Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
They look more like various customs pieced together although the iceman looks interesting... In fact the Rogue looks painted. MH80's Iceman is still a fantastic figure though and the frosted ABS he uses for that and Human Torch is unique! -

Jean looks excellent there... Magneto and Black Bolt look pretty good too. It'll be nice to add Jean and DOFP Magneto to the mutant ranks. -

Yep... Even Lego. They've printed on heads that were the completely wrong colour! -

With Digger having it they must be getting shipped already by the wholesalers so they can't be far away! I'm just waiting for them and the Flash wave to land before placing an order. -

I've just managed to hit a wifi spot and watch Digger's review of the Duo set and I'll be picking one up even if just for the silver Mjjolnir! They look decent and for around 80p each or so they're worth picking up I think. -

I've thought that for a while actually. SY also seem to make very simple yet obvious changes to the design of their SDCC figures that means they can't be easily passed off as originals. There doesn't seem to be any other reason for them to make these changes. -

Nice to see some good images of the new sets... And nice to see them actually released. It's almost getting like Lego now with leaked packaging shots etc. I think that Thor helmet looks great and for me is probably worth the cost of the set... On a side note I think the comment regarding Agoodfella's version was actually down to language and was lost in translation... I don't think offence was meant, at least I hope not anyway. I think that Dr Strange would benefit from using a Nizam head from the P.O.P. line although I like how they've done the robe print on the legs and not just copied the MRM figure. I don't think an upside down head means that DLP are SY... Printing mistakes can happen anywhere and even Lego have made them... I can't watch videos at the moment due to poor internet where I am but I'd say the mould shape would say more about whether SY are sharing their presses or have even sold some old moulds on. SY have improved their moulds more than once and still seem to use different moulds for different waves. All figure waves have thick shoulders while the figures in the vehicle packs have more accurate slim shoulders to match Lego... I just wonder why they have different moulds and whether these are at different factories or at least at another part of the same factory... Maybe where they handle the brick production to keep those sets together? Each bootlegger has their own particular moulds... Decool have their shoulder and hip differences, Doll have very thin shoulders and their torsos are a little loose on the legs (but the legs are very good)... At least on their military wave... Etc... Nobody's moulds are identical but the DLP and SY do look very similar. I also actually think that Decool are far inferior to SY in mould, quality of plastic and quality of print... It's really only bigfigs I look forward to from them. Having the same moulds/plastic/printing machines is a good thing... I'm more inclined to think DLP are a new company that somehow share SY's machines rather than just SY repackaging their own figures with very slight variations in a whole wave (glowing Mjjolnir or chrome Mjjolnir). If they've handled the designs right then the upcoming SY Flash wave could be spectacular. Time to get some genuine Lego arms to complete them though! This was typed on my phone so excuse any typos! ;) -
^ I thought exactly the same thing! In Australia try Myers as they have 20% off all Lego at the moment and I've seen lots of Black Manta sets there.

Obsolutely! ;) There's so many good waves at the moment I just want to make sure I get everything ordered at once! -

Can anyone think of any yellow legs with red boots we can use for that was Reverse Flash? Or maybe even black legs with red boots for Black Flash? -

It looks like SY will have a sentinel available soon and I'd probably trust their plastic quality more although I've never kept any of the knock off bricks I've got with any of the sets. -

I'm just trying to recap in the recent / upcoming releases to make an order when I get back from my holiday... SY wave with Dr Strange etc, SY AOU Wave 1 with Nick Fury, SY vehicle set with Blackbolt, SY Flash wave, possibly D brand AOU set for a chrome Mjjolnir, D brand Iron Man wave... Possibly another SY vehicle wave with SDCC Bats for another member... Have I missed anything? -

Wide shoulders and the general quality make them look like very early SY! -

Well we have a brand name of Duo Le Pin on those sets so it's pretty safe to assume they're a clone of a clone... My expectation levels for the Iron Man wave just dropped. The close up is a clone of the SDCC Spidey but with none of the texture design on it and zooming into the Carnage figure makes it look a bit iffy with some blue elements to the design. -
Ha! I see we share the same taste in women!! ;)

Well it looks like Digger has this set so we'll find out soon enough... Lets just hope they're good quality so those Iron Man figs will be good... Jesus... I'm really not sure how many different suits I'll end up with... And I haven't even bothered with the Elephant waves. -

If that's SY's new brand mark then that new Iron Man wave is also SY! The wave matches the figures in this SY but the packaging etc is completely different... Hopefully we'll have things cleared up soon... -

Well that didn't take long. We have Nick Fury from the Helicarrier which will be welcome to some. That Ultron looks like it's got a completely new head as opposed to a complete clone of a Lego version. The glowing Mjjolnir is also a nice addition to the helmet in the other wave. I'm also interested to see if the Hulk has a moveable head like the other SY version. Well that didn't take long. We have Nick Fury from the Helicarrier which will be welcome to some. Seriously? On an entire forum of people with a percentage of close to zero with profile pics of actual people I think we can safely assume that this hobby (and that's all it is) is a part of our lives that has differing levels of importance but for the most part is replaceable. My avatar and presence on this forum represents the part of my life that I give to (one of) my hobbies... They pale into comparison with my wife, daughter, house and my business. There is no bubble to burst... This forum isn't the last bastion of hope for the eternally lonely. If the op wants to fly out to Italy be my guest... Anything short of the person being real and actually 'falling for' the op in return will be a huge waste of time, money and dignity... Hell... He should give it a go... Report back and regale us with tales of Hollywood romance and serendipity... I'll gladly buy them a wedding gift if my cynicism is proved fatally wrong... I think my money is safe though. In fact... I think he should sell everything he owns, other than his Lego of course, to fly in business class and look as fresh as possible... What could possibly go wrong? What price would you put on true love anyway?

Alternatively you can take a long look in the mirror, stop acting like a child and re-enter the real world. If I could add a face palm emoticon on my phone I would. God, I hope this thread is either a joke or you at least have some real friends who can hit you with something.

Digger318 has reviewed the POTC bootlegs on his YT account but I'm working off the worst 3G signal on my phone and can't load it... Can anyone tell me what quality they are? -

I actually like those! They're a little more Minimates or Kubrick in appearance but the Catwoman is really nice!
