Wow, those Clones have great printing. I didn't notice the actual detail in their helmet. I've finally realised the scale of those Podracers. I imagine them to cost around the same price as the Frigate, but I think I'll put them above the Frigate for now.

Hmm, strange. Why is there a new spiderweb mould? Kind of redundant, I think, a bit like the automated hammer with the Blacksmith Attack set. Yay, there's a cat (or is it a large mouse?) in the Dragon's Prison set. That's good, as I don't own one.

Oh no, some ninjas are either now DX or not in the sets at all. I may have to get two of Kai DX, because the Mountain Shrine appeals to me somehow. I'm confused as to whether the large samurai helmet on one of the skeletons is actually a separate headpiece or moulded. It looks like part of it, but if it does separate, then that's a bonus. Finally, both the Earth Dragon and the Skull Truck have been boosted in size, from what I originally saw. Both are rather intimidating now, but the price might go up. Edit: We still haven't seen the rumoured Lightning Dragon set. If it does exist, I imagine it will come with DX Jay. Must wait further...

Oh no, the Doctor looks a bit confused. That's an easy fix though. The Earth Defense HQ is really growing on me. It has a really sturdy and "finished" look to it, unlike the Clone Turbo Tank set that was released recently (mainly the wheel connections).

Oh, right! The reflection obscures it a little. I thought the light brick would have been further down... Too bad about the farmer not actually going anywhere once he's abducted. Not that it matters too much to me, but it is fairly strange for aliens to carry people like that. Edit: I really should have watched that video.

Hang on, mummy battle pack as in that one including the sarcophagus? I thought that was exclusive to Lego stores/Shop At Home?

Is it just me, or do I see what looks like a red version of one of those Mars Mission alien pods? Looks like it could house something, but those pods can't fit in minifigures, so I don't know what its purpose is. Where does the person go after being abducted though? Cockpit looks a little cramped... Aren't they meant to be brown? You'd think that, if this was really set far in the future, that farmers wouldn't be using pitchforks.

Good idea. Not so sure about the triangle-barred piece though, but I see your point. Another possibility may be segments for the backplate, thought that might be too much detail. Given the improved quality of minifigure moulds and the like, I could imagine a new backplate/head mould. That might even make me want to have a Droideka.

Are those ears/things new? I didn't know they could do that with existing heads. I'm assuming it's a completely different mould. I don't think Wald is a significant enough character to warrant a new mould, but that's just me... Edit: just checked my Onaconda Farr minifig. The ear things aren't new, but what is? I'm confused.

Well, they probably went for the "big and impressive" look rather than the actual functionality of the set. Think about Star Wars vehicles. Either get a well-designed ship with an interior that has a large parts count and is expensive, or get a smaller piece count for a larger ship without interior, the latter of which is the case for this set. In my opinion, I'd rather not get an interior if it saves pieces. Probably not shared by many others, but that's my thought. This theme is probably going to do well, so a second wave featuring large base sets is possible.

Oh no! There go my... etc. Seriously though, I hope Jay is included. I will go and buy another Skull Motorcycle soon, but I'd still prefer it if he was. I've noticed that a few of the figures have been absent from the displays of some sets, so maybe (hopefully) Jay is another casualty. As for Sensei Wu, it's almost definitely a placeholder, I'd say.

Yeah, maybe the whole group are referred to as "force" while individual squads are "units".

Ooh, lots of nice weapons. It's a shame that I'll have to remove those decorative weapons to improve my army. Does the Mountain Shrine set have a DX Kai? Oh no, plans stuffed again! I can, however, easily substitute for that (and cheaper!), so no problems. Nice to be getting another one of those new swords, though I would have liked one in each set so I can give them to the DX ninjas.

Nice! The larger cars actually look pretty good, but I think I'll pass depending on the size. The mini versions are good enough. There are two sets we haven't yet seen, I believe (excluding the "Ultimate Build" one). I hope they're small ones with good characters. Edit: wait, I think there are three. No wait, still two, I think. The Duplo Cars sets confuse me.

Hmm, the "Lego Champion" game is strange. There's an odd variety of minifigs accompanied by various bricks. I guess it could be a good parts pack, but personally I'm not interested in it. I can't see that nice helmet! Oh noes! I was right about the transparent blue axe heads though, which is good. At least there's a reason to buy the forest set.

Interesting. By the looks of things, I'll just pick up the smallest sets for a couple of the characters. That plane looks pretty good. I expect it could be easily modifiable to a realistic one.

The torsos have changed again, it seems. Looks more realistic now. The tripod looks better, and the minifigs are still great.

Yay! The Forbidden Forest is a small set, as I hoped. And new minifigs! The Knight Bus is pretty cool (it's purple?), and it looks like a nice parts set for purple pieces, of which I'll be needing many in the future. I won't get it, but it is interesting.

Strangely, I kind of want these. I'm not a fan of the series or anything, but they do look fairly small. I wish there were more sets though, I'd like to get the "normal" versions of the minifigs.

I agree completely. I do often wonder why people complain about tiny price increases ($5-$10), but I suppose lots of people do buy the sets for parts, unlike me. It's also annoying that prices aren't relative to those elsewhere, as the Australian dollar was at parity last time I checked. Still, most people would still spend more because of needed pieces, multiples of sets, etc. This might be getting a bit off-topic now. I still will buy the set for the record (if I can scrape up enough after Star Wars hits), because I completely missed previous ninja themes.

Oh no, my elaborate army building plans could be ruined! Normally sets cost around double here, so I really hope that does not mean it would cost $200-something. Maybe the inflation is trying to balance out the ridiculous prices here and in other parts around the globe. I haven't heard of much inflation here so far, with the exception of collectible minifigures and existing inflation on sets.

Well, the old version did have a more serious-looking face with a black suit, so I understand the confusion. Those were from the preliminary images, but were changed. Of course, Doctor Who fans would be overjoyed about this, however. Off-topic, I don't think a flesh head with similar glasses exists. No flesh Doctor for me then. Too bad...

Looking at the image again, these do look quite good when combined together. For a challenge, it might be nice to fill in all the holes to create a complete world map. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that the temple-like area (part of the forest region) contains a few transparent blue axe heads! They might make good plasma weaponry. I'll probably get the forest part of the game since it's the best looking one. I do want that new helmet though, so if it's not included with the forest, I'll get whatever set it is included with.
