[MOC] The Siege of Skull Island by Imperial Guards
JeffBuilds replied to evancelt's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's only Click-Bait if it's not Lego. It's Lego, and it still counts! I do like the Kaleidoscope style, almost psychedelic arrangement, and it all seems to tell a story while you're looking at it! The Pirates, in their stronghold, on the map at the center, are surrounded on all sides by the Imperials, and opt to make a final last-ditch valiant defense of their lair! -
I would be all for a Metal-Beard Centric LEGO TV series! Call it something like "The Adventures of Captain Metal Beard, and the Pit-Crew!" Or something like that. EDIT: OOH, I GOT A MOC I KNOW YOU MIGHT GET A KICK OUT OF, ONE SEC... "CAPTAIN STEEL-BEARD!" The Se-1 Ep-1 Bad guy in the Pitch episode! Airs more on the side of cartoon villainy, "Metalbeard's Good, so I must be Bad!" kind of logic. Honestly, if we're talking spinoffs, I would be (and still am all for) a Lego BAD-COP Spinoff Movie; Possibly a riff on the old Police Academy Films, where after the Super-Secret-Policeforce had been disbanded, somewhere between the LEGO Movie 1 and 2, Bad-Cop has to train a bunch of Master-Builders to be part of the new and improved Super-Secret Precinct, and go up against The Brickster and his gang of criminals (pooling from Pirate, Space Police 3, Cowboys, and Lego City Baddies) Going a little further, I'm more for the Pieces parts in Lego Ninjago and Nexo-Knights, not the Plot. Just wish they released the Underwater sets, or introduced some... wierd Sci-Fi Alien-Skeleton-Coral-Reef Pirates, or something for me to piece-poach off of before they decided to jump to the final wave.

Once upon a time, I made a Space Ship for the first time for Ship-Tember 2020, The Cosmic Cruiser, and it was my first stab at making a Space Ship. I wanted to make something with a believable interior, with bunks and facilities for the crew of the ship, fun little details like that! At the most, I included bunks and storage for the crew of 2's equipment, and a recharge station for the Shipboard A.I's Android to chill out in, along with a sliding airlock door, and a small boarding ramp at the rear of the craft! All in the shape of the Rocket ship in the Lego Classic Space Logo! I opted to make it colored after Lego Futuron, as it was the Space Theme that was around when I was growing up, that was the opposite of Blacktron 2. Anyway, Something else I wanted to include in a revision of the model was a Machine Bay onboard the ship, with a small recon craft for remote scouting missions. In this video, I show off the MK. 1 design for the Cosmic Cruiser, as well as the more refined MK. 2 Design, with improved Engineering bay and Recon rover. I wanted to film the video in a similar style to... another video on my channel, that has a gratuitous, copious amount of hits on it, in hopes that lightning strikes twice! So it's no commentary, some filler music, and the Model doing all the leg-work! The ship itself is still not perfect, but I'm mildly content with what I have on display for now.

okay; mildly curious and excited now! Hopefully, with the way LEGO has been with Leaking their own products, we get a preview of what these sets look like!

Fantasy Pirates: A LEGO World Builder Project
JeffBuilds replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm happy you liked it at the very least! When I was a wee sprat, I always Imagined the Merchant Minifig from the Imperial Trading Post was Redbeard's Son, with the similar torso print, but in white and tan instead of black and Green, and the similar face printing, without the eyepatch. I put some of that in the character's design, along with some of my favorite pirate-related elements I've seen in the last 5 to 10 years, into this concept, namely Blackbeard's Hat from the PotC Line, and the Scabbard that came with the first wave of PotC Sets! I invested heavily in that line so all my little pirates could have a place to hang their swords when they weren't using them! also liked the flare of the little sash printed on the leg of the lead guy from the Prince of Persia line, and we can rip into that all we want, there were some good pieces and prints from that series! I will definitely keep an eye open and see if any other character designs/concepts catch my eye and/or Ire! Edit: Realized I didn't right proper name this false Heir to the Redbeard Legacy! Any one of you want to give him a more fitting name than "Roger Jr." in the File-Name? -
Oh, ah Welcome!

Fantasy Pirates: A LEGO World Builder Project
JeffBuilds replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Pirates
I just saw this today! I personally think your lead-captain still has some Jack Sparrow Vibes to him in his design; Probably the Goatee and moustache; I do like the color of the hat and jacket though. If I was going to make him a blood relative; a Nephew, to Captain Roger Red-Beard himself, I'd at the very bare minimum make him a red-head. EDIT: I just did a drawing, and I never, ever draw anymore, and I'm so excited, and I'm gonna share it on the World-Builder page for this project!!! Lemmie see if I can get it a little bit smaller here... Alright, third time's a charm! -

[MOD/MOC] Lego City Mars Exploration - Heavy Mobile Lab
JeffBuilds replied to Horlack Bricks's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Ohh, that's incredible! I was thinking of taking a couple of the modular space-station sets, and combining them in a way to make an updated version of the Galaxy Commander! What you have is remarkable! Excellent part usage and set integration!- 5 replies

