Let's hope its better than that train wreck of a second movie. Steve

This monster is currently being featured on Classic Castle. Thought it would be good to share here too. Steve

This site has a fairly extensive list of Ghost Towns. I think Ghost-Towning is going to be my new weekend activity, once I get a 4WD. I went and checked out one of the towns listed. It was called Unionville and its in North Central Nevada. And while the pictures from that website look pretty cool, most everything is hidden away behind fences with menacing "Private Property" signs. I've tried some of the other towns too, but the directions were poor or their idea of two-wheel drive roads, is significantly different from mine. I'll have to see if I can locate some pictures from other spots I've been to. Definately want to check out Bodie and Rhyolite. Steve

If anyone is interesting in visiting ghost towns, here is a website that gives a listing of some. Though I must note that how they classify ghost towns is questionable, as some I grew up in one of the "ghost-towns" and it hardly qualified (I figure a town with a graduating highschool class in the high hundreds and a K-Mart and McDonalds doesn't count) and some of them are merely empty fields (they do at least tell you this). It still is kind of interesting. I'm going to go check out some of the other ones listed today. Steve P.S. Yes, the music is kind of weird, but I like it...

How about we define them as something of [approximate classic minifigure] scale which are intended to depict something with [at least, a rudimentary] consciousness? Me! Me! Oooh, oooh, pick me! Pick me! Over here! Over here! Uh, uh, uh, uh! Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Meeeeeeeeeeeeee! And those are just the bigger ones, I've picked up... Steve

Pink is out for Patrick. No way to get enough of the special pieces to make the head and arms. I may have to rework the eyes of Mr.Krabs though. Maybe when I rework the Sponge Bob eyes. Steve

Fabuland Guillotine and Odds & Ends (Uses for a Blue Bucket)

Nice use of those palm tree pieces to make non-right angles. Steve -

Personally, I think almost any color can work, of course that's coming from the guy who brought you this. I like colors in my MOCs, so I've thought a lot about color schemes. Generally, and I think this works in most themes, I think a bright strong primary color (red, yellow, orange, blue, green, the ones in my MOC, etc.), needs to be paired with a more neutral color, like white, grey or tan. I also don't advocate using more than three colors in any particular building (not counting black as a color). I think sand colors (blue, red, green) would look the best, since WW buildings are often beaten and worn, but its hard to get them in that color. And I'm not sure about white. It seems to clean for the WW. Its more about building style and architecture to me, than color. For example, if you just heard the color scheme for Brickster's hotel (turquoise, burnt orange and white) you think it would be completely horrible. But when you see it, it works, despite the kooky colors. Here's what I've done in the WW theme, which uses red, yellow, blue, white, grey and black. I think the colors work, even if the architecture isn't outstanding. Steve

I bet you could make a nice bed with those fence pieces. Steve
-
Its a little too red. Some accenting colors on the house would really help. I like the roof design. Steve
-
Some fabuland figures would help... And those snazzy roof and wall pieces. Steve
-
Probably not for a while. I'm currently in miniland mode and then I've got to get my next JT story done and off the dining room table. Steve
-
I tried those. Thought they looked worse than the transblue. Solid blue looks ever worse. Steve
-
I've never done any fabuland building. I may have to dig out my old parts and see what I can come up with... though I hardly have any. Mostly just figures. Steve

You can't have it all in miniland. Personally, I'm much less happy with the eyes, than I am with the sloping. I made it sloping, mostly because the Build-a-Bob set, which I based the figure on, had slopes. Strangely enough the one time I felt like building a SpongeBob MOC, there wasn't an episode on TV (it seems like he's always on). I'm glad she approved. Keep an eye out for Mr. Krabs, who will be coming soon. Steve

Link doesn't seem to work for me. Steve

They only made those three that you mentioned. Though a 1x1 round brick can be used, without much noticable difference. I do like them for palisade walls. They also work well for the Viking Fortress. It just seems funny to me that they'd make vertical log pieces for a theme that just screamed out for horizontal ones. Never tried to SNOT them. Steve

Ooooh, I want to go there. I've been on a ghost-town kick lately. Went out looking for some last weekend, but couldn't find any that weren't on the military bombing ranges. Steve

Looks good. I wish Lego would make an official set like this, particularly with the cow. I think the crooked well is my favorite detail. The firepit is also well done. Steve
-
It really irritates me that they are vertical. I don't know why Lego didn't make horizontal log bricks. I do like to use them for accenting. The tans greys and blacks can also be used mixed in with regular bricks to make stone walls look worn. Or you can mix the brown ones with regular brown bricks to make a cobbled together wooden structure. Steve

Hermes' hair was a pain. I almost didn't do him because of it. I was thinking sand-green; hadn't thought about lime. I couldn't find the inverted slopes in sand-green for the legs. I don't know about the lime though. Steve

I just use a big piece of light blue posterboard, that I set the MOC on and curve up for the background. It works pretty well, as you can see in my signature picture. Or I build a brick background, as seen in my avatar. Steve

That's why I did it so quickly. Didn't want to be beaten to the punch. Gotta ask, what's the second? Steve
