Well, the exterior is just fine and does the job... but the scope, scale, and detail of your interiors is spectacular! Excellent job on the integrated lighting, too. I'm glad that the decks that needed it were given the appropriate height, and the way you've layered the rest in and made them all mesh together in a reasonable way is just lovely. Spectacular build!

If you use Bricklink to confirm set inventories...
deraven replied to 62Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This was my first thought as well - will the "complete" inventory change based on the region of the seller or something crazy like that? I assume not, of course, which then again adds more inconsistency and potential grief for users while solving basically nothing that I can see. A needless change IMO. Thanks for bringing it to light here. -

Isn't this the case with every large MOC, always? Really great work, regardless.

So much detail - fantastic! I like the practical touches you've added in as well like the way the different rooms can slide out. I think you've got a nice balance between size and realism, and you've certainly captured the overall look and feel. I think the only thing that sticks out to me is that the base of the shield generator could use some snow greebling to blend in its rectangular base a bit better. Excellent build!

[Lego Movie] was rex dangervest a construction worker?
deraven replied to Foreman's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Essentially, yes. I mean, I'm not saying that I'm going into the theater expecting to see exactly that, but that or something along that theme wouldn't surprise me. We already know that Sweet Mayhem is Finn's sister, and there has to be some kind of other twist they're going to throw at us, so who knows. I also think that the Duplo still being used and voiced in such a childlike manner hints that there could be another (3rd), younger sibling in the mix. But... just kinda throwing stuff out there. -
[Lego Movie] was rex dangervest a construction worker?
deraven replied to Foreman's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I honestly wonder if Rex is actually Emmet's alter ego. At least in the trailers so far, Rex is never in a scene with the rest of Emmet's friends, so he could be the "harder, tougher" version of himself that Lucy says is needed in those times while protecting his innocent side. -

Fantastic! That stump is great all-around, but I especially like the "rings" on the top!- 10 replies

Yeah, I do think that's all it needs. Just a little something to break up the flat expanse above and below the windows. This is one of those cases where it looks like it's too simple, but that's actually how the real-life inspiration is (minus the rivets).
-
The swing-wings are great, and I just love that engine area! Really excellent use of the parts from the Tron set there. Of course a fun overall design, too, but the tight angle work really takes it to another level.
-
Looks great - you've captured the overall look very well. Seems like it could use just a little more detail/texture on the sides, but that might simply be a couple of livery/line stickers. Looking forward to seeing the other cars!

That's a solid rendition at that scale. I would still call it Mini, though, given relative sizes we're talking about here, but there's not nearly enough Star Trek represented in Lego so I'm just happy to see it! The deflector dish is nice with the gold/bronze inset, though I wonder if a minifig screwdriver element would look better there for scale instead of that bar? Simple but effective part use on the top of the saucer dome for the bridge + deck 2 area, too. Nice build.

Welcome to EB, placidsheep! Look at that, some quick kinship already! Happy building.

That's a lovely farmhouse! The SNOT stonework around the bottom and into the chimney looks great, and you've done an excellent interior as well especially considering the small space available. I also appreciate how the fireplace and chimney are actually properly integrated into the rest of the structure (vs just a disconnected chimney facade stuck on the roof). Just enough detail on the irregular base, too, and the chicken coop is a nice touch.

Very nicely done. Great job capturing the geometries, and even the overall shapes of the building blocks.

Need info on a certain (outrageously rare) LEGO brick...
deraven replied to _lego_maniac_'s topic in Special LEGO Themes
What makes you think a minifig came with it? Is there glue residue or something like that? Regarding the photos: The paperclip/upload option on Eurobricks is only for very small images to be used in your signature line here on the board. You only get 100K total, so even 1 regular image probably pushes the limit of available space. For sharing photos of MOCs, etc., you'll want to use a 3rd party service, so here's a tutorial on linking/embedding Flickr images in your posts: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/ I'm not sure what you mean by "real" - there are many, many engraved bricks out there that Lego clubs and events churn out. I guess this is kind of "official" Lego if it came from Brick Kicks which is what you're getting at? What info do you have that establishes that as given away by the magazine in 1993? If that's definitely the source, do you have access to the magazines? Maybe the winner was mentioned in later issues? -
That's a great little build! For being all of 4 parts, that starship looks great! Very effective build for the Borg cube at that size as well.

Need info on a certain (outrageously rare) LEGO brick...
deraven replied to _lego_maniac_'s topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi lego_maniac = welcome to EB! What additional info are you looking for? Yes, a picture would be helpful. Is it etched/engraved, or printed? Sounds like it's engraved into the brick and then painted-in with pink? -
Hi Push - welcome to EB! Does the rail need to have the studs in that orientation, or can they be to the inside of the plate?
-
Nice build. NPU on the roller skates for some detail, and that shield on the sail is excellent! The newer cut-curve pieces on the aft sail work really nicely, too. Well done!

Kaliphlin at Work - Day 17: Glass Workshop in Barqa
deraven replied to Gideon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow, this is great! Just enough detail in the build itself to keep it interesting and industrial but uncluttered, and the lighting of course totally sells it! The glowing glass coming out of the furnace is fantastic.- 18 replies

Nice build! It captures the classic Pirates line feel, but has some delightful more modern touches in the design. I really like the inclusion of the small island baseplate right there as a simple natural feature of the port.

Blast furnace with torpedo wagon and slag cart
deraven replied to Ymarilego's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hi Ymarilego! Please do put some images and more info about your MOC here so this isn't seen as just advertisement of your Ideas project. It sounds like you're talking about the paperclip/upload option on Eurobricks which only for very small images to be used in your signature line here on the board. You only get 100K total, so even 1 regular image probably pushed you to the limit of available space. For sharing photos of MOCs, etc., you'll want to use a 3rd party service and I think most folks would recommend Flickr, if not using a Lego-focussed image hosting service. Here's a tutorial on linking/embedding Flickr images in your posts: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/ Your creation looks good - I bet the 13k brick version is impressive!
