Same here. I thought size matters for a bomb ketch. -

Will there be a lesson on pirating images off the Internet? -
Why is LEGO so hesitant about bringing back classic themes?

It may be worthwhile for a smaller entity like BL to play in the niche market producing and distributing limited run low volume offerings. -
Hexadecimals may be enough differentiation to that someone not well versed in the ways of bricks wouldn't confuse it with a real TLG product.

Does humidity hurt Lego bricks in the long run?
dr_spock replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
High humidity/moisture could provide an environment for micro-organisms. Some micro-organisms can break down polymers but synthetic plastics like ABS can take a very very long time. I think the instruction booklets and boxes would be more at risk for mold growth under damp conditions. From BASF antioxidant marketing info: Organic materials react with molecular oxygen in a process called "autoxidation". Autoxidation is initiated by heat, light (high energy radiation), mechanical stress, catalyst residues, or reaction with impurities to form alkyl radicals. The free radical can, in turn, react and result in the degradation of the polymer. Sounds like oxygen could be the bad guy joining up with free radicals and causing no good. -
You would need a sensor like the 88007. If you want it outside of the train at the side of the track, then another Powered UP hub (battery box) to connect it to. Also a smartphone or tablet and the Powered UP app version 3.0 or later. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/color-distance-sensor-88007

You may have to be careful with using too high a voltage with the PF LEDs without changing the value of the built-in current limiting resistor. Exceeding the LED max. current can be fatal to the LED. I 3D printed some dummy AA batteries connect to a 9VDC wall adapter. They could go into a 8881 AA PF battery box without modifications. You can also make them from wood dowels, etc.

Sad. Playmobil has discontinued their train sets, They were G-scale sized. I wonder if Playmobil train fans ponders the same thing. Why is LEGO still selling train sets and Playmobil won't bring back trains? -
You can still see the MOC's pictures but not able to download its Stud.io file if it is a MOC with an IP owned by someone else? Sounds like Lord Business wants you to build by pictures like those alternative builds on old LEGO® set boxes without instructions.

Congrats! Is it a Kindle Direct?

Is the cap is backwards in the Brickset photo or is that new headgear piece?

I would guess business case. Either no one at LEGO® put together a business case for re-releasing themes or someone did and the business case did not meet the criteria to be approved to production. -

Custom controls for up to 4 trains in the Powered Up app
dr_spock replied to kbalage's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice. I had modified that same controller screen to control one locomotive with 2 motors installed. App 3.0 opens up a lot of possibilities. -
Cool. Reminds me of those last century Lionel sets too.

There is a node.js PUP project on Github, if you prefer writing code. You would have to set up a node.js server running on PC or laptop or Raspberry PI. I think it is better for larger more complex programs. You can set the color of the sensor light with the light block. I think it defaults to blue. There is white, blue, red, green, etc. It is up to you what function you want to execute on the detected color. -
@Toastie -> Happy Birthday!

Programming Powered UP app is similar to LEGO BOOST app. If you used the BOOST app before, it'll be very familiar. If you haven't, EB user kbalage put together a nice PUP programming block guide: https://racingbrick.com/powered-up-code-block-guide/ I used the Powered UP Color & Distance Sensor: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/color-distance-sensor-88007 Here are some other stuff you can do with it: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/175758-powered-up-train-automation-experiments/ Have fun.
