  1. Considering it's now canonical that Wrong Place, Wrong Time insanely messed up the original plot-line, they could easily change a whole bunch of things. But anyway, I really want to see a new ninja team soon. Costume changes are getting noticeably... weaker. What I mean is, while all of the Minifigures we've gotten over the years are very pretty there's been a noticeable decline. I really want to see something like the DX suits again, they were easily my favorites.
  2. I liked the Nuva because they feel like an actual upgrade over the Toa Mata. They look more armored, more covered up, and with clearly better weaponry than their previous forms (although aesthetically this wasn't always the case) they just looked like they had been empowered. Although I suppose the reason why I like the Nuva masks more than the Mata masks is because I saw the Nuva masks before the Mata masks, and more frequently too. That being said, all of the new sets are aesthetically better than the originals IMO. The only one I don't really like is Lewa, and that's only because he uses almost entirely 4M shells. Rea throwback to Brain Attack, and most certainly in a way I don't enjoy.
  3. Hardly. First of all, Zane has always been fully robotic (unless you really want to count Julien's little speech about "a part of him"). Secondly, technically coloration does not matter when it comes to robots. Zane could be pink with purple polka dots and it wouldn't really matter at all. Also, PIXAL has no visible "cybernetic" parts on her, only her circuit... tattoos (whatever those are meant to be). Traditionally Zane has never featured any visibly robotic components in the sets until the NinjaCopter, which is the only set to have featured him in such a way to date. Or in other words, don't get your hopes up on that theory. Zane is a... "Schrodinger's Powder Keg" in terms of usage in the plot, we haven't seen the full capacity of his nature and knowing LEGO they'll dump NINJAGO before we get even close to that kind of thing. Speaking of which, I actually really want them to do a "soft reboot" of NINJAGO soon. It's been enjoyable having the 6 (now 7) ninjas, 2 Sensei's and a Samurai, but I think NINJAGO's running out of steam for where they can turn to with the plot.
  4. I'm not really sure if I like the new Pakari. The sides just look really... open, to me.
  5. Hmm... you could always enter anyway and should you win tell the judges to give X person the prize instead of you?
  6. I'm all for more trans. parts. My latest BFTGM entry is finally nearing completion, and it stopped because I needed certain parts. After that, I didn't have the right parts to give it a secondary weapon, but once I bought Crystal Beast and Rocka Crawler... well, I'm all for more trans. parts
  7. Alright, I've just finished watching the whole thing through. There's a difference in animation and some other things, the Overlord's mech no longer bounces and there's a number of plot holes fixed up (not completely satisfied, there were most definitely better ways of fixing them). Sadly, this is the part that pertains to the "2015" topic: There is no teaser for the next season/sets in it. I know that one version LEGO uploaded had a voiceover in the credits of The Titanium Ninja, but I can't translate that. HOWEVER: There is one thing I will point out, and something that's troubled me since the shoddy Youtube versions came out. Skales, at the end of Episode 34, is using Slithraa/Skales's-original-form's model. It's a peculiar mistake to be made, especially given that this mistake has never been made with any of the major Serpentine characters. So, assuming this isn't some bizarre mistake (because it's a huge mistake to have made, seeing as its never happened with the main villains before) I would guess this means something's happening with the Serpentine.
  8. AMERICA, PREPARE TO BE JELLY! Oh yes, that's right. Volume 2
  9. Dareth is a 2014 set, not a 2015 set. And some people have already gotten him, so I would assume it's out in some parts of the world.