LEGO Sci-Fi 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Got my Orange-man too! I was looking forwards to this since the book was leaked back in May! -
Do you think lego will ever realese another space theme
JeffBuilds replied to arealhuman's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I wanna say "yes." EDIT: for reasoning, of course I want to say yes, because a toy company priding itself in encouraging creative play and building things would be short sighted and ham-fisted not to! Since man first looked up to the stars, they were captivated by the vastness of space, and fantasized about exploring those vast expanses, colonizing planets, and meeting new lifeforms. One of the big 3 systems that lego started with was Space, because of this! So yes, I'd be willing to wager we'll get another Space related line in the future. -
Happy Belated Shiptember! I'm mostly a Pirates Builder, but I tried branching out this year by actually making a Space-Faring vessel this year, and I feel pretty good about what I've accomplished this year! I call it "The Cosmic Cruiser." In the initial stages, I wanted to create a space ship befitting of the Lego CMF series one "Space Hero" Minifigure, and upon further thinking on it, I wanted to design a ship that looked similar to the one on the original Lego Classic Space Logo. This bird is a heavily modified LEGO Space Police Wave 3 Galactic Enforcer (Majority of play features stripped; and body widened from 8 studs wide to 10. Canonically, it was won in a Space-Police Auction.) Only unoriginal elements are the stickers on either side of the ship, and on the middle fin. All else is 100% Lego, from stock, and collection. Presently has no weapons or defenses to speak of; Might upgrade with stud-shooters or spring-loaded projectile launchers between now and next year. The Crew of the Cosmic Cruiser, Arc-Arklay (Middle; Space Hero with head swapped out for LANCE from Nexxo-Knights), Zeke, (Right; Space-Hero with elements from first printing Ninjago Rebooted Zane. He's good with machines because Cyborg) and RC to the left of the crew. He's an advanced Android shell, piloted by the Cosmic-Cruiser's Ship-Board A.I. Think a Google Smart-Speaker, capable of outrunning Alien Blockades, outmaneuvering Blacktron recon ships, and decyphering Deep-encrypted Broadcasts from Spyrus. Also, with the emotional intelligence of a small child. So I gutted the flagship model of Space Police 3, and have some interesting Fig-Barf. Is that all? Not quite. My favorite play-feature I added to this ship is a rear boarding ramp and sliding door/airlock! (With turn signals, of course!) Ramp deployed (sliding door play-feature is held shut in "Swoosh" mode by two 1-stud clamp pieces.) And inside view of ship from the sliding door. Another view of the ship's interior, from the opening top of the ship! inside are two crew cots and a charge station for the Android, a small preparation table with utensils, cabinets, a dedicated place for helmets, 3 special tazers/phasers for the crew, a small garage-type area, and because lack of anything else, a crude brick-built sofa/ship seating. The cockpit, with detailing, mostly printed pieces, with a couple of stickers, and a rare tiny-fig that serves as nothing more than a dashboard ornament/bobblehead (in the second revision, might make it a Blue Space-Man Tiny-Fig with a Blue Classic Space helmet to emphasize it's Bobble-Head status.) Very happy with what I've made here, however I feel there is considerable room for improvement. The next time I revisit this model, I'd like to: -Add some defensive counter-measures to the ship, in the form of stud-shooters or projectile launchers. While initially created with the purpose of exploring uncharted Fig-Space and running diplomatic missions, sometimes it's important to defend yourself. -Expand on the Motor-Pool/Mechanical bay and add a smaller recon vehicle, which may result in revising the entire build, adding a second floor to house a small quad or hovercraft for away missions. And that's my contribution to Shiptember: 2020. I'd have uploaded this on the 30th, but due to technical difficulties, I could not upload until October 3rd.

Oh, neat! I'll have to check that out!

Not only that, but more along the lines of it being the best performing in-house system of LEGO sets, well before TLG began courting other IPs like Star Wars or Marvel.

Old LEGO pirate sets with new minifigures and accesories
JeffBuilds replied to Captain Roger's topic in LEGO Pirates
It looks good! I think I came here.... Oh Gosh... I dunno. If you posted these in 2011, then they've been here longer than I have, maybe. -
Soon as it hits 500% Value, you sell it for more legos! :D
-
Oh yeah, I got a copy of the set now too, finally. Had it for a couple of weeks, to be honest. Should I build it now, or save it for 5,000 Subscribers on my Youtube Channel or some other occasion?
-
I would make an educated guess, based solely on Lego Classic Pirates (89- 97) being the best performing LEGO theme to date, prior to Bionicle, then Ninjago, plus the added Nostalgia factor behind that line, and the updated and up-aged Captain Redbeard Minifigure, that this set will definitely perform, but more for the people who grew up going on adventures with Captain Redbeard, than anyone else. I recommend buying 3, if possible. One for the Bay build, one to have the ship, without the need to take apart the core build, and one to keep Mint Sealed in Box to appreciate. This could easily be this Generation's 2008 UCS Millennium Falcon!
-
Oh, that's MAJESTIC!
-
Oh, Clear cache? I'll try that in a little bit.
-
That's incredible!

Had a random thought or an idea, if anyone on the moderation or administration team wants to take it and run with it. Because of recent events forcing us to stay at home, and in special cases wear masks and maintain a safe social distance of six feet (approx 5 to 6 studs for Minifigs) , How feasible would it be to make some kind of stay at home LUG convention type thing? I'm not very creative, but I'm thinking at the very least, members can set up tables in their own homes with their latest MOCs, and prepare a small virtual/video exhibition where they walk us around, and show us what kind of amazing things they built! Not sure what to do about Prizes or considerations, I'm presently sitting on a massive hoard of LEGO sets for my channel I've been stockpiling for the past 4 to 5 years. Just got a Twitch domain, and I'm looking to do a City building livestream eventually... but that's besides the point. Do we want to do a Stay-at-home LUG Convention, and would anyone be willing to participate?

Aww, I liked the lil' guy when he first came out!
