  1. Do the research first. You can easily waste thousands of dollars if you don't know what you're doing. Pad printing isn't like plugging in an inkjet or laser printer to you computer and hitting "Print" - it's more like a combination of screen printing and an old school printing press. If you don't have a way to make the plates (or silicone blanket + charged screen for ink deposition, if the machine supports that) then you won't get very far. Curious to see what you come up with if you charge ahead, though, so please do share what you find and try!
  2. That's delightful. A nice, modern station (with electric charging!), but still a very Lego feel. I love all the details you've built into the interior. You've really captured the feel of a convenience store with the variety of items, colors, etc.. Those low-angle shots under the fueling awning really sell the feel and I can imagine myself standing there filling up. Great build!
  3. Beautiful! And the assembled train with locomotive and tender is fabulous!
  4. Looks great! My first thought without having read the description was that it looks like a Rally Fighter, so I guess your inspiration shows through in the final design! Great set of features packed in there, and aesthetically it's lovely. As Jeroen said, the bodywork is tidy and beautiful!
  5. ... not at all. I was reply to your comment "I've found a lot on ebay but are they all authentic and original?" where you seem to have that concern yourself. I think you can either set up some saved searches on eBay and buy lots of police Lego as they come up, or go to Bricklink and buy up what you need from the wide variety there that MAB pointed out. Even if it's a few different sellers on Bricklink, it'll still most likely be faster and easier than digging through eBay listings.
  6. Welcome to EB, AV_guy! I agree with Nick Wolfe about adding the right amount of "personality" to the rock face, and especially about the plates at the bottom for the water effect - that will make a huge difference! There are more advance rock/cliff techniques that you could employ, but if this is a backdrop for classic sets, I think it looks fine but also helps stick with the slightly blockier classic feel... and unless you just really enjoy building rocks this style will be much faster to complete than others. Looking forward to seeing your display when it's completed!
  7. If that's your primary concern, I would but them on Bricklink as it's pretty easy to find reputable sellers there, and you'll have plenty of selection from torsos and accessories to full minifigures. A good pack to look at is 850617 which comes with 4 police minifigs and accessories, plus a police dog: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=850617-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0}
  8. Very nice! I think you need to get more slope to the hood if you can to really capture the DeLorean look, but you've also got a great set of features built into it, and there's no mistaking what car it is.
  9. Plenty of tutorials and help to figure it out, and it is your best bet (and worth figuring out in general). Otherwise, you could definitely put them up on eBay (especially if you're willing to ship internationally), and just set a Buy It Now price that he's OK with, so long as you're not necessarily concerned with a quick sale.
  10. All very nice, but I love that updated take on Santa using the classic printed brick face!
  11. Another lovely vig! The cluttered workshop look is definitely fun, and the items including the chest stuffed up above their heads is a nice touch. I'm a little worried about that torch there in the wood shop, though.
  12. That's lovely. Interesting creatures and nice composition with the pop of color there.
  13. Hi Angela - welcome to EB! There's some cool stuff on your FB page, and I look forward to seeing more of your MOCs here. Happy building!
  14. Personally, I think the vocals could use some work ... but it's still fun and your Technic creations look great! Definitely looking forward to seeing more about those.
  15. Looks great! The front cylinders feel a bit too bulky/wide to me, but that's minor criticism given how well you've made this +/- 6-wide version look!
  16. That really is great - so much detail at this in-between scale! You're right about a couple of the parts not being ideal, but the only ones that really stick out to me are the barrels on the sides as has been noted. I would almost lose those, move the dishes out further toward the outside line of the ship, and cap them with a 6w dish to give it a little more taper and call it a day. But seriously, that's pretty small criticism in relation to the rest of the awesomeness. I especially like that side profile with the landing gear deployed!
  17. Nice build. I like that gnarly tree in the back, and a lovely color selection. The work on the roofline is nicely done and adds a bit of unexpected detail there.
  18. Really impressed with how well you've captured it at that scale without resorting to a ton of stickers, etc.. Great use of the various slopes and wedge plates. Nice build!
  19. Welcome out of your Dark Age and to Eurobricks, ian74! It really is a freeing experience to have that kind of realization, and happy to have you here with us and adding another to the number of AFOLs in the world.
  20. Welcome to EB, Denis! I'm sorry you won't be able to do any building for a while, but hopefully you'll be able to pass the time by interacting with other folks here on Eurobricks. I like those MOCs you posted, especially the green truck! The way you did the hood and fenders is great!
  21. Very nice. The s-foils in particular are superior to many designs that I've seen (and certainly better than the official TLG versions)!
  22. The table is a nice design, and interesting to see how you've done the sitting minifigs. I also really like how you set up the server to hold those 4 steins!
  23. That's fun - thanks for sharing! And happy building with your recovered/salvaged parts!
  24. That looks great! Fairly simple design that's well-executed and I agree would be great for larger displays and certainly something more unique than the usual miles of shunting yard tracks. I do think it would take it up another notch to add some mooring lines or other little details to the barge itself, but it's a lovely build regardless.
  25. Check Bricklink for used sets and see if there's a deal (but most likely not). You might also be able to find a lot on eBay that is incomplete and at a lower price due to that but useful to you in this case. Otherwise you'll be paying over retail (which I assume is not what you would consider "cheap"), and it might be better to consider virtually building what you want in Studio - starting from the instructions for things like Gold City Junction - and modding there, then see what your cost would be on Bricklink for the parts and make adjustments as needed. Most of the components for those sets aren't particularly rare or expensive other than the sticker sheet and some of the printed parts or specific minifigs, so Bricklinking what you need may be the economical way to go.
