Or isn't, if you consider Epi. 1 & 2... and to a lesser extent 3. :-| Though I do think you raise some valid points. I think it will go on, but I imagine they would slow down on releases. Personally, and I've made no secret of this, I'm pretty much over Star Wars Lego. Steve

I wonder why he'll only go west of Salisbury. Is East-Salisbury really that bad? *wacko* Steve

So 250 GBP would be about 500 USD. Figuring an average price per piece of .10 USD, it would need to be about 5,000 pieces. Which, if it is 4 ft. tall, would seem reasonable deal. Plus you've got the exclusivity factor, especially if it was designed by a Lego official builder. Though I bet shipping would be a killer... I'd have to guess the price would rise a lot, so I wouldn't get my hopes too far up. I'm not going to say that. I'd guess that if you miss it now, you'll not be able to get it at any (reasonable) price, as it is likely one-of-a-kind. At the same time, as a Lego fan, I think I'd be happier if my wife put the expenditure into several other sets for me. Though collectors appeal and the significant sentimental value in having such a cool gift from my wife, may outweigh that consideration. Got a link? I'd like to see the beast. Steve, who probably wasn't much help...

Looks like a nice well designed set. Though I probably won't be getting any. I'm trying to cut back my expenditures and, since I've never really been into space, this will be one of those cutbacks. I wonder how well it will sell. Sure its a nice set and all, but it seems geared more towards AFOLs. Especially with the price tag and the lack of smaller complementary sets. I wonder how many AFOLs will skip it too, because it doesn't really come with any new pieces. Just those readily available through PaB. Still a good review and a pretty good looking set. I just hope it isn't doomed by marketing restrictions. Steve

AFOL = Angry Frenchman On LSD... How's that for an acronym inside an acronym? X-D Steve

I doubt it. The GG only comes with 4 figures and the chess set has 32. The figure is the most expensive part of the set, particularly if it comes with printing. So I assume the dearth of figures causes the price increase. Steve

So many great entries. It was a hard decision, especially with regard to the City/Space category. I love the Ice Planet babe taking a bath *wub* but had to go with the hobo. I was so torn on that one, but in the end, the hobo just looked more like an official Lego product. Steve

Wow, that's way too expensive. If it were an Castle structure, on par with the ISD or DS2, I probably would have bought it. But since its only a chess set, I don't see any reason for me to shell out that kind of money for it. For that price you could snag almost 100 impulse sets and have a huge army. Or if you went the battle pack route, you could get 125 figures. Steve

He's at least confirming the no more magnets proposition. Steve

Is this the end of magnets? Check out the bricklink report. And the fbtb thread, that alerted me to the matter. And bruce seems to confirm it in my classic-castle thread. Steve

I'm not sure what you were going for here. Were you trying to make it look like something that could have been an official set? It really gives off that vibe. If so, I think its too long and it has way too many horses. Other than that, it is a pretty good WW MOC. Steve

I didn't know Two-Face was going to be in the movie. I thought Harvey Dent was, but didn't know we'd see TF. Steve

You've got the wrong forum... in fact, I wonder just how you selected this forum, in the first place. But, thanks anyway. And a Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too. Steve

I'm not much of a MISB collector. I prefer to play with my Lego. But I still wouldn't open such a find if I could readily and easily sell it to someone who would appreciate it, for enough fund to purchase a couple of non-MISB sets. That way we'd both be happy. Steve

Blech... I don't like that at all. :-X Steve

Its funny to me, how we all have, for some reason, without a single shred of evidence at all, latched onto the idea that a Pirate theme will be forthcoming. Steve

Well it has been talked to death, but here are my thoughts nonetheless. The yellow castle has never really done it for me. I got into Castle (and Lego in general) just as the grey castle was being introduced, so I've got no nostalgia for the yellow. I also think yellow is a pretty silly color for a castle and the stickers on the parts are a real turn-off to me. That being said, I would like the get some of the old knight's visors, but a re-release probably wouldn't include them, so I don't see much appeal in such a Legend. Steve

I've not heard of these. Can you direct me to some pictures? Steve

Theater / Movie Posters re-made using LEGO

I did a Goldfinger poster: The original. And an Octopussy poster: Wow, I didn't realize how badly the colors were off on the background until I looked at it here... The original. Steve
