  1. SY have had the Magneto helmet for a while and have a Magneto figure in their current wave. Wolverine's helmet is pretty bad but I don't think that'll stop them. The lightening piece is an easy piece for them to make so I think they'd be able to put out a full set if they wanted to.
  2. I wouldn't worry... Nightwing's face design was pretty iffy on that set! ;)
  3. I just ordered it from US Amazon to the UK and it arrived in around 5 days. I think the DVD is region free anyway.
  4. Yeah... I know what you mean but Lego is, and should be, about the brick. We know there are a lot of minifigure fans out there and people who will only collect those but I still think they need to include figures in set rather than just sell figure packs. With regards to sets I used to sell the sets on but now I get sets that I want and only really pick up figures on BL or eBay where I think the set cost is too much for the figures. My loft has most of the sets Ive bought in their boxes and I just display certain sets down to space issues. I've got UCS X-Wing, UCS Slave 1, Ewok Village, UCS Tumbler, TIE Fighter, Millennium Falcon, AT-AT and some small vehicles on a book shelf and larger shelves in my office room. All of my LOTR/Hobbit/HP/DC & Marvel and the rest of my SW sets are stored away. I don't normally split sets into bricks for use and I like to keep them together. I have clear plastic storage trays that I keep my minifigures in and I'm not remotely worried about mixing bootleg with genuine Lego and custom pad printed.
  5. I think that's the issue though. From what I can gauge they're not allowed to sell licensed figures separately as they'd be considered action figures and the license they hold doesn't permit that as there are companies that hold specific licenses for action figures. I think that's why they had to stop the magnet sets on the bricks and the magnets are now screwed onto the figure with a metal pin.
  6. Either way as soon as I get the Jokerland set that Harley is getting the roller skates and some painted pigtails to complete the look. Spray paint and masking tape at the ready!
  7. I've made around 5 orders in the last month and all have been fine. I'm running Safari on a Mac.
  8. Looking at the upcoming set wouldn't Hawkeye's slick back hair be closer?
  9. I think for those of us in the UK the WS polybag is available throughout March with the Helicarrier and not just for VIPs in February. The box on the site about unlocking future VIP offers is odd... I don't think they've ever limited those offers only to VIPs who've purchased the previous exclusive.
  10. My reply to the store guy was exactly that... If it's just as a promo to that set then why not include it IN the set? I know the Liverpool store got a LOT of Helicarriers in stock... They didn't say exactly how many just emphasised that they had a lot. Whether they're using WS as they think the UK is an iffy market for the carrier I'm not sure. The UK is normally pretty good for Lego promo polybags... Not so much third party promos such as TRU (we're actually shockingly bad at those) but those direct from Lego are normally fine... So to dangle a carrot like this seems odd. It wouldn't surprise me to find him back in June but it also wouldn't totally surprise me if we suddenly got the Electro bag in June as the store worker was under the impression it was indeed a different figure for the regular in store promo.
  11. Helicarrier bought. Set and figures separated and set sold and Winter Soldier and VIP points accumulated. I know they very well may release him regularly in June but on the off chance they didn't do it in the UK it'll get expensive to pick one up so better safe than sorry.
  12. Ive actually used a Zippo lighter before now on things which has been sat on a flat surface and I've moved the plastic to varying heights above it to loosen things up. I used to collect miniature football (soccer for you North Americans) figures around 15 years or so ago and the moulding on those sometimes meant the base and legs could be a little off so they stood slightly strange... I just used the zippo method to loosen things up enough to straighten the stance. Perish the thought now though!
  13. I only paid £4 for the Dark Side book which is easily what I would have paid for the figure so I didn't really worry about the content of that book. As a minifig guide I'm looking forward to this book anyway but to have this figure is a great bonus. I think I'll be contacting Eastonhome on eBay to get them to cut me a Fett cloak in white!
  14. I've heard that if you touch any type of Chinese plastic the universe will fold in on itself. It's been written that bootleg Lego figures are to blame for the bad AIDS, Keanu Reeve's English accent and the zombie apocalypse.
  15. Ha... it's british slang. Based on a slang name for a girl... or at least one who can appear slutty. He just strikes me as someone who has all the gear and no idea... when it comes to the actual fight he's a bit of a big girls blouse! ;)
  16. I almost ordered Arealight parts to make one of these a couple of days ago but with postage, it would have cost me most of the price of the book! Great figure. I'm really happy with this choice.
  17. I think the thing that puts me off him is Kanan didn't finish his Jedi training and it seems that it's his training of Ezra that's brought him closer to the Force but he's still able to escape from the Inquisitor even while he has a squad or two of Stormtroopers with him. I think after tales of Vader destroying a room full of full Jedi Knights during his purge after Order 66 (written fiction not part of EpIII) It just makes me look at the Inquisitor as someone quite weak and I wonder why he'd be trusted to search out Rebel Cells and Jedis during these times when he's actually a bit of a tart.
  18. Yeah... he looks good... and he wields a sabre... so we kind of get drawn to him as a character but he did seem as inept as Kallus and everyone else on Lothal. As soon as Tarkin shows up he gets all badas*.
  19. Which polybags? Not sure if there's still a Netto near me in Liverpool.
  20. Ha... I know. I really hope it isn't... and your logic is pretty good in what kind of set it should be in. Batman 66 is a pretty good and well reviewed comic so I can see where the 66 Batmobile influence came from. With the figures from the SDCC bat mobile being those included in the Juniors Batcave we can assume that was kind of considered a '66 set (for arguments sake). With that in mind it would make sense for a Newmar Catwoman to be included in a Juniors set. If I wanted to think of a new character they could include in that set so it was maybe 2 baddies against Batman then King Tut might come to mind... he's the main villain in the second trade paperback of the 66 series... He would be a camp enough villain that he wouldn't really fit anywhere else either and they've certainly got enough Egyptian style moulds for him to work without creating anything new. This may turn out to be nothing more than just wishful thinking but you never know.
  21. My DVD arrived today from the U.S. Amazon today so Batzarro is safely in my possession. I must admit the prospect of which figure will make it to the 'event which must not be named' is a worrying one... Especially as we've had a wider range of characters over the last wave or so. I'm worried the Julie Newmar Catwoman will be chosen. At least our 'Chinese cousins who shall not be named' will bootleg the figures within a month of the event!
  22. I just popped in to my local Lego store in Liverpool to have a look at the Helicarrier and the guy I spoke to seems to think Winter Soldier will ONLY be sold with the Helicarrier. He was under the impression that there is a different promo figure for other sales. Now I'm not saying this is fact but that was his impression of things and to be honest he wasn't that impressed with the the idea that it was just a carrot to dangle for the HC. He also thought the HC was £70 overpriced and should have been £199. The HC wasn't on my shopping list so I'd be disappointed if it was being kept solely for those who buy the HC rather than being the regular promo giveaway figure. I have to say the carrier was no more or less impressive in real life. Just what I expected it to look like really. It definitely didn't make me sit up and say 'Wow... I've got to have this!'. It's not something that strikes me as being worth the price of two Slave 1s.
  23. It seems like these sellers run a risk in listing things early to attract buyers first... They then have to list things as shipped early to avoid the order being cancelled then they have to actually ship to avoid a dispute... This then gets them in this situation of having to ship things twice! They buy so low that I'm sure it's not affecting their margins too much!
  24. I was looking through the Tesco site last night and they had the Arctic Base Camp set at £48 rather than £69.99. I actually really like the look of the Arctic range.
  25. I must admit... seeing that SHIELD agent makes me glad I picked up the flesh head with eyepatch from Citizen Brick because that looks like it'll make a very nice classic Nick Fury.
