  1. That Revan does look really good. Scarily close to the actual one. I seriously doubt whether you'd be able to tell them apart if you swapped out the arms and hood for official Lego.
  2. Ha!... Don't worry!.. It's Burscough Giant Car Boot sale in the North West around 15 miles outside of Liverpool. I saw him there once and he had a few of them... went a couple of weeks later and his stall was full... even with bigfigs etc. He actually had some official figures but only to sell the SY single mini figure cases... He actually had an original Bane in there and I'd hoped he hadn't noticed but he laughed when i offered him £2 for it... told him it was worth a try! I might actually pop up there when things warm up and see if he has any of the new SY wave so I can get a good Daredevil head to replace the misprint one I got... especially if they're still only £2 per figure. Easier than ordering a full set and waiting 3 weeks for them even if they're only £6 for a set.
  3. There's a guy who regularly has a stall at car boot sales near me and it's almost exclusively bootleg figures. He sells them at around £2 each.
  4. I'm actually disappointed that this thread is the go to thread for all bootleg material. I think this thread started out as a source for info regarding non-Lego produced figures and whether the quality was any good... and since then we've seen a big rise in the quality of some manufacturers and an increase in the amount of small (and basically rubbish) bootleg companies... but just seeing the piles of clone sets that are shown in the images above are quite disheartening I think. Maybe I'm being wholly hypocritical here but I've always said I'm interested in those items that are not produced by Lego or those items that are distributed unevenly and then made prohibitively expensive (I'm looking at you SDCC scalpers) but all of the sets in the images above are just general retail sets and will obviously be of inferior quality to Lego. I can actually see where they would have their place in their native market, one that caters for those people that would like Lego but are unable to afford it... especially if the costs are kept very low (Hell... even Barcelona kits are available at many outlets across Barcelona that are available far below the official Nike versions - £10 as opposed to £70) but we're talking about a Lego forum here... I just don't see why people would want to bulk buy a whole load of fake Chima or Friends. I'll get back in my box now... It's just that I've never really understood the refusal for people to even consider bootleg figures of things that Lego haven't made, and will probably never make, as a way of building their collection but the images of shelves full of fake retail products does make me realise why they won't consider them.
  5. I think that Advent Calendar looks really good. Micro builds are always a little bit hit and miss... most of these look good through. Nice to get another Jawa and a droid to add to the Sandcrawler. New Hoth Rebel Trooper looks nice so I'm sure that's a precursor to the possible Hoth set. Stormtrooper and a new Ewok are very welcome additions too. I like the variation of C3PO and the silver domed R2 is also quite nice although I'm sure most of us already have him but he was first in the Ewok Village set so nice to get that as it's normally been in very expensive sets. Weapons racks are also something I'm not too against getting as they supplement the need for weapons in the BPs while they have the stud shooters.
  6. He's definitely sitting down in the pod but it kind of looks like his leg length is 2 studs which would make him normal minifig height. I'd have thought he'd be smaller but you never know... the bendable short legs have been around for a while from their party manufacturers and they're just a bit taller than regular small legs... it'd be an interesting choice for Lego to start using them.
  7. I think that's the Arkham Penguin isn't it? You didn't mean the one from the Penguin Face Off set with the fur collar did you?
  8. Yeah... I'm not as against the action figure style sets although I won't be picking any up... they're just not my thing. I think I'll be getting a couple of the Advent Calendar's this year for the Stormtrooper, Hoth Trooper, Jawa and Ewok figures.. the printed Legs for C-3PO are also useful.... that tiny Sarlaac and Sail Barge look great for a micro set!
  9. Yeah... nice design on the Grayson New 52 and the Simpson's style arm moulding for Robin in the Jokerland looks great. Thinking more about it I think that Poison Ivy design has been pretty much spot on for a while... That could have gone with the same design but printed on a dark green or black body over a Lime Green which would have been closer to the New 52 variant
  10. Iron Spider has 2 colour printing at least... Dark Red for the muscle definition on the torso with the Gold printed over it. Technically there may have been need to print a white also as a base layer for the Gold but it depends how opaque the Gold ink is that Lego uses. I'm glad I wasn't the only that thought they may be decals or stickers on things... it definitely doesn't look altogether pin sharp on some figures.