  10. First of all, no it isn't. Second of all, no they couldn't. I'm denying other possibilities because they are so far out-flung from the truth. We have not seen any confirmation, whatsoever, not even a hint that we will see the idea of a corrupted MoCo come to fruition. Maybe at some point in the future, but there is no evidence whatsoever. Also, for the idea that the black mask in the promo artwork is the MoCo, I've done some outlines on the Masks. Not my finest work, and the top-left hand image of the MoCo is rather inaccurate, mainly due to not noticing certain things and MS Paint being hard to work with, just ignore most of that one. The contours on it are way too far out on it as well. The MoCr image is just to provide a reference for how accurate the animations are to their counterparts. The animations aren't super-duper accurate, but they're accurate enough to tell that the black mask and the MoCo are two very different masks. Anyway, glad to see that BZP's review is up. Hoping they'll scan the Instruction pages so that we can better see the artwork, the sort-of-poster with all 6 Toa, the combiner, etc. EDIT: Gah, sorry, didn't notice the MoCr image is low quality, I accidentally saved it as .jpeg and didn't notice until now. I was running out of time to make it at the time, so there's a few errors as well (part of the circle outline is now black, and I forgot to outline the eye holes on the animated version)
  11. No it isn't. And no it doesn't. The MoCo is gold, not black. Why show it in black? The ridges on the black mask do not match up with the ridges on the MoCo, even allowing for artistic license. And I'm sorry, what are you talking about? Your last statement relevant to the MoCo is entirely dependent on the idea that your theory is right. Also, we had a gold and black villain (who heavily used purple CGI effects) this year in NINJAGO. We're not going to get a maskless Makuta, I never stated that. LEGO doesn't release the sets without masks, it would be pointless. What I WAS arguing, was that when we get a Makuta set, if we get a Makuta set, it will have the Mask of Ultimate Power. This mask is the one most associated with Makuta, it is the "ultimate" weapon. Hence why we would see Makuta wearing a MoUP, and hence why we would see a shady MoUP in promotional stuff. It's like how we will likely see Ekimu with the Mask of Control. Also, the "disembodied mask as the main villain" requires speculation. It requires you to have speculated on the hierarchy of villains and adapt accordingly, even though the idea that the MoUP is the main villain goes contrary to what we know. In an article (on Brickjournal, I believe? Internet is slow, sorry.) it states that Makuta is rematerializing. So yes, that requires speculation and no full analysis of what we do know. (just minor nitpicking, sorry) I am basing all of what I have said on fact. I am basing all of what I have said on what we have seen. I have used these facts to construct a theory. My theory does not contradict what we have seen. Yours however, does. We have not seen a corrupted/black MoCo. We have not seen any evidence that the MoCo will be corrupted. And if you are correct, and the Mask of Control is the one in the background is the Mask of Control (which is circular reasoning, might I add. It's the Mask of Control, so therefore it's the Mask of Control) and it is indeed corrupted, why isn't the Mask of Creation corrupted too? There is no basis, no fact, no idea or anything to support that we will get a corrupted Mask of Control. That is the long and the short of it. We may get one eventually, but there is no evidence, whatsoever, to support the idea behind a corrupted Mask of Control. Everything we have seen does not match up with this idea. The Mask of Control is not black, the Mask of Ultimate Power is. And storywise theories (though they are not fact) and tropes indicate that Makuta would go after the Mask of Ultimate Power first. The Mask of Ultimate Power is the one most associated with villainy, and therefore the one to most associate the villain with. Look, I'm tired of arguing the same points over and over with you. When we see the second wave of BIONICLE, we'll know who's right. EDIT: Aanchir, when can we expect this review? Any chance you could describe what the instruction manual background looks like?
  12. The Fold is basically "That NINJAGO band" by now, so that's a no. Finley... eh... I'd rather not. I know some people like Chima, but I never really liked their stuff. Why are people all for lyrics that have a specific relationship to the toy line? I'm tired of hearing "NINJA NINJA NINJA NINJA" in every NINJAGO song... it sounds cheesy to me, and it makes it feel more like product placement than anything else.
  13. The heck are you even talking about now? Did we suddenly swap bodies? "and if they don't show an uncorrupted version" Wait, what? They've never shown a corrupted version in the first place, which is what I've been arguing the entire time. There is no evidence, whatsoever, to support the idea that we will ever get a corrupted version of the Mask of Control. That's the long and the short of it at this point in time. Makuta was not wearing the Mask of Control when he put on the Mask of Ultimate Power, it was not corrupted. Even at the end of the trailer, it is shown in the condition we saw it throughout the trailer. They only used the effect on the MoUP to make it look scary and freaky, like the Overlord Walker in NINJAGO. I have said this before, and I will say it again: The Mask of Ultimate Power is the only known mask to fit the description of the shadowy mask in the background of the promos we've seen. This is a common tactic used to clearly show the villain, we understand that the MoUP is the face of villainy and thus the only one to logically show unless a new mask is revealed. Also, in a court room, if there is no evidence to convict someone of murder, the person will not be jailed or fined. This is the same situation (except no one died). There is no evidence to support the idea that the mask in the promos is a corrupted MoCo, and there IS evidence to support that it's the MoUP. TL;DR: There is no evidence to support the idea that the MoCo was corrupted with Makuta. Anyway, I like that BZP is doing an unboxing, but they probably should have done a mini-review of the box too. edit: good grief how did I miss them looking over it?
