Ah, I see. I thought so. I'm now used to these current lightsabers, so I prefer them anyway. I also heard something about one of the possible reasons why they didn't release Padme's ship as being because the ship was meant to be chromed, but again, that would be a bit of overkill. Have any chromed parts even been made recently as part of sets? I own a few lightsaber hilts, an exclusive Bionicle mask and a Stormtrooper, all of which are chromed, but otherwise I haven't got any other chromed pieces. Edit: I've just checked some images of the Naboo Royal Starship, and it's a lot more reflective than I remembered previously. I don't think any major chroming would look good in Lego sets at all, really.

Yay! A few things here... it appears that those large samurai helmets might be separable from the head. There's also new chest armour for those large-headed skeletons. It's a little bit annoying that the four-armed skeleton is also in the temple set, as I pretty much bought Garmadon's Fortress for him. Oh well.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Delta 38 replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ooh, high-res images! Not too much seems to have changed since when I last saw them. That monkey is great, though, and the gladiator is still brilliant, as before. I've also noticed some arm printing on the lumberjack and gladiator (the gladiator seems to have one printed arm only, which is accurate). The gladiator also seems to have a new sword mould. Excitement. -
Hmm. Is there any difference between the current "chrome" and the old one? I remember pieces, particularly lightsaber hilts, had a metal look to them before, but now, they appear tarnished or something. Is the old method of chroming more expensive or something? Either way, I think chrome pieces (especially if the whole ship is meant to be chromed!) are a little bit too much for vehicles. It's just my opinion, of course, but it won't look right. I think Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon should stay in their current sets, as I'm probably going to put them as first priority regardless of price. More Naboo figures are definitely needed though, so it's a shame that there's only one pilot in the set. Edit: Or to put it clearer, old chrome pieces were reflective, while the current ones are just shiny.

Ah, I see. Interesting.

D2C Contest: Ninjago Dragon Ice Explorer
Delta 38 replied to Sir Jayko's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ooh, nice! I'm not quite sure what that's meant to be (a futuristic dragon-vehicle hybrid?), but it looks great. The bottom parts (the red and black) fit the overall aesthetic of the Ninjago theme, I think. -
That's all right then. So this theme is kind of confirmed, but with no further details? I'd like to see some smaller sets with a more recreational focus, rather than what we normally get with the City theme, such as emergency services and police stuff. Regardless of the target audience, that would probably be well-received by many City fans.

Nice! Interesting usage of pieces, such as those tires for the seaweed wrapping. Oh, and just curious, do those characters actually mean anything?
-
I agree. I prefer the new Astromech heads as the printing is larger and closer to the scale of the actual Astromech. Still a bit divided on the printing of the Clone Wars Astromechs, especially as most of mine are misprinted, but Astromechs are Astromechs, right?

I can't find anything on it. I can't remember if it was in the movies either, but yeah, blue doesn't seem right. I hope one of those Flash Speeders are released in a set soon. A battle pack based around Naboo might be nice for next year, but obviously Clones will have to come first.
-
Kind of, but at the same time, it's nice to be getting it at all. I did miss out on the most recent version, but I can't see too many differences to the older version. By the way, was that small vehicle seen in the movies or anything? It's not particularly interesting, but it could be nice to add to an airport or something. Edit: specifically, I meant that while it may be the same, that could be good.

REVIEW: Ninjago 30083: Dragon Fight
Delta 38 replied to pombe's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Interesting. Might be a nice source of those new knuckle pieces. Personally, though, I'd rather go for the Ambush because of the skeleton. -
Two unique figures eh? Interesting. I wonder if "unique" means that they're variations or entirely different minifigs. I realise I've been following this particular topic heavily. Must be because of that rumoured Lightning Dragon.
-
It looks almost the same as the old one! Yay! Seriously though, I can't see much difference with the exception of the clear cockpit, which is nice. The Droideka still looks a little... weird. I don't think I can get used to a brick-built one, but it is an improvement, at least. I wish there could be more Naboo pilots or guards though. My collection of Episode 1 stuff won't quite be done without some more...
-
Hmm, sounds like something potentially nice. Whatever it is, if it goes ahead, I hope it has actual minifigures, not the Belville... things.
-
I forgot about that, thanks for refreshing my memory... I'm fine with the ship being the same, I just want to own the set in the first place. It is a bit bland, to be honest, but with the other Episode 1 sets released soon, it'd be great to add to my collection.
-
Wow! I hadn't seen the prototype, but it looks great in comparison to what we actually got. Nice work so far, it looks sleeker and better than the original prototype.
-
Hmm. While I'm not a fan of Luke's current hair (was it even like that in the movies?), I don't like his new hair too much either. It's too flat, I think. Maybe Han's hair can be changed to that one we're currently seeing in City sets, the "rougher" version with the similar shape. I still can't figure out exactly what the interior is meant to be showing.
-
Hmm, that looks... I don't even know what to make of it.
-
Hey, that's pretty cool. Reminds me of a Halo Falcon or Hornet. This isn't actually canon, though, is it?
-
Nice! It appears "heavier" and stronger than the official version which I own from the Wampa Attack set, for obvious reasons. The grey colour works surprisingly well for a vehicle that's mean to be white.
-
I think most (if not all) of those pieces came in bags. I can't really remember. I would have thought that softer parts did need extra protection, especially with the printing/painting. That was probably the reason why they came in bags in the first place. Oh well, interesting to know anyway. I haven't had any quality issues with Chinese plastic yet, except some slightly dodgy plastic with the collectible minifigs.
-
The updated version is definitely an improvement, I think the original was a bit too complex (especially around the back). Great work.
-
Ooh, Monsters Inc would be great! Seeing the amount of strange head moulds recently, it could definitely be a possibility. I have a feeling it may be as popular as the Toy Story sets because of their overall feel. I agree, however. I don't think Cars is meant to be the main focus here, and hopefully, a better theme will replace it next year or so.

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!

I saw the City set with the red car and police car today at my local Target. It's probably the smallest exclusive set I've seen.
