  1. £5.67 for a set on Ali at the moment... 70p per figure/horse. Now if they'd made the figure in the bottom left the Bilbo from the first Hobbit BluRay then it would be more interesting but as I already have all of the actual Lego figures then no interest here. Maybe the Orc army builders might be interested. Thinking about it this is a LOTR range rather than the Hobbit so maybe I'm asking too much there. Even if they'd done Ring Wraiths it would have been worth it! I'd have bought a set with Eight in to go with the three I already have! I hope this is maybe just the start of a Hobbit/LOTR line for them. Lele have been expanding their Hobbit/LOTR range and have Eagles with every figure in a new wave I think to go with their Goblin King.
  2. I've made around 10 BL orders in the last couple of weeks! I tend to put the items I want in the basket then add some other things that I can sell at a profit to make up the cost. Pieces to make Rahm Kota custom = £6... sell for £12 on eBay! Whenever I have to order from Helge in Norway there's a £30 minimum order... I make sure I've got everything covered there!
  3. In the UK an out-house is another name for an outside toilet! :) This MOC deserves a much better description! ;) I really like it when a MOC can get the right atmosphere even when relatively small. As others have said you've captured a little part of Mos Eisley here. Nicely done!
  4. On another matter... I've actually just had a message form someone I made an order from on AE after I asked when my order would be sent and they've not received their GOTG figures yet so they're splitting my order and sending other items out. So it seems even the AE sellers are still waiting for most of them to arrive from the Taobao wholesalers!
  5. I really like them both but the Snowspeeder is really working for me. You've managed to get the shape spot on even at this small scale and the miniature main power generator in the scenery is fantastic!
  6. I've got 7657 and 8038... at first I preferred the 7657 version but I think that was down to how sturdy the legs were and the general solidity of it. 8038 is probably the most accurate shape though... but it's part of a larger set. I'm actually about to sell my 7657 but I'll PM you if interested rather than discuss it in the thread.
  7. Not sure why that would be listed as Sand Blue... Sand Blue is the colour of J Jonah Jameson's suit and pants in the Daily Bugle set... and it's far too light. Bizarro has standard blue torso, arms and legs. I think the hips are actually dark purple which is the same colour as Stan Shunpike / Joker. I think if you went with purple and sand blue you'd have one that looked like it had been left in strong sunlight for quite a while. They got the hair and hand colour right though. ;)
  8. It does seem to work. I was wondering if there was any other legs that could be used just to change it up a bit... can't think off the top of my head.
  9. Ha! Don't you dare!... You just keep your figures as good as they are! As simple as the print of this fig may be the design is just right. Lego type detailing where it counts and the facial features emulate Lego enough too... that's what makes it work. They could have added a light blue colour in there too but it probably didn't need it and as such it keeps the price down.
  10. 75055 wins for me as it doesn't have a 160ft tall Grand Moff Tarkin making the entire bridge look like a broom cupboard. As other people have said on this set... size isn't everything and the new version looks more accurate even at a smaller scale and has better minifigures. 6211 was a fantastic set also but certain scaling issues have always been there for me.
  11. Shiny chrome so if you've got flat silver then it may not be right for it. Like you said... getting another FF set and flogging everything else for £1 each will get you at least the Silver Surfer for next to nothing. I'm tempted to get the figure and use the left arm for Winter Soldier and maybe use the head for a Cobra Commander custom.
  12. Jango... You're after a metallic right arm? There's a chrome minifigure for £5 including shipping on eBay... and I need a Chrome left arm. We could split it?
  13. Mine arrived this morning! I'll try and get it photographed for you and upload. I've not got the flat top hairpiece though... hang on... Yes I have... on Goyle... although it's brown.
  14. The Eclipsegrafx Rogue is an amazing figure. One of the best custom figures I've seen. Wish I'd bought one when I had the chance! Both SY and Decool have copied the EG Cyclops already. If Eclipse aren't going to reprint them then I hope that SY come and do a version. Beast, Nightcrawler and Colossus would be on my list too.
  15. Currently those will run you to around €280 or so without shipping from the US. Complete but not in boxes. Probably around the €320-€330 with shipping included. So I'd say it would depend on just how incomplete they were.
  16. Yeah... I was on a fast day yesterday (The Mrs has got us on the 5-2 diet even though we go the gym!)... I'll feel better after lunch! I'll still always call them Marathon though... can never bring myself to call them Snickers.