  14. People want it to be more complicated because they don't want Ekimu to be Protector-sized. It's incredibly anti-climactic, but with all the current evidence if we do see Ekimu in a set any time soon unless he morphs into a giant robot turns into a Toa, there's nothing to suggest the design would change. To be honest, I don't really care actually what size he is. If we see a Titan that has two characters to fight that isn't comprised of Mechs/scaled down I'm perfectly fine with it. People are just elaborating on what they want the most out of this. My personal opinion: As long as the parts have MOCability I'll be perfectly fine with it. If I can spray paint a MoCr (jk, don't worry ) and use two of them combined with two head pieces and make a functioning bear trap, I'll be okay edit: to clarify, not a real bear trap. EDIT 2: We're not going to see a "corrupted" version of the MoCo. Period. There is no evidence whatsoever to support the idea that masks can be corrupted, and to my knowldege in the old canon you couldn't just go around infecting every Kanohi with Makuta's presence. The little that we have seen of either mask points only, at this point in time, to the MoUP. We never saw the MoCo again in the teaser until the very end (when it's shown just as it had been prior), and the MoUP's smoke is just a special effect designed to make the mask look spooky, and to hide the design until they're ready to unveil it. Furthermore, this mask is the one more associated with Makuta's "evil" form, and it makes a lot more sense to use it like that. Sort of like Baron Typhonus' Maelstrom-infected eyes appearing in LEGO Universe promos everywhere.
  15. ...how does it look like the MoCo? It barely fits the look in the animation, and the MoCo is gold even at the end of the trailer. The MoUP however, was shown to be black throughout the entire thing (bonus points for red eyes)
  16. I doubt we'll see a "pre-corruption" Makuta any time soon. LEGO hasn't done anything like that in recent times, and even some of the more obvious examples (such as the Toa Metru) are from very different situations. That being said, I wouldn't mind getting Makuta like that, seeing as we're probably going to be getting the MoC this year. We're definitely getting MoCr, and we're likely going to get the MoUP too, seeing as how prominent it is in CGI. They've at least got a design for it ready, anyway...
  17. It isn't going to happen. LEGO is done with canisters, even the super-flashy (and incredibly rare) plastic display cases for the Inika. Or at least I assumed those were official, anyway.
  18. And I thought it was old news about Ekimu's gear. Guess I was wrong.
  19. Uh... that knowledge is pretty common now. And unless you're the guy on BZPower that made a topic I can't find now, it probably wasn't you I learned this from.
  20. I've seen pictures of it, and I'm going to buy one soon in two seconds I own one. The reason people have ruled him out as referring to it being a "full mask" is because it was a question regarding the plot, and the Star Trek thing
  21. It was a culmination of a Star Trek comparison and the Vahi being referenced as half a mask. Even you yourself would be curious as to what he meant by "half a mask" when it was never stated anywhere in the old canon that the Vahi was half a mask, whether literally or visually. At the very least, it was a very odd choice of words. Anyway, can we just put this whole affair behind us? DeeVee isn't able to say a word about anything he knows about because of an NDA, and we've barely gotten any story information. The only thing that even relates to the Vahi that we've even seen was a cloud, and even then without the Vahi comment it's a weird reference to have made.
  22. So, I'm the only one who dislikes those masks? They reek of being a quick job done in MS Paint (although the overshot lines are still present), and they were clearly saved in .jpeg format creating the splotchy look of them. There's no depth, either. They just look like 2D images with the TV-like eyes of Spiral Knights. That being said, I would rather unprofessional-looking images than this ^
  23. It looks more like a .jpeg image made in MS paint than anything else to me, the fact that two of the captions are typos doesn't help.
  24. I wasn't aware the debate was getting heated, although text can be hard to translate into emotions. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up DeeVee. I had a feeling you might know more than you're allowed to say, so I probably won't be so argumentative next time
  25. You helped plan the event? In what way does that relate to a word I said? "I helped plan the entire panel" does not equate to "I helped plan the entire new BIONICLE universe". Have you been told by LEGO outside of Comic Con/secret-dealings-with-them the exact nature of the Rep's response? Have you contacted the LEGO Rep that made the Vahi comment to get a clarification on what was said? I'm well aware it's confirmed this is a reboot, no one is arguing it's a continuation of the original plot. The entire Vahi controversy is about ties and links to the old universe. To say that this is a continuation would be foolish, even if there are ties to the old universe there's an absolute tiny chance LEGO would continue work on it, and I couldn't blame Greg if he didn't want to continue the Serials either. If the Rep wasn't even on the BIONICLE team how would he even know about the Vahi itself? You said you helped organize it yourself, so you should be able to answer this question: why was he told of the Vahi being a full mask? Was he just pulling random garbage out of nowhere to try to explain similarities between the old universe and the new one? And if he wasn't, why was the Vahi of enough significance to tell him, yet not of high enough significance and "confidentiality" to not tell him? To be honest, I'm not worried about ties to the old universe at all. I don't even really care about the Vahi at all, the only thing I'm really wanting an answer is why they used Star Trek as a comparison when there were better alternatives like Transformers or even Space Police.
