My name is Michael, and I'm an AFOL...
dr_spock replied to michaelw116's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome aboard. You could try BrickLink.com to get the pieces if they aren't available on the PAB wall or LEGO Shop@Home. Be careful, it can be addictive. -
Those pics have already been posted. Start from page 3 of the thread to see what everybody thinks.

Old rails compatible with new ones?
dr_spock replied to Good old Lego builder's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You can check out this topic -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31962 domboy has some pictures on how he did it. Also I think someone 3D printed an adapter. -
Very nice. I had a CITY Space Shuttle sitting on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner a couple of years ago. Thought about converting the 787 to a 747 SCA but parted the 787 instead. Good luck with your project.

Eneloop rechargeable batteries in PF battery box........
dr_spock replied to v6TransAM's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Good work. I don't think the designers had Eneloop batteries when they designed and tested the box. I think it might be possible to shave the plastic with a Dremel tool and engraving bit without having to take apart the battery box. But really steady hands are needed. -
Congratulations to the winners. Well done.

Welcome aboard. That's cool being in the Lego Club Magazine. Do you still have the issue?

On YouTube many people like to crash Lego trains for some reason. The one piece nose would be safer for the minifigure engineer in a crash. A brick built one could disintegrate and expose the engineer to harm and possible death.

Eneloop rechargeable batteries in PF battery box........
dr_spock replied to v6TransAM's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You could take apart the battery box and enlarge the opening in the plastic. Measure the diameter of the battery's positive terminal and make hole slightly bigger. That's probably the easiest to do. If you're good with soldering, you could try to build up a layer of solder on the contacts so it reaches the battery tips. -
They are sold at Mastermind toy stores in Ontario, Canada. Comes in many colours including pink.

Eneloop rechargeable batteries in PF battery box........
dr_spock replied to v6TransAM's topic in LEGO Train Tech
With NiMH rechargeables, I get same issues every now and then. I try rolling the batteries in the holder. Some times that work. If not, I take out the batteries and re-insert.