  11. So we're getting regular a Stormtrooper in the calendar? Maybe that will put an end to the constant moaning? I like the new Ewok too! Actually... looking at that again I can't see if they're definitely from the calendar? It's on a shelf with the calendar items... hopefully we get a clearer shot of things. Nice new printing on the Hoth Rebel Trooper too. That Tydirium look fantastic... can't wait to see close ups of Han and Leia from that. The Emperor from the Final Duel set looks like the one from the book and the Luke seems to be the version from the Ewok Village set. If Vader is the same print as the ISD set that that only leaves the helmet mould as new? Actually... looking at it again, Luke is a new print on his torso... His lapel area isn't folded down. Vader's print also seems to be very slightly different from the 75055 variant.
  12. The oversized Lego bricks are just made from regular Lego pieces so there's no new moulds there but I think they look good. All the Antman figures look great and I think the giant insect looks fine. The choice of adding a yellow figure to a licensed set seems really odd to me although maybe that's their new thing with civilians. Green Goblin actually looks really good and I'll just add a 10p brown satchel to a Bricklink order the next time I make one. Iron Spider looks really good with those extended arms so it's nice to see some Spidey variants without going to expensive Pad Print customisers. Interested to see if the regular Spidey has any difference to the torso now that he's been given boot mould.
  13. Well the legs and torso are different from the recent Harley... I think it's just the hat that makes her look too much like the existing one. The white arms with different coloured gloves as well as the torso design are still looking like the cover of Harley Quinn #1... it's just the headpiece. Harley's faceprint is new also as I've just seen a clearer shot. I can't believe they'd change the leg, torso and face print and have a perfect hairpiece for her and not use it. Steelrift Customs on Flickr has images of various sets you can view: https://www.flickr.c...os/51576514@N04 Scarillian has also put together a image library (that he seems to be constantly updating) of a lot of shots from the NYTF here : http://imgur.com/a/l7ZHI
  14. Images are starting to appear on Flickr accounts as we speak. I think that set looks much more like a $120 set than we originally thought but I agree it's a shame that Joker, Ivy and Penguin are old designs and the Bats figure is the same as the recent wave but we expected that. I'm surprised that Harley's headpiece is the Jester's Hat but maybe there's a change of hair in the set... if not I'll be picking up the zombie cheerleader to make that change myself. The Batboat in the Deathstroke set looks good... very substantial... Deathstroke looks like it's a printed head rather than a helmet.
  15. Just register... search for the item you want then where there's a link to a store and a button saying 'Go Buy It' click on that and it'll take you to that item listing in the store you've chosen. Simply put a '1' in the 'Add To Cart' window and either hit return or click on the 'Add selected items to shopping cart' button at the bottom of the screen. Then go to your cart and select 'Checkout'... you'll then get a screen to make a few selection as to how you'd like to pay and what currency etc... then once they're all selected just confirm the order and voila!
  16. That Darth Revan actually looks pretty good. I'm surprised this one is still under some people's radar. Get an official hood and black cape on there along with genuine black arms and dark red hands and it wouldn't be easy to split it from a real one. Funny how the CGI image on the front of the box shows a CW style Obi Wan and yet they've included the proper version inside the box.
  17. The 4 pack must have been a European thing then because the only sellers on BL with them are in mainland Europe: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=66493-1 If I were you then I'd go for the price above his... it's cheaper and he has over 1000 feedback and has been a seller for 9 years. He's also never had any negative feedback although I'm not sure if he ships to the US as it only shows me whether someone ships to the UK.
  18. He's been a member for nearly 4 years and has completed 375 orders as a seller with 99.5% positive feedback. I'd say he looks like a good seller. What seems odd about the price? He's not the cheapest on BL for that item and he's certainly not the most expensive. You can also normally pay people with PayPal so you'll have their cover if you need it.
