  1. Maybe the abduction function will consist of Technic parts which pull up a minifig once a gear is turned. Hmm. Now that there's an actual function and not a claw which can just grip minifigs manually, it'd be interesting to see what this will turn out to be. As for the vehicles, I think a darker shade would look better and probably be more logical.
  2. Ironically, the image above was a computer-generated one, not an actual minifigure. We've often seen examples of extra detail (such as the side printing on the DX ninjas), so maybe the white arms are intentional. Still, I'd prefer plain black ones. I agree, I'm not really into the card/spinner aspect myself. It's interesting to note that quite a few kids here are buying the spinner packs, not because of the cards or game aspect, but simply because they like spinning things and minifigures. So yes, Lego is getting to the intended audience, but not in the way that they might have hoped.
  3. I have the same sticker problem. My sticker sheet was curled, so originally I thought that was the cause.
  4. Hmm. I've been thinking it over for a while, and I believe we're going to see a non-canon Christmas variant of a character, I'm guessing. If the character has appeared before but isn't in any of the media, then this seems to be right. George Lucas doesn't seem like a possibility now, because the character has appeared before (I'm assuming that means as a minifig).
  5. Actually, he said "bar one" (i.e. one will be new). I don't think a new Jedi is very likely. A new Clone perhaps, but also not very likely. I'm thinking along the lines of a major character from the Original Trilogy.
  6. Hmm, interesting. "No less than nine". No specifics, so that may hint at more things we haven't seen. That seems most likely, and I think that's good for most of us. That way, Darth Maul can wear a hood, and other headgear is compatible with them. As we expected. "Mini models from the entire galaxy" seems to hint that we'll be seeing stuff from all the different movies. I'm interested as to whether the new figure is a variant of an existing one, or a completely new one altogether.
  7. Well, the boxes of minifigs here aren't as full as they were before, but the price increase does seem to deter most. I've kind of given up collecting them. I'd just like an elf and two samurais at this point, as the dots get very hard to decode after you've bought a few and don't want any multiples. I've gotten ten figures with only one duplicate (a sumo, but I'm okay with that). I think the codes have changed here. There were a couple of them which I couldn't identify, and I felt it was safer to just leave them. It's too difficult to find specifics, but it is easy to at least tell if you've gotten unique figures.
  8. Yes, I noticed that too. No minifigures over here, though. Too bad. I did, however, get two Clone battle packs and get a third Mandalorian one, so that's okay. Oh, and just a correction... that Target sale is actually for all Lego themes, not just Ninjago. Perhaps Ninjago is just more marketed as it does include a collectible element.
  9. Interesting. I'm actually going to get this set now, in a few hours once shops open. Great to know Samukai's mouth opens. I think we need more larger figures with movable mouths. The set itself looks fairly empty, but if you have extra money I suppose you could buy a second and modify it to serve as a back. Still, it's one of the few buildings in the theme, so I may as well get it.
  10. Interesting. The quote confirms most things that we've already known, though the variation in Pirates of the Caribbean sets sounds nice. Back on topic... I have no idea where those might be from. Are beams those Technic pieces which have holes for pins in, but no studs? Even if so, no idea. Might be something to help reinforce the Podracers, but I don't know how likely that is. Advent calendars? Interesting. I wonder if they saw any hints of the Star Wars one?
  11. Well, I know what you mean. I've had strong urges to buy those Halo Megabloks sets (being a large Halo fan myself), but I haven't. It also just so happens that I'm a fan of Doctor Who as well. But yeah, personally, it doesn't matter either way. The only reason why I haven't bought the whole lineup is mostly devotion to Lego.
  12. Nice idea! The background looks like it's part of a larger scene, and it works well. I had a similar idea with Astromechs and Jar Jar, but I don't have any MOC'ing talents, unfortunately. Edit: Oh, and that window is nice.
  13. Hmm, interesting. I like that gladiator figure, and that lizard-suit minifig will be useful to me (in a strange way). I've always been fond of face-obscuring helmets. Dwarf is also nice, I missed all previous ones. As of now, I've almost given up hope of collecting minifigs as their prices are up to $5 here, but I just might start collecting them. Now that the prices are so high, there are boxes full of them that no-one's willing to buy.
  14. Greetings everyone. I'll frequent this thread often in case of sales. Thanks for that, I was planning to go today. I don't mind that Ninjago seems to be the only theme discounted, as it is one of my current obsessions. The prices are great, too. Garmadon's fortress for $89 sounds like a good excuse to buy it. Speaking of which, does anyone know the availability of Nuckal's ATV? It looks like an exclusive, so I'm guessing it's TRU?
  15. I agree. Green lightsabers are always neon green (though I think it looks more like neon yellow, so I normally call it that), and blue lightsabers are a bit too pale. It's probably just me, but I wouldn't mind a change to darker shades of blue and green. A bit late now, though... But yes, the lightsaber indeed does look more green than usual. I hope future green lightsabers will look like that, but they have been neon green/yellow for a long time, so I doubt it.
  16. Oh, that's too bad. It's never good when people do pass on, inevitable as it may be...
  17. Interesting. The white arms look a bit odd though. So, we've seen three different outfits so far: the normal one we get in sets, the other white outfit, and the black one. I hope we'll get the other white version.
  18. If I'm following the way you're thinking, then yes, I agree. The main reason is because I didn't find many sets while they were actually out, but these are better. I prefer flesh minifigs in most cases anyway. Hmm, I wonder what the posters will be. Not that I'm that interested, of course. Will they all be the same, or maybe posters of the sets themselves?
  19. I didn't know that those packs were even available here. Hmm. I still don't think my chances of finding one are too high (I went to TRU two times recently, and both times, the store had no new stock at all). I'll just buy individually for the moment.
  20. Well, that should mean that there will be a second version of Sensei Wu, which is good. Has the design changed?
  21. Interesting comics. I'm thinking of contributing my own soon, but I'd need to edit them heavily (the image size is ridiculous!). Anyway, nice work.
  22. Okay, just my brief input for the Clone Wars argument... I don't have any form of cable television and therefore can't watch episodes on television. I also think that the whole timeline is more like a spin-off. Regardless, I buy virtually any set, even though I don't recognise Clone Wars vehicles or characters as much. Despite those who don't like the series, it has kept the license alive, even with games and media that portray the Original Trilogy floating around. Eventually, it'd get outdated for the target audience. Kids can attracted to anything, particularly vehicles that they saw recently on television. I'm guessing that they'd go more for Clone Wars sets than other decent Original Trilogy sets. And Clones are involved, anyway. I'm definitely okay with that. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Back on topic, I think the advent calendar will be either Clone Wars or Original Trilogy themed (one only, and not a mix). As my points above suggest, I'm guessing it'd be Clone Wars.
  23. Interesting. I didn't save any of the pictures, but from what I remember, the small sets were fairly good. Well, this definitely makes up for the previous Pirates line. I only bought the two impulse sets and regretted not getting others.
  24. Yeah, sounds about right. I'm not a collector of minis, though. It would be nice to have small segments of scenes like in most other advent calendars. Maybe a control panel of some sort, a speeder, an escape pod...? I don't know how advent calendars work, but it seems that every square makes a full minifig or small set. Maybe minis would be too hard to represent using this limit.
  25. Named characters? Hmm, I haven't thought of that. Now that there is an advent calendar, I have a feeling that there would be standard minifigs (droids, Clones, Stormtroopers etc.) and a small number of distinct characters, perhaps in exclusive versions. I think that it might be Clone Wars-themed, which I'm okay with.