  17. Oh stop your moaning all of you!! Just get yourself the Phoenix Customs figure!!... By far the best Gambit there is. We're all getting spoiled by these bootlegs and getting put off by figures that cost more than £1 or £2 each! In all seriousness (and I WAS being serious by the Phoenix Customs version... if there's anyway you can save your pennies for it just get it)... I think SY and Decool are determined to improve the quality of their product... and they've been doing this for around 2 years?... Maybe a little longer? and they've already made big strides in their product now to how it was when they started. Decool's recent printing on the 9 piece Iron Man set was a vast improvement over their earlier releases... I replaced a couple of SY suits with versions from there... and that's something I'd never normally do. SY, at least for SuperHeroes, is getting VERY consistent with print quality... as well as design. Their SWAT was also pretty decent in the torso prints and the accessories were excellent. Their SW stuff is still a little way off but I'm sure they'll get there. I know some people really don't like bootlegs... and to be honest those people would probably puke if they read through this thread. I for one am not sold on the idea of bootlegging whole sets... I think they're actually crossing a line there... yes that may be double standards from me as I've bought many of these figures but Lego don't do figure ranges or packs... so I'm not looking to pick up any of the full sets that are coming out. I'll still support Lego when it comes to this. What I am hoping that happens (SY in particular) is ranges of figures that are unique... not done by Lego at all. I've spent quite a bit buying custom pad printed figures from various people (Christo, Phoenix, NACM etc) and the quality is absolutely spot on as you would expect... and I want to continue to support these customisers... printing figures in small quantities is expensive... these people aren't ripping anyone off with prices around $25-$30 each... that's what it costs to print these figures and make a little profit to make it worthwhile. Unless you're printing in the 1000s to bring the unit cost down it's not an easy game to get a foothold in. I hope the bootleggers give us an option when it comes to these figures... and not just copy them from Flickr accounts or straight from resellers websites... there are many more figures that appear in games (the source for so many customisers) that haven't been done by anyone and SY and Decool would actually get some serious props for putting those out. Pyro is one for a start... that Human Torch looks fantastic... and NOT a copy of someone else's work. FF have been done by CustomBricks and Muddy River but someone pointed out that they're simply copied from Lego's game designs so they're actually fair game when it comes to putting out a product. In the Flickr community there were people who were so adamantly against bootleggers but I know have since picked up Bigfig Things etc... If they put out good product then people HAVE to consider them. So I hope SY and Decool (but more SY) are reading these threads... I hope that someone is gauging reaction to product and looking at what they can put out. If they keep copying Lego's own stuff then I think it'll be in danger of going stale but there's so much scope for things for them to release that Lego fans actually want. That was a longer post than anticipated. I'm going for a lie down.
  18. Third post and you go and land something like that!! ;) It's absolutely beautiful... the details are incredible... without trying to be too fiddly and the mixture of old grey and bluish grey really works on this. There's definitely a sense that this place is alive and being used. Just an excellent MOC!
  19. Why would the UCS TIE be minifig scaled? The 9492 system scale one is basically minifig scaled as is the 9493 X-Wing... the UCS TIE should be a similar scale to the Red Five UCS X-Wing so will sit nicely next to it. I didn't bother to get the UCS B-Wing but that was also a similar scale to the UCS Red Five. Different staff at different stores know different amounts of information... whether they share that is up to them. I chat regularly with staff about upcoming sets and they've dropped hints at stuff over time... Either late last year or earlier this year there was mention of a Falcon which I mentioned on the board at the time... although it can be taken with a pinch of salt. Some of them view forums to find out what's happening the same as us.
  20. Whenever SY do a set that Decool has done I pick it up as invariably it's better quality. I've got my fingers crossed this set is the same. For some reason I'm expecting the blue plastic colour to be slightly off though... Besides... the Human Torch, Thing and Pyro figures look like making this set worthwhile anyway... then there's the more accurate hair for Reed Richards, Silver Surfer and a nice Dr Doom figure (I have the Lego one but I might strip this one for parts or at least sell it on eBay)
  21. I think your MOC sums up my feelings on the Rebels TV series and the sets in general. After watching the first couple of episodes I've been enjoying it.. and I like that the Ghost is like a home to them... it certainly has a real feel of the OT but the set that was released just didn't work for me at all. This MOC does. I know there's a clamour for large sets and TLG has been making smaller versions of some large sets such as the AT-AT and Star Destroyer (both of which I think are excellent) but the Ghost just doesn't work for me in the scale Lego released it. The Ghost needs to have that area below it and with the scale of the Lego version it looked too clunky... this shows that with a larger ship that area can have a play feature and still look in proportion meaning the ship doesn't look like a flying brick. Really nicely done!
  22. I've for to agree with the above... although the smaller might be the more scale accurate to the Minirig the transporter version is a much better model. Maybe when I've got all these custom figures and everything else out of the way I can put a big BrickLink order in and make some of these!
  23. Bard the Bowman from the Hobbit range.. then just brasso off his sideburns and the bottom part of his goatee and it's a very good likeness.
  24. I must admit I can't see anything on those torsos that would make me want to keep them. The printing and design looks pretty terrible across the board. In fact the more I look at them the less I think the Quicksilver hair and Daredevil mask are worth picking up!
