  1. I got the walker set today, and I was a little surprised. The hammerhead warrior's head didn't come in one of those small plastic bags, which I believe usually signifies a Chinese component. Does this mean that the main factory is now going to produce these special parts or something? Yay, transparent red head. They should really do more transparent heads.
  2. Interesting. Some of the heads seem to have changed from what I last saw. Anyway, nice.
  3. Strange. It certainly seems to be doing well here, as I keep on seeing parents buying spinner packs for their children, and subsequently complaining about the price. Maybe the spinners are doing too well, though. Kids seem to prefer them instead of the sets. I actually bought the Turbo Shredder yesterday. I was surprised to see that there was a function: a strange raking motion that the front of the vehicle performs as it is pushed forward. It certainly seems that as many features as possible are being stuffed into the skeletons' vehicles.
  4. I agree, the figures in demand should really be made in higher numbers per box. Sure, people will hoard them, but it's fairer that way, I guess. I finally found a samurai, yay! I decided to get two (though there were more) because I felt I deserved it after waiting for so long. I also got the very useful gorilla suit guy. The price increase means that the boxes here are barely even looted, and I've only got about three more figures to go until my collection is complete. I did notice something annoying, however. Both the samurais I had appeared to be of a lower quality. I haven't seen this issue with the other figures, but the plastic's colour appears kind of faded and is thinner than normal plastic. I don't own a magnet set, but from the complaints I've heard, I think this is similar to the issues there.
  5. Ah, okay. That was probably unintentional, though. It might be more logical for the laser-thing on the tripod to move around, while the cockpit stays in the same position. At least one part of the tripod should move like that, anyway...
  6. This would be good news for me, as I missed series one completely, except for the fact that I live in Australia. Oh well, buying stuff online in a few years for me it is...
  7. This topic has become quite random. By the way, where was the gum on the ship? I missed that...
  8. Wow, that's great! Do those wires power the lights inside? It's interesting if they are in fact part of the power supply, to add double functionality to them. The colour could possibly be improved (the tan should probably be darker), but overall, very nice.
  9. I probably speak for myself, but Yoda's hut would be quite nice, even without a vehicle. Also, Lobot should be in Cloud City, not Jabba's palace. I'm almost sure the "UCS Lobot" clue was a joke that wasn't indicative of anything.
  10. Apparently, the ADU will brainwash you with those alien "pets" if you discuss the existence of them, which is probably some part of a vast conspiracy theory of some sort for the enslavement of the human race... Well, that didn't make an awful lot of sense, and it's almost definitely wrong, but interesting theory. I don't think the small references and jokes that Lego put in delve into that kind of stuff.
  11. Ah, I see. It's quite nice, and not what I expected. The Turbo Shredder is actually the only set left to purchase for the current wave, incidentally. Otherwise, I own all of the sets except for the exclusives.
  12. Oh dear. After trying for a couple of months, I still do not have a single elf, samurai, gorilla-suited person, rapper or hula dancer. Annoyingly, most of those are ones I really want, too. I have three sumos now, which is also annoying. On the bright side, there can now be a sumo faction in my Ninjago collection... But back on topic, the dots are somewhat reliable in my experience. The sumos came from good faith, where I took a random one if I felt lucky. Needless to say, I'm not particularly lucky. I really hope that the series 4 minifigs will have an easier code or something. Standing around for hours while checking each box isn't very nice.
  13. I think Commanderneyo was referring to the practice of using temporary set numbers which already exist, which are usually found in rumours. Either way, the tank would be great, and so would Yoda's hut. If they're real, I'd prefer it if Yoda's hut didn't include an X-Wing for pricing reasons.
  14. Interesting! I thought Brickmaster was being replaced though.
  15. Yay, bought the Swamp Speeder and Battle for Geonosis sets today at my local TRU. They must have stocked recently, as I went there a month ago with no success (not even any sign of the Swamp Speeder). I guess that most stores should be restocking about now. Also saw the Skeleton Bowling set, but decided against buying it.
  16. Yeah, the Death Star isn't quite the same. However, I would prefer a smaller set for Jabba's palace, similar to the Wampa Attack. Just a small part of the actual palace would be much better for me personally, and if it includes a Rancorr and Jabba then it'd be the perfect set to round out my current collection.
  17. Ha, somehow I knew this was going to happen after that survey with smaller box sizes (I was in favour). It does make the set appear more overpriced, but it's better once you open it. I did notice a change in some sets, particularly the Ninja Outpost set from the Ninjago line, which was impulse-sized despite being a few dollars above that mark. The rectangular box also looks better, instead of the awkward squarish one. That actually looks really good! It also makes me slightly jealous, as I throw away all my boxes without a second thought.
  18. Aw, I just done some major shopping there today! Oh well, thanks for the heads-up. There's still a few Ninjago sets I need, and I haven't even started on Atlantis. Maybe I can get a nice price on the Clone Turbo Tank or Atlantis temple, both of which I wouldn't get normally.
  19. Well, it's not new (released 2007) but last year was the first time I saw it in a place I could buy it from. Still, here's a link to the image on Brickset. According to Brickset, the set's not meant to come with that Clone Trooper, which is strange. I thought they were including a Stormtrooper because they ran out or something. Link Hmm, Jabba's Palace. I would be happy if both the ship and the palace (separate sets though) were released. The set number (assuming it's correct etc.) suggests it might be a big set, though. Hoping for the ship then. I think there's potential for minifigs (maybe Leia in her disguise, a Rancorr...?) in the palace though, so we'll see.
  20. Unfortunately, it seems like what I feared is confirmed: that new helmet appears to be in the largest set only, unless I've missed something. Still, the Forest is good. Green tiles (which I might need), trans-blue axe heads and extra weapons, yay. A bit off-topic, but it seems that many of the sets in the line aren't going to be released here. I'm annoyed that Orient Bazaar didn't seem to make it, and even the recent Sunblock game seems to be missing.
  21. Oh, they are? I could really do with a few of those, but yeah, pricey. I saw a Clone Trooper watch (Episode 3 one with yellow markings, except the figure included was a Stormtrooper, I think) which I was tempted to buy. Of all places, it was on an in-flight catalogue while flying overseas. Still, decided against it from the price, and also because it didn't actually include the depicted figure.
  22. $80 for Geonosis? That sounds more expensive than I'd expected. Though with Rex, it's worth it. It's getting close to March. I might check my local TRU tomorrow afternoon, hopefully they've finally restocked...
  23. Yeah, I agree. Why is it that all the smaller well-designed vehicles always come in the biggest sets? The HQ looks like the best vehicle in terms of realistic look and structure that I've seen in a long while, yet I'm certain my budget won't manage to squish that in.
  24. That reminds me... we've seen five of the minifigs in the advent calendar, so hopefully the other three are good. I'm hoping for some more clones. Edit: I hope the price doesn't go up too high here. I think they're normally $40 or so here, but I have only seen one of the City ones in stores, none of the others. I especially wanted that Castle one... Anyway, I think that was to be expected.
  25. All of the set ninjas are in normal plastic, so that's not an issue. I think the Skeleton Bowling set is an exclusive though, so finding it is hard enough. That's why I'm worried, because if the Lightning Dragon isn't going to come out, then there's little chance of getting the Skeleton Bowling set.
