  1. By the case was better for some pieces before LEGO raised the price per case last year. Any way, it is kind of moot now as we can no longer buy by the case now in North America. The best value option would be to take the time to carefully pack the cup.
  2. Nice. Wish LEGO would make 6x2x2 curved windscreens.
  3. Welcome aboard, Ranger of the Forest. Friends are fun to MOC with.
  4. No problem, I'm new at Arduino too. UNO R3 ATmega328P CH340 Mini USB Board for Compatible-Arduino Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for anyone making interactive projects. In LEGO terms, think of it like a very inexpensive Mindstorm NXT.
  5. I ordered on eBay from one of the sellers in China called Worldchips.
  6. Thank you. I had it running at an event last weekend.
  7. Join a LUG. Great way to pool resources to make a long train and have fun. For fun we coupled everyone's train cars together today for a long run. Excuse the rain water on the plexiglass. It was a rainy day outdoor picnic event. One member has old 9V stuff. I got it to work with my 12V lead acid battery transformed to 9V. Who needs an AC outlet to power the tracks?
  8. Very nice work. Blue is a good color.
  9. It seems to work as programmed. But I did notice as the battery in the train engine worn down the train wasn't stopping at the same spot originally. A possible solution might be to use two reed switches. First one triggers train slow down routine. The second triggers the slam on brake command. Thank you.
  10. Welcome aboard, Amanda. If your photos are on flickr, there is a tutorial on how to deeplink them to Eurobricks. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97921
  11. You can copy and paste the BBCode links from Imgur to deeplink your pics into your message so that users don't have to hop to another website to see your pics. Select large thumbnail size. Don't use original if your pics are larger than Eurobricks Site Guidellines of typical 800x600.
  12. Welcome to Eurobricks, Ron. Nice cars.
  13. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I didn't think the 8070 looked that bad. The rear seemed an after thought to accomodate Power Functions. Nothing a little "plastic surgery" can't fix. Maybe we could have a topic or contest on the ugliest thing we MOCed and dare to share.
  14. Since they are a fraction of a millimeter smaller they should fit through anything a LEGO ball will. The problem I found with those beads is they can get stuck on their hole if they aren't rolling fast enough. Most of the time another ball comes along and knocks it going again. But 100 for $5 is something I can live with.
  15. It's been done before by others. I've used it for mock ups. LDD is ok but it doesn't tell you how your MOC is going to hold up physically under load.
  16. Makes you wonder what kind of solvents were in the tires back then and their MSDS information.
  17. Welcome aboard Steve.
  18. Welcome to Eurobricks.
  19. They've added Pick A Model to the wall which takes over some of the bins. You can still do PAB but some stores may or may not limit PAM pieces in the PAB cups. We recently had a topic on it: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107741