  19. Same here. I really like them. Now I've switched out all the arms for proper Lego ones I think they look great. Phoenix is now perfect with the old Decool double sided head and official Lego red hair. Green Arrow is also perfect and I much prefer the brown straps to the black on the SDCC figure (I know I've said that before but I'm actually really impressed by the quality of the print on that figure. I've used the head from an Onlinesailin custom I bought a long time ago on it and it's bang on. Galactus is fantastic. My Antman had Loki's head on it but now has this piece. Beast also has excellent print and looks much better in the flesh over the CGI rendition on the listings. LB2 Cyborg is very well done (I've sprayed the helmet up to remove the grey underparts that are visible). Comic Hawkeye is also really well done with the only gripe being the bottom part of the facemask part could have been a little thinner to show the mouth area more.
  20. Same here! First part of my order arrived today with Cyborg, Hawkman, Scuba Robin and Green Arrow (Full hood rather than folded down). There was also the uniform from the Imperial officer in the AT-DP and I had Kanan Jarrus's head and hair also. After than I went back and made another larger order which had Sabine Wren, Imperial AT-DP Pilot, Inquisitor, Some Green Lantern mini figure parts and a few others. I'm very much keeping my fingers crossed that Maria Hill's torso is included in the B&P as well as Nick Fury. Boba Fett's torso from the Slave 1 UCS is available so there's no reason why not.
  21. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a 4k camera if it starts to push the budget up too much. Using white has the advantage of helping to circulate light better... and that's normally the biggest problem in making videos. Get some half decent lighting... donut's have to cost too much but something that casts a decent light. There are plenty on eBay that can be bought for less than £50 which are on stands. The better lighting means the camera doesn't have to work as hard on the image and reduces the chance of noise artifacts on the image... you can also film at a lower ISO with better natural light. Another things you could do it pick up a microphone... even a wired one can be bought really cheap... something discreet so it isolates the sound... the only problem you'll have with wearing a mic is the Chewie costume rubbing on it or intefering with it in some way. I think you should try and set up some kind of intro screen to your videos that you can use on them all rather than going straight into the clip of standing there with the kit... maybe look at using some still photos of the box etc that you can cut away to so you don't need to do everything in a single take... it'll then allow you to break up your segments to help polish things up. Just my twopenneth! ;)
  22. Yeah... That'll be an advance set sent out for review. The benefits of being a Lego online reviewer! ;)
  23. I hope we see something so people have something of relevance to talk about. I'm not sure why people need a thread to 'keep going' when news is quiet. The thread is pinned so it's not going anywhere. With regards to the Electro polybag I just hope that there's some kind of mass release or structure of some kind to it's release. I'm quite happy to order from the US if the pricing isn't too iffy but the complete lack of distribution in the UK gets frustrating. Do we think the NYTF will have any kind of preview for the Spidey related sets? Maybe some news about whether the SHIELD agent is Coulson rather than something generic even if there isn't anything physical there?
  24. I'd probably put myself in that category although I'm not remotely familiar with most of the bands listed in the first post. My first gig was the 1988 Donington Monsters of Rock so I made sure I went a couple of years ago as it was the 25th Anniversary and Maiden has it as part of their Maiden England Tour. I've seen quite a lot of rock and metal bands over the years although Iron Maiden are probably still my favourite 'metal' band. Foo Fighters are someone I've seen around 7 times now. I also like finding new stuff (new to me that is) so I've been listening to Orange Goblin over the last couple of years along with Mastodon and a few others I've found. I'm with UrbanErwin with a lot of my likes although I prefer Megadeth to Metallica. My main musical love are Led Zeppelin... whether that can still be considered metal of any kind I'm not sure but they're certainly an influence on most metal bands. I also went to school with Anathema as a piece of trivia... last time I saw them was being jumped on at Radiohead a few years ago although I'm selling a computer to Duncan (former bass player) at the moment and I need to deliver it to Darren (the original singer) who lives near my parents.
