly different situation to the counterfeiting of products such as Apple, Rolex and other exclusive brands in the east as nothing is ever sold branded as Lego. It's worth noting though that Asia is Lego's largest growing market and yet is the area that these clone brand products may also occupy some shelf space with actual Lego product. It's not too hard to imagine that there are people at Lego who have monitored the existence of these clone brand products in these markets and might be making the decision that they actually offer an opportunity for some people to purchase larger sets that would normally be out of their budget with a view to them moving over to the aspirational brand that is Lego. Lego has a much better product with a higher quality finish, design and plastic. EB keeps all discussion of non-Lego brands in Community and also limits certain threads to not being included in overall post count. Hopefully discussion of such things acts as a way to educate people on the existence of these brands over any need to be vitriolic on either side.
  25. I personally don't think normal discussion is possible.
